  1. I used regular cream cheese.half a brick
  2. I am three months out...I am just wondering about how many carbs you have each day? I have been trying to stay at or below the recommended 25 carbs per day, but I haved added a little more as of lately and it seems the pounds are dropping off faster now. Anyone had the same thing happen?
  3. So you've lost 5lbs in one week! That is great! Right after surgery, they are pumping you with liquids and your body is going through so much! It is not anything to be embarassed about! Stick with your plan and all will be fine! Good Luck! :-)
  4. I know it sounds impossibly difficult, but you can do it! Keep your eyes on the prize...the pre-op diet will help so much with your journey! My best suggestion is to keep yourself as busy as possible, and drink a ton of water! Congratulations on your decision! Good Luck to you!
  5. I can defintely relate to this concern. Before surgery, I would eat (A LOT) and I never felt full. In fact, when I ate a lot, it seemed like it would trigger me to eat even more. I rarely ever even felt that "full" feeling at all, even after a big meal (and dessert). Now, I really eat about 1/2 cup of food and I am done. The full feeling lingers, sometimes a little uncomfortably, until I am able to drink some water or something to make the full feeling pass. I am only 3 months out, but I never actually feel hungry now. I just eat because I know I have to. It is something you might ask your doctor about, but I don't think it is a concern. After surgery, your entire relationship with food changes. If you keep yourslef focused on the end result and the reason you are getting the surgery in the first place, you won't have any problems! I wish you the best of luck. Congratulations on your decision. :-)
  6. So excited for you! After tomorrow, you won't have ot worry about that pesky hunger for a while! Good Luck with everything & Congratulations on your decision!
  7. I love that I can cross my legs now......and it's comfortable! Been wanting to tell someone that, but who else but my fellow Sleevers would understand such a victory!

  9. Wow! What a difference in just 3 months! Looking good. ! 55Lbs lost is fabulous. Congrats!
  10. Tried these tonight. My friend who has had Gastric Bypass come over for a visit. These were amazing! We loved them! So yummy and easy to make! I will definetly save this recipe and make it again. Thank you!!
  11. Thats awesome! Congrats! 60 lbs is amazing. And, Wow you've been productive! It's great that everything has been going well for you. :-)
  12. I have to admit, I do weigh myself daily. I just can't stop. I'm not at all discouraged by the number I see each day. Even when I've stalled for a week or so, I still remind myself that I have lost 26 lbs since surgery 7 weeks ago, so that is pretty good!
  13. Yep, I was already under anesthesia when they placed it in. Once surgery was over the most awkward part about the catheter was walking around with it hanging. But everyone was so nice at the hospital , and the nurses know exactly how to make you comfortable. The sooner you can get up and walking, the sooner they will remove it. I know it is the worry of the unexpected but I wouldnt be too concerned about it. Good Luck!
  14. I drink Nectar brand Protein powder. The chocolate truffle is the best. It has 23g protein, no carbs, no sugar, and if only 100 calories. It mixes really well with water and tastes good! I buy it on www.bariatricpantry.com or at the Vitamin Shoppe. Good luck
  15. for me it took about 5 days!
  16. You look great! Such an amazing difference! You appear to be glowing in the last picture! Good Job!
  17. Congratulations on being sleeved!!! I felt considerable better after the 1st week. The gas took about 2 weeks for me to work itself out, however, my gas pain was in my shoulders instead of my stomach. I did find that getting out and walking each day helped a lot! Even if it is only for 10 minutes. I felt tired that first week I went back to work, but otherwise I felt fine. Everyone is different, but I think you will be feeling much better in a few more days. If not, talk to your doctor and try to take another week off work to recover. Hope you start feeling better soon! And again, congratulations! It is such an exciting amazing process!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  18. OK, so I need to vent....I am 5 weeks post-op and I've been doing really well, but the past few days I have been craving chocolate like crazy. I have, for the most part, resisted these cravings. (I did suck on a piece of chocolate for a couple minutes, then spit it out) I thought it was due to all the sweets lying around because of Christmas, but low and behold, I get my period this morning!! What in the world!?? I have always had crazy sweet cravings before my period, I never would have imagine I would still get them post-op!! Well, I guess your hormones don't change when you lose weight..... :-( Thanks for the vent sesion....stinkin' periods....
  19. My surgery was at 10:00AM on Monday 11/21/11 and I left the hospital around 1:00pm on Tuesday. 11/22/11. 1 night stay was good enough for me. I was walking laps around that floor....so bored!! I met with my dietician a week before surgery and then again two weeks after. Good Luck!!
  20. I also had a 3 week stall. I will admit, I was frustrated. It lasted a week, during that time, I just continued doing what I had been, I went to the gym and after a week, it broke. I hear some last longer than others. If it happens, it is nothing you are doing wrong, just your body sorting out all the changes going on. I am officially 5 weeks out now and down another 9lbs since my stall! Yay! It is good to hear that you are recovering well. And you are down 25lbs?? How sweet is that!!? Good Luck!
  21. I was able to eat cottage cheese on my pureed diet. I also made the ricotta bake and added pureed chicken.
  22. What kind of protein prefer are you using? I've tried a couple that were gross, but my dietician rcommended Nectar brand. The Nectar chocolate truffle is really good and mixes with water easily.
  23. Congrats on your accomplishment!! That is wonderful! I can't wait to get to the 180s. Right now my goal is to get to 199. Only 9 more pounds to go and I will be under 200!!
  24. My dietician recommended to set my spoon/fork down between each bite. Sounds simple but it does work. It gives you time to think about waiting before taking you next bite.
  25. I take turkey pepperoni and lay them on a plate, microwave them for about 20 seconds and they get nice and crispy. Low fat, low carb and a nice boost of protein!! You can even add a sprinkle or mozzerella on them. Yummmm
