  1. Thanks for updating us, this sounded scary!! Glad the Dr said all is ok.
  2. I had absolutely no problems with going to Tijuana. I can't speak for the other, but I think there have been others go there with no issues as well. Good luck!
  3. In the liquid and mushies stage, counting carbs is not as important, at least not for me. I didn't worry about it a whole lot till I was on solids.
  4. Congrats!! You're doing great!
  5. Is the texture of the spaghetti squash similar to reg spaghetti? I am not into veggies that much, but I've heard it's a good substitute and the pics of it look a lot like spaghetti. I am curious and may try it if I can find it in stores around here.
  6. Congrats, that's so awesome!!! So very happy for you my friend!
  7. Absolutely it counts!! I am thrilled every time I use a towel and it wraps around me so much. It used to barely meet. So it's weird how some days I feel so huge but sometimes it's the little things that are a reminder, like how much space between me and the steering wheel of my car. Or fitting easily into a booth in a restaurant. These things make me realize that yes, I have lost a lot of weight and tons of inches, no matter how slow the lbs are dropping.
  8. I would see if they offer a few guest visits to try it out and see how you feel about it. That's what I did with the Wellness Center, and discovered I loved it. But I still didn't want to be locked into a long term contract. Luckily they offered a special 3 month option where I go. I like the pool, the elliptical machines, the weight machines, and the walking track. They also offer Yoga and Tai Chi classes that I want to try too. But yeah, any movement is better than none, it's just a matter of finding something you can enjoy and will stick with because you enjoy it.
  9. I don't know why, but my mind has changed a lot since being sleeved. I barely pay attention to people around me at restaurants, because I am there to enjoy a meal out and the company of whoever is with me. But if I notice someone being blatantly rude, I will ask to be moved to a different seat. Remember you are the patron there, and it's their job to make YOU happy and give you a good experience. Also, I have learned to handle the Servers differently when questioned about my small amounts. I ask for a go box then immediately go back to talking or whatever i was doing. I don't continue looking at them for more conversation or make them feel they have the right to question me. If I am questioned, I say "I'm full" then I smile and look away. That is the only thing they need to know, I don't have to make excuses to them. They don't have to know WHY I am full. I am sure naturally thin people don't have to explain why they don't want more food. But what it sounds like happened to me, is this lady was obviously jealous of your self-control with your portions and wanted to act like she had it. So basically she was jealous and insecure. There are a lot of people in this world who we will never make happy. As someone else said, this is the same person that would make snide remarks if we ate a lot of food too. That's because they are unhappy with themselves, and I have learned and accepted that I don't have to make everyone happy, nor do I need others approval. That has been a struggle for me, because I've been a "people pleaser" all of my life due to childhood issues of abandonment and neglect. It's an adjustment, but it gets easier as we get used to our new eating lifestyle.
  10. Barbie, I'm sorry I am just now seeing this post. All you need to do to get your ticker in your signature is do the following: Go to tickerfactory.com or anywhere to create a ticker go to your profile. right side of screen there's a black button that says "Edit my profile" left side of screen there's a list of options, click on "signature" copy/paste your ticker code into the edit signature box click on "save changes" at the bottom You can also write anything in there with it, such as your surgeons name and surgery date if you like. I hope this helps you!
  11. Oh wow, you have made amazing progress and you are beautiful girl!! Congrats to you, and way to rock that sleeve!!
  12. I'm so sorry to hear about your post-op complications! I pray that it heals quickly for you. On the heartburn part of it, I don't know for sure, but I would guess it is acid. Even those of us who do not have leaks and stents have this issue post-op from being sleeved and have to use PPI/acid reducers. I don't know if you are able to take medications with your situation, ask your Dr about getting this prescribed. If you are already on something, you may have to temporarily increase it. Wishing you the best with your recovery, and please continue to come here for support.
  13. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well! Other than the headache and fatigue, do you have any other pain, like your sleeve? Do you have a fever? I hope you feel better soon, please let us know what the Dr says.
  14. Congrats Heather and good luck on the marathon and have fun!
  15. My hubby goes to the wellness center and swims laps with me, we both enjoy it and gives us something to do other than sit in front of the tv. We enjoy relaxing in the therapy pool after swimming laps. It's so relaxing! We have also walked together.
  16. I have a huge jar of this and use it in recipes, to cook with, for skin and hair. I also have the supplements. I haven't been using it long, but excited about the benefits of it.
  17. Yay Congrats!! Swimming is my absolutely favorite thing to do. I am very self conscious about how I look in a bathing suit too, so I hadn't been in yrs and yrs. But thankfully it worked out, I live in a small town and as of right now, at the time of night I usually go swimming, there is no one else in the pool! I really enjoy the privacy, but the few times a few ladies have been leaving when i get there, I am not really ashamed of being in the suit either. I imagine more people will start using the pool now that we are having some warmer days though.
  18. Congrats!! Sounds like you are doing well and enjoying the journey, good for you!!
