Taking Time Off Work?
I took off a little over two weeks. Surgery was on a Monday and my my post op appointment was two weeks after on a Tuesday. I went back to work on Wednesday. I if I have a desk job so I think that makes a difference, but I felt fine and my coworkers knew I had surgery and were very supportive!

Well, I Did It!
I have been mainly walking for all my exercise. I am 5 months post op. Yesterday I took my first Zumba class, and I did it!!! 6 months ago I never would have imagined to get through that class. I feel so great I just needed to share! I might go back for another class this morning!

Protein Shakes
Nectar chocolate truffle is my favorite. If you are looking for bottled shakes, the EAS are pretty good. You can buy them at Walmart. I'd say the Nectar is the best one I've bought. It mixes really well with water or milk, not grainy our sandy at all. Plus they are only 100 calories with no carbs or sugar.

Water
You will very used to taking small sips. Unfortunately for me, if I take too big of a sip or sip too soon after eating, I get the dreaded "slimes". Before my surgery, I chugged water like you won't believe, and it was definetly a concern of mine too. Don't worry you'll get enough water in, it is just a change in habit. Sip sip sip all day! Good Luck!

New to group
Hello there! I am 31 yrs old, and have a six year old son. He is great and helps me out! It's funny, on Easter, I asked him if I could have a little taste of his Cadbury egg and he said "NO! Too many carbs!" It's amazing how much they understand. Good luck with your journey, and keep in touch!

Seeking Advice...
I am 31 years old and my starting weight was 250. I am absolutely 100% glad I had this surgery! It is a life changer and I wish I wouldn't have waited. I also tried to lose several times, trying different things. I have little time for exercise but more that I've lost 80lbs, I look forward to squeezing in time at the gym. I can't believe the quantity of food I are before and have learned a lot! This is a great place to ask questions, and always have support from people! Good luck! You are making the right decision! Learn all you beforehand and you won't have any problems! Congratulations on your job promotion too!

Fast Protein But No Shakes
I bought some roasted edamame, found it at Big Lots of all places, but heard they sell it at Walmart. Also, my favorite protein bar is Power Crunch Vanilla. Yummy. Do you like yogurt, our cottage cheese? Kroger makes a carbmaster yogurt that only has 4g carbs and 9g protein.

Stall Before Monthly Visitor....
Does anyone else seem to stall for a few days before your monthly period?? I'm noticing a trend, and I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Results From My Endoscopy
I was in the same boat. A large hernia, my surgeon fixed it while he did my sleeve surgery. It didn't change the recovery time or anything, and no additional pain. No worries! Good luck and congrats!!

Med Question
My doctor has had me on Pepcid AC tablet since I was in the hospital. I just swallow one tablet in the morning and I'm good all day!

Chocalate
Bariatricpantry.com has these chocolate proti bars. To me they taste similar to a CRUNCH bar and they have 10g protein and 10 net carbs. Those satisfy my craving.....especially during "that time of the month"

Diet Coke
Just like others have posted my surgeon told me no carbonation. With crystal light and water, I hand no craving for soda, but they did say I could let a can go flat, then sip on it and out would count a my liquid intake. I just don't feel the need. I was a huge regular soda drinker pre surgery. To me, starting back on soda, even if it if it is diet, will sabotage my progress. So why start? But that is just me....

Abnormalities Found At Endoscopy
I had an endoscopy the Friday before my surgery (surgery was on Monday). They found polyps during my upper GI. Luckily for me, the polyps were on a part of my stomach that was being removed, but my surgeon ordered the lab results back and I got them back literally minutes before I went in and everything was fine. I know every doctor is different, and I was so worried too that it would postpone my surgery, but my doctor assured me there was most likely nothing to worry about. Good luck!

What Happens To Me After Eating A Meal
Yes! This has happened to me a few times. Yesterday being the last time it happened. For me it is exactly what the others are saying. I've either eaten a little too much and my sleeve is not happy, or, I eat/drink too fast. Yesterday, it was water I was drinking too fast and it happened. It's such a weird thing. Then I have to spit it out. My husband teases about it being "not very ladylike" HaHa! but definetly has to come out in order to feel better. You are not alone!

Don't Know What To Eat !

How Many Grams Of Protein Are Your Doctors Suggesting?
My doctor told me between 60-80, but at least 60/day. I stay around 70. Three months out and I still try top do one shake a day. Do do some of you further out still rely on shakes?
