  1. this is normal do not fret I am assuming this will be gone soon plus more! Its normal to flucuate... do get too discouraged!!
  2. You are not a failure! Are you where you want to be completely? No. Nobody really ever is. I'm not!! I say you keep working at it-- thats the best you can do. Don't get down on yourself-- YOU ARE 100 POUNDS LIGHTER! that to me is amazing. Just keep trying. Most importantly do what makes you happy. Good luck and keep us posted.
  3. how long ago were you sleeved??
  4. Yes! Not for a few months though. I drink as I did preop :-)
  5. I did day 3 when I got home. The surgeon approved!
  6. couldn't have said it better myself!
  7. you are on 12 days of clear liquids??? that seems odd..... there is no protien in clear liquids usually. Seems like a good way to make your body weak for surgery? Any one else have any thoughts? I would not been able to do clear liquids only for 12 days pre-op. Post op yes.....
  8. Did he mean you would have another sleeve procedure or just add the DS? (Duodenal switch)
  9. I personally think most banders got the band cause they didnt want the RNY. Then they found out the band is horrific but still don't want the RNY...... the sleeve is the answer!! I love mine!
  10. Tha'ts ridiculous! I would bring something with you and explain to the person hassling you about it that you are on a post-operative diet. If they still dont allow it, sneak it in next time! (I always do at the movies....)
  11. I also needed something solid in my life for the preop diet. I hated the carnation instant breakfast I was supposed to drink! I ate a lot of cottage cheese-- I even told my NP at the surgeons office and basically got her blessing except when I had to do clear liquids only the day before. Lets not fool ourselves. Restrictive diets of any kind are SUPER HARD, if they were not everyone would be thin.
  12. everyone is differrent but I lost most of my weight at the 1200-1800 calorie mark. Maintaining at 2000 or so.....
  13. you are beautiful! before and after. you are just glowing now!
  14. congrats!! you look so good!
  15. my doc says its ok in moderation like EVERYTHING else post op, including alcohol and such. I have a medium iced vanilla latte everyday, a diet coke everyday, and I have about 3 beers a week on average! Made goal in 8 months, easily maintain my weight, and I am happy and healthy, and not deprived.
  16. I agree! I feel like a few certain people in my life that have lost a lot of weight (and a few on this site for that matter) have hopped on their high horses and make others feel bad. Even just for asking questions or making not so good food choices and confessing. It makes me feel mad/ hurt too, but all we can do is control our own actions and support others that are struggling.
  17. awesome girl!!! keep up the good work!!
  18. don't give up yet. you are definitely having the dreaded stall that happens 3-4 weeks post op. you will lose more!!!! It happens to almost all of us. I went through the same feeling.
  19. How many days of liquid diet did you have to do? 2 weeks How much weight did you lose during it? 6 pounds :-( How many days (if any) did you have to stay at the hospital? 2 Did you have any complications?)none :-) How long after surgery did you try to eat normal food? (non-puréed, etc) 1 month How soon after surgery did you feel mostly or fully back to normal? 2 months Please share any extra comments about things you weren't expecting or tips: best decision I ever made!!!
  20. I am not concerned about getting to small witht he sleeve... I am more concerned with not keeping enough weight off... Unfortunately I think most of us should be more concerned about that! I have easily gained 3-5 pounds a few times and have had to be careful to lose those again!!!!
  21. I ate 1200-1600 for weight loss, maintaining at 2000 :-)
  22. I was getting the lapband- surgery scheduled and all== then I found this forum and switched. SOOOOOO GLAD :-)
  23. I lost some starting at 3.5 months out. It was traumatizing at the time. But I look normal and always did. It's just hard to see so much hair in the drain and brush. It will be ok! You will not go bald and if you lose hair it does grow back!
  24. I eat 1500-2000 a day and have been maintaining since 8.5 months out.
