Feeling Frustrated With The Pre Surgery Process

Today I am feeling frustrated with the presurgery process. I was very excited to get the last consult finished. The Dr. Said he's get his consult right over to the program nurse. I called today to see if I can get any info on when they might be thinking about when I might be able to get the surgery done. I get the "its the holiday, and our office probably wont get it for at least a week." I wasw hoping to get this done before Christmas. I also need to make arrangment for being off at work. With having to do the two week liquid diet I am looking at the week right before Christmas. I wish the would have said well let us look at the schedule, if we get the consult back next week and you start liquids after thhanksgiving we can do you in two weeks. I guess that 's alot to expect but I am soooo tired of being fat and tired. I have been working on the pre-op appointments since the beginning of Oct. UHHHGGGGG.

I know it is frustrating, but hang in there. The process can be lengthy, but soon you'll have it schduled and you'll be wondering, "wow, the time for surgery came so fast!" Hopefully they will get back to you on Monday, if not, I would just call and explain to them you need to plan for work and would like to have an idea as soon as possible. I know it is hard to be paitent when you are so excited and ready, but the time will come! The hoildays, as fun as they are, always throw a wrench in things:) Good Luck! Hopefully we'll be hearing from you soon with your surgery date!!

You sound like me, I looked at my tummy in the shower yesterday and said I can't wait for you to be gone. I am so sick of working out everyday for nothing, no weight loss, nada I hope they hurry up and give me my surgery date soon. I am ready to get my sexy back. Hang in there friend.

I started trying to get approved by my insurance in January and finally got my surgery Oct 25th. I only had a 3 month diet counseling requirement. They are just slow as heck.

Your process sounds different from mine. It has been about 5 years to get to this point, but that was me trying to decide if I wanted to do it, which procedure would be best, etc.

I called and asked and reviewed and finally decided on a doctor, my appointment was last week, I was scheduled for the surgery on January 4th. I have a nutritionist visit, psyche evaluation and blood work that has to be completed before then, and the liquid diet and that's it - or how it was explained to me. Is there more pre-op?

I am not including the surgery or afterwards, they went over all of that very well.

It's really frustrating trying to get through the process. Then, suddenly, you're having to do all the pre-op stuff all at once. I had 3 weeks before surgery where it seemed like I did nothing but run to a different doc every day! Of course, I had tons of co-morbidities to get clearances on, but it was very frustrating.

It sounds like you're getting really close. Just try to have patience with the process and it will be here before you know it!

Good luck!! :)

Hang in there Im in the pre surgery stage of the whole process and it can seem like a long road ahead but patience is a virtue and sure enough and soon enough we will be sleeved! I wish you nothing but the best and many blessings in your journey ahead!

I'm sure hoping for a fast road to surgery! I had my first appointment about a month ago, spent this last month gathering all the requirements my insurance requested (5 years of medical history, 6months of concurrent medically supervised weight loss with a physician, psych consult and consult with a dietitian) The lady in the office said it would take 2 to 4 weeks to hear back from the insurance. I would love to have surgery scheduled by January sometime! I hope this is realistic!
