  1. I have MagnaCare thru my husbands union and oxford thru my job, Magnacare would pay $8000 toward the surgery, but my best friend also has Magnacare thru her husbands union and they paid for everything. It depends on the plan, call and ask them what they will cover. Most bariatric surgeons have free seminars and will help you with all the steps including insurance issues.(some are more helpful than others). I first went to a surgeon in Nassau county who really wasn't helpful at all, I found my surgeon in Suffolk County and they took care of everything for me. Good Luck!
  2. I had a similar experience with the nurse practitioner from my OB/GYN's office, after questioning my 100# weight loss since my last appointment she said, oh so many people gain all the weight back after WLS surgery. I was shocked at her attitude and really disappointed that she had absolutely nothing positive to say. I decided to chalk it up to her ignorance and move on!
  3. Good luck! I was born in New Zealand but now live in New York.
  4. Congrats! You look awesome!
  5. The re-fried beans could have a lot of sodium... maybe its water retention?
  6. Same thing happened to me, with my first pregnancy and everything was fine. In fact, I had spotting up until my 2nd trimester. Take it easy, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy even-though you are going thru a rough time. So sorry about your dad.
  7. Do you track your food? I use MyFitnessPal.com and it helps to see what you are really doing...
  8. Wow look great -- You even look taller!
  9. Congrats!! Amazing progress, good for you!!
  10. You should be feeling fine, but the meal might be tricky. I would have a protein shake before you go, drink lots of water and hope they have soup as an appetizer.
  11. I've lost around, but not cup size.
  12. I agree with Mrs Whitty.. it sounds like acid reflux.
