Got My Sleeve Finally!
You are so welcome. That's what we're here for! Oh it helped so much for dh to rub my back! All things warm and hot were and are awesome for me. I loved broth and then when I got to full liquids I really loved chicken broth with cream of chicken soup mixed in. It's usually hard to get even liquids in at first bc the sleeve is still so swollen from surgery it will pass. =) Good luck!

Got My Sleeve Finally!
I'm so sorry!! =(( I agree that the first week is def the worst. It gets better almost immediately after a week imo. I am almost 3 weeks out and don't even feel like I had surgery. If I could give u any advice,I would say to keep on moving and walking as much as u can-to get that gas off, keep taking gas x chewables or strips,I like the chewables better. And I would get some type of antacid to keep that acid away! It's horrible! It may make you think you're hungry! If drinking water hurts your sleeve, try waking up to a nice warm cup of herbal tea,it is so soothing. Then follow that with room temperature or luke warm water. I know warm water sounds nasty, but it wasn't bad for me. My sleeve would not and still really doesn't tolerate cold anything very well. I drink it still, but I try to drink room temp water,it goes down so great. I really hope you feel better soon!!! You have done something great for yourself,it just takes a lil time to adjust. (((HUGS)))

Not Sure If I Should Have Skin Removal
I too have had 3 pregnancies with the last one being twins-I carried my twin girls to full term, they were 7 lbs each!! LOL! They did such a number on my belly. I am almost 3 weeks out, have lost 30 lbs total pre and post op and I have like 98 more to go! I am soooo afraid of loose skin. I would go ahead with the panni removal. Good luck with your marriage,I really hope yall are able to work through it. (HUGS)

Cold Feet.
You can do this!! We all get some version of cold feet. I am now 3 weeks out and about 4 days before my surgery I almost called and cancelled! I was freaking out,I was afraid of not waking up and leaving my 4 babies behind. All the fears that come with it I had. I had to weigh out the pros and cons, get on VST and read everyone's encouraging stories, look at before and after pics, and just think about what a better life I wanted. Yes there is a (slim) risk of complications, there is with any surgery. But once you go ahead with it,then you are on the road to recovery and a healthier you. Trust me,you won't regret it!!! Here's an idea, make a list of all the things you are looking forward to after your sleeve. Heck post it here!! =) Make a list of all the things you hate most about being overweight, the way it feels, the negatives that come along with it. Make a list of goals, small and big. It will be a for sure picker upper to think about being able to wear a bikini to the pool or fitting in a pair of size 8 jeans. You are only 18,you have your whole life ahead of you!! ((HUGS))

Is This Self-Sabotage?
Ok I will be 3 weeks out on Wednesday. I went through something similar and I believe that's what caused my stall at a week and a half out. I wasn't eating crackers but I was making really cheesy dips that included chicken, velveeta cheese, etc. And I was eating snacks with my husband like a couple bites of cheesecake off his plate,a couple pieces of chex mix muddy buddy, etc. I had no room for the healthy stuff! At my one week post op appt my dr told me I was free to eat whatever(healthy) as long as I chewed it thoroughly and went slow. I started eating a bit of ice cream,a lil while later a couple bites of pudding,a while after that some of the velveeta dip stuff and so on...While I don't believe there is enough calories and or fat in the little bitty amounts I was sticking in my sleeve to make you gain a bunch of weight,I do believe all of this and the scale showed it with a 1 lb gain and then stall at a week and a half out: 1-Not eating planned out meals and just grazing throughout the day was getting in the way of my fluid intake. I had it in my mind that I could not tolerate protein shakes so that was being sabotoged as well, and none of these things are healthy. I was not coming to terms with the fact that my sleeve is still too small and new for me to be eating these things and still getting in the nutrition that I need. If I'm not getting in enough liquids or protein,my body is in starvation mode and will hang onto any little bit of fat it can to store for energy,I will feel weak and fatigued like I was,my hair will start falling out(one of my biggest fears). I gave my scale to my mom and made SURE to put lean protein foods first, and that's about all I can fit in my sleeve. My rule of thumb now is NO food goes into my mouth when I wake up until I have had at least 20 ozs of liquids,I follow that with a muscle milk light which has 20 grams of protein and my sleeve loves it compared to a protein shake. Then I have to have 10 more ounces of liquids b4 lunch. I can only stomach 1.5 ounces of chicken with hot sauce and a dab of blue cheese on it then I'm full. Wait about an hour and make myself finish off 10 more ounces of fluids before dinner. I then eat tuna, salmon, cheese,or chicken, something with protein for dinner. By then I have had more than 40 grams of protein and 40 ounces of liquids. I am free for the rest of the evening to drink liquids, eat a couple bites of SF pudding (I usually sprinkle some unflavored protein in it) or even eat a SF fruit bar-only 25 calories and soooo good! The reason I am saying all this is bc this: Since I put my foot down and started doing what I know I should be,my stall ended quickly and I have lost 3 more lbs in 3 days! I had to realize that I will eventually get to enjoy these things in moderation, but the whole reason I got the sleeve is so I can fill it with healthy, protein rich foods, vitamins and liquids consistently until my excess weight is gone. I will from now on save the junk food till I am farther out. That 1 lb gain and stall was enough to snap me out of it and remember what I was blessed with. Now,that being said it's just my opinion and I do believe everyone's body is different and everyone can handle things differently. I just kinda wanted to let u in on my experience thus far out and hope I can help in someway. ((HUGS)) and stay strong,we will get through this!

I Think I Can Eat Too Easily
Are u drinking plenty of water? I am almost 3 weeks out and I get hungry, although I thought the removal of Grehlin was taking care of hungry.. :/ I have found that if I don't drink enough fluids I get hungry more often. When I wake up in the morning,I require myself to drink 20 ozs of clear liquids before I put any food in my mouth,10 more ozs before lunch and at least 10 more ounces before dinner. This keeps me full and works on getting the required amounts of liquid in too.

3 Weeks Out, How Long Does It Take You To Eat A Meal?
I'm glad!! =) I have found, like many other ppl, that Greek yogurt is easy on my sleeve but I needed to kick it up bc I just can't eat it plain. I am now also eating very soft meats like really tender chicken. I can barely get in an ounce but I still try.lol I use the greek yogurt as a dip. I mix a lil seasoning or even some of the ranch dips seasoning into it and dip the chicken in it. It's great to give the meat more moisture and of course, more protein! =)

Have You Tried Torani Sugar Free Syrups In Your Greek Yogurt Yet? It Is Delish!
Ok so I was on you tube and saw these awesome recipes to kick up your greek yogurt. I had to go out and get the stuff from the video asap!! Hehe. My fave is the mixed berry one...mmmmmm....Ok so you take like a cup of your greek yogurt. Add a couple squirts of Torani sugar free Rasberry syrup. These syrups are calorie and fat free too!! =) Then you add about a tbsp of the sugar free strawberry preserves, mix it well and yummooooo! I even added like a baby spoon of truvia sweetener to it. This recipe only addes 10 calories(from the preserves) to your greek yogurt and it is so delicious. After searching like a mad woman,I finally found the Torani sugarfree syrups at Raleys. I also made one with apples and caramel syrup,it was good too but so far I like the Mixed berry one best. =)

Frustrated
Agreeing with clk,ya gotta lose the scale for now. I am 2 and a half weeks out. I dropped 14 lbs in my first week then stopped. Had to make my mom take my scale home with her the day b4 yesterday bc I was driving everyone, including myself crazy! My doctor quickly moved me to soft foods and I stalled at a week and a half out! But I am only getting like 350 calories a day and about 40-50 grams of protein, maybe 30-40 ounces of liquids. The weight has got to come off sooner or later! Just keep doin what you're doing girl. We will get there! Btw,I love my warm teas! So soothing to my sleeve! Love Chamomile. =)

3 Weeks Out, How Long Does It Take You To Eat A Meal?
I don't think you're being overly cautious at all!! I think you're doin great! 40 ounces of fluids in 8 hours is good. If you have had a problem with vomiting I would def take it slow. As slow as you want to go,baby your sleeve. Congrats to you and I'm glad you're not getting sick anymore. You should try some greek yogurt,it is awesome and great for protein. I put a lil sugar free Torani syrup and sugar free strawberry preserves in mine and it is heavenly!

Meat Just Ain't What It Used To Be

When Can I Have Cheese ?
I'm 2 weeks and 3 days out and I have eaten cheese. Yummm lol. I get the low fat weight watchers string cheese. It's so yummy. I just take small little bitty peices and chew it like a million times. Good source of protein too. I also love Babybel cheeses as well as laughing cow. They are really soft and easy to get down.
