  1. That sounds yummy! I'm going to try it tomorrow since I have some overly ripe bananas.
  2. Congrats on getting your date! You don't need to tell the boss anything. I just told mine that I would be out for surgery. They're not allowed to ask what type.
  3. Sorry to hear it....if he can't go with you, maybe you can find someone else who can.

I'm sorry you're having problems with the gallbladder. I tried to get my doctor to remove mine when he did the sleeve, but he said "no" unless I had a problem with it since not everyone has gallbladder problem after getting sleeved. Good luck with your surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery.

It sounds like you may have Kaiser insurance...if so check and see if they use outside surgeons. If they do, check and see if the surgeons have any requirements. I have Kaiser and found out that the surgeon required that I attend their Weight Loss seminar. I did it while I was still doing the classes with kaiser so that once I got approval from the board, I could make an appt with the surgeon for a date....this saved me a month of waiting for the surgeon's class.

Congrats! I made drinking my main focus right after surgery. I watched how quickly the dye went through my little tummy when the leak test was done and I kept that in mind as to how quickly I can take another drink. Each morning, I focus on slowly sipping my protein drink til I got it all in. In the beginning it was an hour and a half, but it takes much less time now. When I was done with the protein shake, I went straight to drinking fluids. It'll help with the tiredness feeling also....good luck with getting in your proteins tomorrow and can't wait to see the pics!
  7. I believe smoking hinders healing and your stomach is still healing I say lay off the cigars for 6 months or forever
  8. Can you please explain each exercise? I believe I know what the squats and wall-sits are, but what the heck are burpees?
  9. I use a baby spoon and then I eat no more than a half spoon at a time....good luck.
  10. Yea, I can totally relate. I'm still working on figuring out when I've eaten too much.
  11. Me thinks you were wearing the wrong size clothes prior to surgery and that's why you haven't gone down a size yet But your right...I don't feel lighter, but know I am. I am doing okay...working my way into soft foods....had some fish today and took a bite too many. Still trying to learn what that full feeling is like.
  12. newgrandmother, sometimes it helps to change up your routine. like more calories for a day or increase exercise for a day
  13. Have you tried the ground turkey, taco seasoning, and refried beans? I just made it tonight and you can't tell its turkey.

so sorry to hear that. I just hate insurance companies dictating your health. You would think that if you've regained the weight then you need some help. I hope your doctor gets it overturned for you.
  15. I had to do 6 months also. I have Kaiser insurance. Once they accepted me into the program, it was a matter of doing everything they tell you, then you will get approved. My bmi was right over 40. They go by the initial bmi and I had to lose some weight prior.....good luck with your process
