  1. not my food, my weight lol. I haven't posted on here in quite some time. For a while I was focused on dealing with some other health issues, and so was content to just glide along/maintain my weight loss. Now that my other health concerns have been dealt with, I'm ready to focus on losing again- the only problem is it's happening soooooo slowly no matter what I do. I had my surgery in December 2007. I am down 88lbs, but I have been at this weight for a long time (months and months). I went to the gym, and they told me I needed to increase my caloric intake, so I did, and initially lost 5 lbs, but then gained it back the next week. Now I am really restricting my caloric intake (not hungry or craving anything) and I'm still not losing. I'm working out heavily about 3-5 hours a week. I'm so frustrated that the scale isn't moving. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't think I need a fill, because I feel satisfied, even with just a little bit of food . Oh P.S. I still have between 60-80lbs to lose! Thanks, Meghan
  2. I had an allergic reaction to the Opti-Fast. I swelled up like a balloon all in my face after drinking it. My Dr. told me to try slim fast made with soy milk instead of the Opti-fast - and that seemed to clear things up for me.
  3. thanks for all your responses... I would have come back sooner, but I didn't get any email notices saying that people had responded to this thread. I called the nurse today to ask what she thinks... I'll keep you all posted. Thanks so much for the encouragement. Meghan
  4. I've had 2 fills, and am at 4.5cc's in my 10 cc band. I think i'm ready for another fill, but I just had one 2 weeks ago. I feel like if I go back for a fill so soon that they will think i'm a failure. Am I crazy to think this? Anyone else feel the same way?
  5. Ok, so I had my second fill about 2 weeks ago. I immediately felt good restriction and that was sustained for the past two weeks. As of yesterday and today, my restriction is gone. I'm wondering if I should wait, or book another fill? What do people think? I've only lost 5 lbs since my last fill, so I don't understand why I wouldn't feel restriction anymore. Any ideas?
  6. I've done it both at home and in a spa. I much prefer the spa. I really found it makes a difference who does it... some estheticians hurt more than others. My friend is a professional esthetician, and she has given me the following tips - take a pain killer about 30 minutes prior to waxing (she recommends advil, but i think that's on the no go list for us bandsters),don't go the week before your period, it will hurt more. help the waxer to hold your skin tight. The tighter your skin, the less it hurts. Best of luck!
  7. My Mom and Dad love me very much!! They paid for the entire surgery upfront then I will be giving them half back from my personal line of credit.
  8. I got a cordless bullet from the local adult toy shop. It was really cheap - about $10, and ran on a watch battery. My battery died after about 6 months (and I used it frequently). I have yet to replace it, but it was the best!! It was sold with this cock ring, that had a place for the bullet.... absolute heaven! As for painful sex... I've only experienced painful sex at point in time. I went to the doctor - she did an exam and said that my cervix was swollen and bleeding. It turns out it was a reaction to my BC pill. Once i changed pills... no more pain.
  9. I've also heard no such thing as a false positive.... but there is false negative. At the same time, your body has been through a lot and could be thrown right off. Go to the Doctor.
  10. I'm never thirsty until i eat either. Sometimes I have to cheat and have a couple sips because I'm so thirsty. I try to carry around bottled water, because if i have it in my hands i know i'm more likely to sip on it.
  11. thanks, i'm gonna call for a fill today and ask these questions to the nurse!
  12. Ok, I'm thinking that maybe I'm paranoid, but I want to make sure I keep my band for a long time. I've had one fill, and sporadically feel restriction. I've become very aware of my body cues and stop eating when I feel pressure. My question is, sometimes I don't get those body cues and I can eat and eat and eat with no pressure - like 2 bowls of pasta, then some cereal (i'm totally on a binge like I was never banded), no PB, nothing. If i'm not feeling any cues is it possible to stretch my pouch? Or is everything just passing through easily? My fill is 4CC's in a 10CC band, so I would imagine that I should feel some regular restriction?
  13. I want to be 130 or less, but no less than 115 (i'm 5'3") I want to wear a size 8. I have curves and I think i'll always have them, and I'm happy with that. I'm basing what I may look like on my sister's body type. She's about 130, size 8 and very curvy. Wish me luck!!
  14. The nurse told me it was suture material and she went to cut it for me, but couldn't find it when I was there, it had closed over. A few days later that little part of the incision got pussy, and the string popped out again, so I cut it, and it's been fine ever since.
  15. I personally wish Nickelodean would hang her out to dry. I've heard all this talk about how nice it is that they stick by her. I don't think it's nice I think it's sending a message we don't want to send and have actually left them an e-mail to that effect. (for what it's worth) I don't think Nickelodean can get rid of her. I don't think (but I don't know), that they can terminate her contract because she's pregnant, that would be illegal wouldn't it? It kinda puts them in a tough situation. I doubt she will appear in any further shows on Nickelodeon, they might just keep her on the payroll, and decline any further filming with them??
