  1. Omgosh!! 14 days for you "Longer-life" How exciting!!!
  2. This thread was very informative! Thanks guys,I will def be using this advice after I get sleeved!
  3. Oh my goodness, that seems SOOO fast! WOW!!! I can only hope my process starts taking off after I attend the seminar!!! I live in a fairl high populated place and they seem to schedule out pretty far. For instance,I went ahead and scheduled my nut appt with my surgeons office and I couldn't get in till the 26th of November! Uck!!
  4. You are so welcome! I am actually in the process of switching insurance companies to Anthem Blue Cross and no I don't have to have the 6 month supervised diet. Just a statement that I have diet before and details on that. I just started the process back in the beginning of October when I told my doctor that I wanted to have the sleeve done. Then I called and scheduled the seminar so I am waiting on that!! My surgeons office informed me that once I attend the seminar, things will get rolling rather quickly. The rule is,seminar first, everything else after! When did your paperwork get submitted for approval??
  5. That's horrible!! Guess this whole process really shows who your true friends are!
  6. So know how you feel. When I told my family that I was going through the approval proccess, they acted like I offended them or something...you'd think they'd be happy for me??
  7. Good luck to you!!! I'm not sleeved yet so no advice on the approval thing. BUT I wanted to say congrats and I hope you get approved quickly and get your date soon!!! I want to be sleeved by the end of January so I can be on may way to being Summer ready for 2012!!!
  8. Yayyy!!! Congrats and good luck to you!!
  9. Thank you for your insight! I will probably end up waiting until after the seminar for everything. I want to see the surgeons dietician, and the first appt for that isn't until towards the end of november. My sister had gastric bypass and it was VERY hard for her both physically and emotionally. I know the sleeve won't be as bad as the bypass was,it doesn't entail as much. I already don't eat sweets, fried foods,or drink soda. I just eat ALOT. I feel like I'm hungry all the time,it sucks.
  10. We may be getting things done around the same time then!!! I am in the process of switching my insurance from Health Net to Anthem Blue Cross bc Health Net no longer covers the psych eval. So,I have the seminar, sleep study, and nut appts scheduled, all for November. But I have to wait until my insurance switches to Anthem Blue Cross to get the psych eval unless I wanna pay $150 outta pocket which I think I will just wait! Lol Good luck to you!!
  11. That video was awesome! Answered alot of questions! Thank you!
  12. I have researched it so much also! I really feel comfortable with getting the sleeve and can't wait!
  13. Yes girl I found that out today! I went to schedule my nut appt and the first available was on november 20 something!! LOL,can't remember the actual date at the moment,I believe it may be the 26th. And as far as the psych eval,he said he can have me in within the week but he would rather me attend the seminar first. So,I will just let go and let God,things will fall into place throughout November like they should! I am realistically expecting a 2012 surgery date!
  14. I haven't had mine yet, still completing all the requirements, but I am planning on doing the garments and also I am going to try the "IT Works" Body wraps,I heard they work great for tightening up the skin and taking off inches! I'm still fairly young,25,but I have kids and all and have about 130 to lose so I am very worried about extra skin...
  15. Girl me and you are on the same page!! lol,I just really wanna get it over with, heal up,and start on my new lifestyle as far as eating less and differently-and being able to exercise more, can't wait!!!! I am always slammed with appts for my kiddos so I have really had to squeeze these ones for me into a very tight schedule! I just had twins 9 months ago so I am used to everyone telling me how cute I am while pregs and getting all this attention lol now I am just the fat girl with cute kids and a hot husband....I can see all those looks from ppl like wth is he doin with her? Good thing he loves me bc I need his support!
  16. Oh yea,I can see where your coming from. My surgeons office has a dietician, but they just refer their patients to a psych. So we shall see. =)
  17. Aw how exciting!!!! Can't wait to hear your story and see your before and after pics!!!
  18. Welcome! I'm a newbie and I don't yet have a surgery date but I just wanted to tell you congrats!! Good luck to you!
  19. Oh thank you for that advice. I think then I may just schedule the dietician appt and then wait for the psych eval. Thanks!
  20. Hi guys! Just wondering did anyone have their Psych and Nutrician appts before the seminar? I am so antsy to go ahead and do as much as I can before the seminar-aside from the initial consult bc that HAS to be after the seminar which isn't until NOV 10th!!! I know,I know, not that long to wait but I am thinking of doing the psych and nut appts prior to the seminar. Only thing is I may have to pay out of pocket for the nutrician appt bc my insurance doesn't cover it which is why I am switching tomorrow but the switch won't be fully in effect until middle of next month-I don't want to wait! I just seriously need to calm down bc I am getting wayyy wrapped up in getting the sleeve. I can hardly think of anything else! And things like my husband pretty much making me go with him and the kids to Taco Bell for dinner tonight make it worse, which I refused and did not eat from there bc it's gross,my son wouldn't eat,the twins are too little to eat there,so it ended up just being my hubs and my 2 yr old daughter eating but yet we still had to all sit there. We couldn't order it to go bc he said he wanted us to all get out of the house as a family...Seriously,I could barely fit in the booth,I had to very uncomfortably squeeze into it...I wanted to cry so bad but I knew it would ruin everyone's night.. I haven't ate out in IDK how long bc we never get out all together as a family, obviously long enough to NOT realize that I couldn't fit in a restaurant booth! This is bad... Ok this turned into a rambling vent...lol. I feel better though! haha,ok so now I am probably gonna schedule my psych and nut eval tomorrow and get them over with lol!
  21. Welcome Mera! I am new here myself and I am pre-op so I can't give you much advice but I can say congrats on following through with something that will and seems like it already has made you healthier!
  22. OHHHH I am a bit ditzy! lol,ok so you're having your surgery in Fresno?? That's awesome! Good luck to you and keep us posted!
  23. I too am going through the process of having this surgery in a big part for my 4 children. They are my world, and I want to see my daughter's walk down the aisle one day. I want to see my son continue to accomplish things his doctors said he never would. But most of all I want them to have their mommy and know she is healthy!! I fear I can't do this being obese for years to come. If you feel you have exhausted all other options of losing the weight as well as keeping it off,and you feel this is the right decision,GO FOR IT!! Don't let anyone stand in your way of success! Your true friends will stay by your side. I know how you feel,I don't even have a surgery date yet and half my family isn't even talking to me! I love them and I wish it didn't have to be this way,but I am doing what's right for my life and my family(My kids, husband). As far as your fear of the risks of surgery,I have the same fears, but I have researched ALOT,the risks are very low and I know that making sure I follow up with my dr and listening to my body will make the risks even lower. Good luck!!!
