Almost One Week... Is This Normal?
I agree. I think you should call your doctor. I know everyone is different, but my pain only lasted for a couple days after surgery. Besides a little soreness right at the incision site. Better to be safe than sorry, not sure how the risk of infection is, but I would imagine that would cause pain. Just for peace of mind, the best bet is to run it past yor surgeon.

Protein Powder
I use the Nectar brand as well. No Carbs, 100 Calories, and 23g protein. THe Chocolate Truffle is my favorite, but Vanilla is good too :-)

Will I Lose My Hair?
Question....will I potentially still lose some of my hair if I am getting in all 60-80grams of protein a day. Since 2 days post-op I haev always gotten in at least 60g protein. Is there still a chance? I think my doctor said this happens at around 3-4 months....let me know if this has happened to any of you!!!!

Today I Start 2 Week Pre-op Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet
My 1st week of pre-op consisted of 3oz lean meat and 1/2 cup veggie and that is all besides 2 protein shakes and water for the rest of the day. I don't think it will kill you to have a little yogurt, the doctor just watch the amount of carbs...the high protein diet is used to shrink your liver for surgery, making it easier for the doctor to perform the surgery. As my dietician stated, "the pre-op diet is not just to torture us". LOL Good Luck with everything!

Do You Order From The Kids Menu?
Thanks for all your responses! I guess I was thinking about portion size, but you are right about the not as healthy options on the kids menu. I know I'll figure it all out!

Do You Order From The Kids Menu?
My family usually goes out to eat over the weekend or on Friday nights. I am only 4 weeks out, so I haven't really had to do this yet but unless I plan on bringing home a ton of leftovers, I was thinking I would order off the kids menu. anyone else do this? Are the restaurants usually ok with that? Do you tell them that you just had surgery and can't eat a lot? I know soup would also be a good option, but kids menu usually has grilled chicken.....

Cranky....pre-op?!
Yes!!! I think this probably happened to most of us! I was very irritable, my dietician actually told me to warn my husband/family before I started the pre-op diet that I could get very cranky. Felt like PMS! Lol

2 Days Post Op... #@$%
You will feel a whole lot better in a couple days. The gas pains might stick around for a bit longer, but it you get up and walk each day, it will get better. I bought the powder boullion to make soup broth and it was WAAAYY better than the canned broth. Good luck!

Food Funeral
Like PdxMan, I went out to a couple of my favorite restaurants the weekend before my two week Pre-Op Diet. I did not want to gain any weight before surgery. I stuck to the rules pre-op and have been complication free! No nasuea or anything, recovered quickly.

Why Is this So Hard? Is This Normal At 3 Weeks Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I understand your frustration completly! I am in the exact same spot as you. I am 3 weeks post op and have been in a stallfor the past week. I am in the pureed stage, so I am getting tired of the foods, but have been getting in all my water and protein. I can't wait until the start of week 5 when I can eat fish, and eggs. I have been craving eggs!! I have started walking some more, so hopefully that will help. I just keep all reading the posts that say the stalls will end!!! Just keep doing what you are doing! We'll get there!

Gas! When Will It Be Gone?
Hi Everyone! I was sleeved 6 days ago, and although I am doing great getting in enough water and protein,my only complaint is gas pains from when they pumped me full of CO2. I have gas pains still in my chest/shoulders that is quite bothersome. I've been walking every day and trying to work it out, but it is still there. How long did it take for these gas pains to go away? Is it normal for this to be bothering me still? Or should I call my doctor? Thanks for your feedback....

5 Days Post-op Only But I Need More Than Jello...help?
I am 6 days post-op and although I am not really hungry, I though I might ask how much water you are getting in? Also, are you drinking all your protein shakes first. My doctor said I can't have pudding, applesauce, or anything like that until 2 weeks post-op, but all doctors are different. Have you tried nibbling on suger free popsicles? I've had a couple of those, and it makes you feel like you are eating something more solid. But more importantly, the more water you can get down, the better. The protein shakes are alo important during this stage to allow your sleeve to soften and heal. Good Luck!

Did Anyone Not Have Any Issues After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I want to start by saying fisrt of all that I am very grateful for what I am about to report. I had my Surgery on 11/21/11, so I am 4 Days Pot-op. I have not had any nausea or heartburn. I have had a little gas (burps) but that is it. Yesterday was my first day home from the hospital and I was able to sip sip sip on about 45 oz of Water all day and I got in 69 grams of Protein with proetin shakes. I have just read over and over again that is is really hard when first out of surgery to get your requirements in. Although today an will aim to drink more water, I was just wondering how many others there are out there like me who didn't have any problems. Do I have anything to be worried about? I did follow the pre-op diet to a "T" and didn't cheat once! So I am attributting it to that and a positive attitude. Like I said I am thankful, and excited to officially begin my journey. Surgery 11/21/11 4 Days Post-Op 22 lbs Lost since per-op diet!

I know it is frustrating, but hang in there. The process can be lengthy, but soon you'll have it schduled and you'll be wondering, "wow, the time for surgery came so fast!" Hopefully they will get back to you on Monday, if not, I would just call and explain to them you need to plan for work and would like to have an idea as soon as possible. I know it is hard to be paitent when you are so excited and ready, but the time will come! The hoildays, as fun as they are, always throw a wrench in things:) Good Luck! Gastric Sleeve Pre-op Torture
I just had my surgery on Monday, so I also had to endure a Thanksgiving PotLuck at my office last week while I was on my pre-op liquid diet. Just as suggested before, I just went in and socalized as normal, talked to my co-workers, although most of them knew I was having the surgery. I just kept thinking about how it was going to be after surgery, and how many calories I was saving!! Lol You will do great! Good Luck with the rest of your week. It gets easier! Congrats on your decision.
