Blossom, have you tried the Zone bars? They are so good, they have 16 grms of protein and the taste good. They have a mint flavor that's like eating 10 mint Girl Scout cookies and the fudge, ummmm. I buy them by the box @ Walmart.

I'll bet I don't have 5 pictures of me between my house and my two sons homes. If I got ahold of the picture first it was torn up. Then along came digital, tg for the delete button!

Good point from everyone. I hadn't thought about him puncturing the tube. I plan on giving him a call tomorrow, there were about 100 people there tonight and only 3 banders out of all those. What scares me is if he thought he hit the port, does that mean that it has flipped. I don't feel any different today around the port area than I did the day after surgery. Leatha would you pm me the picture you posted with tummy sutured around the band please. Betty good luck on your fill. Marie, I'm doing the valium, cream and maybe the spray, lol. I think he really thought he had hit the target, but something was different enough between my fill and the other lady after me to cause him concern. It's funny, I did my 24 hours of liquid, then started on some chili, taking tiny bites, basically dipping my spoon into the sauce without much of the Beans or beef. I kept thinking I've really got to be careful, I don't want to pb with my first food. I probably felt less restriction than I did prior to the "fill". I think since this is a package deal, with fills included for the first year, and self pay to boot, I really think he should arrange for the next fill to be flouro, especially since there's a chance there's been a puncture.

Talk about luck with needles, I went for a support meeting tonight and spoke to my Doctor, I was teasing him about being stingy with that full 1cc, because of my lack of restriction. He said he was going to call me that he didn't think things went exactly right with my fill on Monday and wants me to come in and make sure he didn't hit the side of the port instead of the port! I reminded him of how I almost passed out and I did not do well with the fill, he said he was gonna give me a valium. He thought he had put in .75, boy this is going to be fun. First he's going to try to withdraw any that may be in there, then fill with 1 cc. He said he did a fill a few hours after mine and the lady sat up and immediately felt a difference, which made him wonder if mine worked, He also said there was a different feel when the needle hit the port with her. I also asked for a script of the cream.

Could it be the saline went into my system? Well I'm open until next Wed.

Ok where the heck is ya'll's band? "All that motion in that area", I guess your band is placed somewhere different than mine. Oh yea, I told my dh I had another week to go, I'm only 5 weeks post op, that he should remember the 6 week rule after any surgery, hehehe.

What you're having is the next phase, mushy. I would stick to the true liquids, even if creamy. I ate a lot of the creamier Soups the second week. I think as long as you don't have to digest it you're ok. You don't want your tummy muscles to have to work, they're still healing. I did have sausage gravy, but I didn't eat the sausage, because of worrying about digesting it. After someone explained the digestion part I was a tad more particular about any mushy/solids sliding down. Good luck, you'll be just fine.

Sugar free popcicles are good too. My doctor told me anything that would go through a straw. I did a lot of that Campbells hand of soup, but read the ingredients, some have much higher calories. Good luck and welcome.

I've been wired since they came out with them, ok, I'm old. I went for a period of time and I must have spent $200 or more on all kinds of bras. They either pinched or rode up, too tight or squashed the puppies or let the puppies show. I ordered my most comfortable bra ever on line, it's called Oprah's favorite bra. It was around $42.00 and worth every penny and then some. It's by Goddess and it's style 906. Just put the brand and style in your search engine and you'll get all kinds of hits. Maureen, I've been told if the wires are poking, your cup's too small. Good luck bra hopping.

Betty, you gotta watch out for those biker bars, LOL. My bike was lowered 2", then I ripped all the wires out of the underneath when I hit a road bump, so I had it raised an inch and got thicker boots. I also have a easy clutch on mine so I can pull the clutch in easier.

It's good to hear you fills are the same price, but OMG the cost of inflation from Dr. Lopez's office is hard to keep up with. You've only had one fill and lost 78 lbs, you go girl.

My surgeon has me scheduled for a fill every 6 weeks, but I think it should be according to the message I'm getting from my band. The time span is too general, I think it should definately be on a personal basis. A gentleman who was banded the same day as me and who has lost twice as much weight is prob way ready for a fill. Also, my wls center is new to lapband and they've got all the support and preop classes merged and I feel each is totally seperate and should have their own respective classes. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know, because I'd like my surgeon to have a copy of what you come up with. Thanks for the good thread.

Awesome, you were beautiful before the loss and even more so now. Your clothes look like they came from the queen. Where did you get those outfits from? Who is your fashion designer? Tell me, tell me, please. Oh yea, happy to meet you, I've only been here since October.

My friend Debbie who was banded right after me gets her first fill next week. She's going to ask the doctor to prescribe either the spray or the cream to us and we'll put it on before we get there so he doesn't have to wait. Good luck with your fill Kelly. Debbie looked the cream up on the internet and it was around $40.00, does that sound right Michelle? Is it over the counter or a script?

The band was always my only choice. The bypass was NEVER an option, quicker weight loss or not. The simplicity of the band is what it's all about to me. Good Luck

I've always slept on my tummy, but since the surgery, I've slept very well on my side and have not had a desire to sleep on my tummy. I've read where others have awakened to find themself on their stomach with no problems.

Teresa, I paid $10,500.00, hospital, $4500.00, doctor, $450.00 Anest, $150.00 psych eval. That's a lot of money per lb, LOL.

Like Michelle, I used the Cold-Eeze too. It has zinc in it and is suppose to be good for the common cold.

Eli28, I'm exactly 5 weeks post-op today and I had my first fill today. I was fortunate and have not been hungry until a couple of days ago, but I have respect for my band and try to treat my new friend very well. I don't want to do anything to cause my body to reject it, over fill it, or stretch it. So, I try to use these reasons to help me make better food choices. I try to listen to my band and tummy and know when to stop. I'm not perfect and everyone is different, but instead of grabbing chips or bad food choices, I will either eat a piece of sugar free candy or a sugar free popcicle and don't forget your Water. I was only on liquids 24 hrs before surgery. I still laugh at my "last meal" before surgery, the Waffle House, a waffle with strawberry syrup. Now I think of all the things I wish I'd chosen, great big juicy hamburger with the works or sushi, duh what was I thinking? Oh yea, I was joining my two grandsons, 10 yrs and 11 months where they wanted to eat. As Martha would say, "It was a good thing!" Then I was on liquids 2 weeks after surgery, but my doctor told me I could have anything that would go through a straw. It's amazing what you can get through a straw, especially the second week. I had my first fill today and I will admit I am not excited about being back on the liquid phase, thank goodness only 24 hours though, only 18 to go. Good Luck
