  1. Girl congrats!! I am getting sleeved on Wednesday the 25th! 5 days now and getting nervous!
  2. OMG are you serious?!?! We should so keep in touch!!! AHHH I'm getting so excited/nervous! The pre=op diet is killing me!!!!! =))
  3. AHHH!!! 2 days before me!!!! =)) 22 lbs is outstanding, you are strong to have been on the pre op diet since Dec!
  4. Guess who's getting sleeved January 25th?!?! THIS girl<-----Woot! Insurance approved my sleeve on the 20th of December!!!!! I am so excited! I was originally instructed to start my pre-op diet on the 11th of January, but since I already lost 10 pounds they told me not to start till the 18th of January. SO SO SO excited! I haven't been on in a while bc I have been dealing with the health issues of my 2 yr old but I am back now and so excited to share my journey with you all! Any tips on how to be successful at the pre op diet? Gettin a lil jittery now,not scared of the pain,I survived 3 C-sections....Just afraid of not waking up AND afraid of vomiting afterwards and injuring my staple line!! ((HUGS)) to you all! Who else is a January sleever?????
  5. So,I had my dietician appt yesterday. I loved it,it was very educational. =) I was nervous for nothing at all! I went in and she weighed me and checked how tall I am. I have lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks from cutting out all drinks but water and protein shakes, and lowering my carb intake-ALOT. =) I have one more pound to lose as the 10 lb requirement for my surgery!!!! YEAAHHH!!! =))) They said I can lose down to 235 before surgery (I started at 268,am now 259) and still qualify so I'm not gonna stop I'm too excited. =) So she said I was very enthusiastic and educated on the sleeve (thank you vst!!) and seemed to be the perfect candidate for it. Now I just have to take my 4 hour nutrition class and go to my psych eval on the 7th then they will send off for insurance approval!!! My surgery will either be on December 29 or one of the 1st days in January. Yipppeee. I am beyond excited. I hope I heal at least a little before my twins' first birthdays on January 10th so I can have fun with them on their big day. =)
  6. That does sound odd,but awesome at the same time! lol. I'm not sleeved yet by the way so no advice here, sorry!! =(
  7. Thank you all. Unfortunately,my Nutritionist appt was rescheduled out to the 28th bc the dietician is going on a break for Thanksgiving. =(( It will come soon enough. I can say that now I am quite a bit more comfortable with the appt since all of the great insight I've gotten from you all. =) Thank you!
  8. Ok thank you all so much!!!! I also recieved a food journal to write in 24 hours before the appt. I hope he/she goes over the protein thing with me as well. I am getting super excited now and nervous at the same time. My surgeons office said I will have the surgery sometime in January. I am hoping to get that date backed up into December as my twins turn one in the beginning of January-I really don't wanna be healing from surgery on my princesses birthdays!!
  9. Thanks so much for the feedback ladies! So sorry for the confusion, but I actually meant the Nut. Eval as in the Nutritionist! Sorry!! =( Any feedback on that?
  10. Hi everyone! So,I attended my seminar on the 10th. The next morning was my initial consult so I got that taken care of. I have everything taken care of now but my sleep study, psych eval, and nut eval. I know what to expect from pretty much everything but the dietician!!! I am so freaking out bc I don't want to mess anything up! So,my question to you all is:What happened at your Nut Eval??? Like what did they ask and what got you cleared? :bigear: Thanks a bunch! And sorry I haven't posted or replied to any posts in forever. Major appts for me and my kiddos lately. Been super busy but can't wait to surf the forums and see how everyone is doing!!!
  11. Thank you so much! Good luck to you as well! I haven't completed ANY testing! It is all through my surgeons office, so they like to wait until after the seminar and then get started rigth away. I knew I hade the seminar tonight but I didn't expect them to call me yesterday and schedule the consult. =)) I was told by my surgeons office that all my insurance requires is recent bloodwok, psych eval and nut eval. Hope it's true!
  12. Sorry I'm, pre-op so I don't have an answer..but I was wondering if this "meeting with your surgeon" appt is your consultation? Bc mine is Friday and I am wondering if they will give me a surgery date. Also, what all have you done as far as requirements and doctor appts? Good luck and I hope you get a date soon!
  13. Eeeeeewie!!! I didn't I would lose hair! Ugh....my hair...O well, at least I will be healthier
  14. Girl I'm right there with ya!!! lol! I am expecting to have the sleeve done by Dec or Jan so we may have close surgery dates!
  15. Girl what insurance do you have!? lol. Thank you for the info. I just switched to Anthem Blue Cross and they are not hard to get approval from either. Just have to visit dietician, psych, then get pre op!!
  16. Awesome! 3 months is not that long!! It's nuts bc time feels like it is.......draggin......along.........lol. But really I just started this whole process at the beginning of Oct!! lol
  17. O WOW! Nevermind the misinforming details. The comments have me SO VERY heated! People can be so cruel!! Ugh,thanks for sharing the link though, very informative and gives insight as to what "other people" think of this surgery. Oh and basically having your stomach stapled to reduce size is SOOO radical, but having your intestines re routed aren't?!?! People are nuts..
  18. That sounds so awesome!! Good luck at your consult! My older sis had gastric bypass in 08 and it didn't go too well. One of the reasons I started looking into the sleeve...I have been trying to get my other sis to get on board with me but she is scared!
