  1. Sorry you were sick, dehydration in itself can make you nauseous. I'm glad you're home now and back to posting. I hope it helped and you're feeling better.
  2. Congrats!! That's wonderful news!
  3. I love it, that's so wonderful!! Soooo happy for you, and I totally know the feeling. The Sleeve is the gift to ourselves that keeps on giving.
  4. Hmmm sounds odd, is this just in your sleeve, or are you feeling it all over your body? Could be a nerve issue, or a Vitamin deficiency? You probably should discuss with your Dr and have some lab work done. Let us know what you find out and I hope you feel better soon.
  5. No, the staples don't dissolve, but the skin scars over them and seals in a way. It may be the stitches in our incisions you are thinking of that dissolves.
  6. Hi, I totally agree about Dr Kelly! He really is a class act and totally knows his stuff. I'm so happy you are getting your sleeve! Please update us as soon as you feel up to it. I am confident you will have just as easy of a recovery as I did with Dr Kelly as your surgeon. Take Care!
  7. Wow, you are doing fabulous and so close to goal!! Congrats on your success, I know you probably feel so much better. Way to rock that sleeve!
  8. My day by day detailed experience is on my profile. My cost was $5500 which included everything but tipping $ and if I wanted broth at the hotel, i bought that. If you want to go shopping, you may need more. My sister didn't have any additional costs except for her meals.
  9. Congrats on being sleeved!!! You sound like you're in pretty good spirits despite the rough start, good for you for keeping a good attitude. Keep repeating the mantra: It gets better everyday!! Happy for you!
  10. I'm sorry you had to go but so glad you did. You're right, a threat can't make it easier. You will be better off afterwards, and the swelling in your sleeve should start going down significantly at 4-6 wks. Then maybe getting fluids in will be easier. I hope you feel better soon sweetie.
  11. I love the kitty names, so cute!!! Spoticus and Cleocatra made me giggle lol.
  12. Congrats on being sleeved!!! Now you have one of the smallest tummies Welcome to the Losers Bench!
  13. :hititbanana: This one cracks me up too, lol
  14. I messaged you privately, I would be interested in either line.
  15. Congrats on being a yr out with your sleeve! Sounds like you have a learned a lot about eating, your sleeve, and even yourself. Thanks for sharing in such detail too. Your success story is very inspiring!!
  16. That doesn't sound fun at all!! But the positive is, you SHOULD stop throwing up afterwards? I hope you feel much better soon!!
  17. Congrats on being sleeved!! Wow, sounds rough, but it does get better each and every day!! Hang in there.
  18. :purplebananna: That's awesome!!
  19. Sorry to hear you are having problems moving to the next food phase. We all have swelling after getting Sleeved, others for longer than others. I think the swelling lasts 4-6 wks, and of course the healing goes on for a lot longer. So you may want to try really soft and really moist food, use plain greek yogurt to make dips for meats and such. If you are going to eat an scrambled egg, try to not cook it very done, so it's not dry. Cottage cheese is an excellent protein source, you can add a little cinnamon and stevia or splenda. Or even applesauce or something for flavor. Don't get discouraged, it just takes some time to learn what our sleeve likes, and to adjust to our new style of eating and how much we can eat. It's kind of natural, try not to stress and try a few bites at a time to see how your sleeve is going to react.
  20. Congrats, that's amazing! You look wonderful! :cheer2:
  21. Gottago, I am not sure if Dr Kelly is certified in the US, but here's this info: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/10/prweb8910330.htm Also can you explain why ALighterMe still has Dr Kelly's pics and info on their website?
  22. Wow, you're doing great! Congrats!! :cheer2:
  23. Congrats on being sleeved!! How did they determine your BMI was higher than 48? Did they check your height? Good luck to you on an easy and speedy recovery!
  24. You could clip it closer to your skin if it's aggravating you. Mine were the dis-solvable kind, so you are ok if your Dr didn't tell you to come back in to have stitches removed.
  25. I don't know about the other stuff, but I know I've always been able to eat a good bit of cottage cheese too, so I try to be careful with it. But it's really moist and not as dense as chicken, tuna, etc.
