A New Sleeve For Dooter

Hey all! I had trouble with the hospital internet, so now that I'm back at the hotel, this is the first chance i've had to check in. Surgery went well, my hernia fixed as well. I've been having a recurring pain that feels like a vise has gripped my stomach then releases. The hospital doc says that some people get this and some don't. Darn. Should go away soon. I did spend the first night and morning throwing up. I was strict NPO until the upper g.i. the next morning, so a bunch of junk kept collecting in my throat while i slept. Then I'd wake up and swallow and immediately hurl. Dr. Kim assured me I didn't bust anything. Passed the leak test and then right away on to sip sip walk walk...ad nauseum. I just now tried to take a gas x strip to see if that would relieve any of my discomforts...well....it came back up too. :s Ok...note to self. Time to walk....then maybe a nap as a reward... ;) We were going to leave Dallas for albuquerque on Friday, but now I'm thinking Monday. This is a pretty hard ride, but I'm glad to be on the other side of the major hump. (That WAS the major hump, right???)

Congrats and feel better.

Sorry you are off to a rough start. Just remember it gets easier every day. Especially as you see the scale go down and the clothes get worse. You'll realize this was all worth it. If it's not a problem I would say definitely stay with your mom the few extra days and let her pamper you!

Good luck. And sip sip sip.

Welcome!!! It gets better each day!!! Wooo-whoooo!!!

Yayyy! You have arrived to the BIG LOSER'S CLUB! It will get better....... CONGRATS! ;)

Congrats lady!!! Looks like you are doing great :)

I wish you get better soon :) so glad everything went well

Doooooottttteeeeeerrrrrssssss.......

You did it! Long time coming. Welcome. I am so happy for you. I will be praying for a speedy recovery. Take it easy for awhile. :)

Welcome and congratulations. Yay, you made it! You will have both good and bad times, just take it one day at a time. Keep us posted.

Hooray for you! I've been wondering when you were going to update! I'm sure you will be feeling better soon, and that you will be glad for the extra days before the long trek home. Congratulations!

Congrats on being sleeved!!! You sound like you're in pretty good spirits despite the rough start, good for you for keeping a good attitude. Keep repeating the mantra: It gets better everyday!! Happy for you!

:)

My sleeve was Monday too and I had (have) all the same symptoms and issues! Why a rough road! Sf Popsicles have helped get my fluids in because I can't. Seem to drink more than a teaspoon of water! Now being told only drink distiller water and warm peppermint tea, and broth. So hope that works! Having my back rubbed to get out the burps is great too! Lots to learn and go through and the silver lining is this will pass and we will feel normal again soon! Even though I cried in pain all night last night, I don't regret it!!!

Dooooooooter so happy for you...the nausea is a b*%*h but it does get better daily, some people just get it worst than others...wishing you a speedy recovery...

Thanks for the well wishes all!

Oh boy. Mom brought pizza into the hotel room for the boys. That was the most horrid smell I have ever smelled in my entire life! It was all I could do to not barf! PBJ for them until we leave! OH, and my mouth keeps getting full of bubbles! What's that?!?

Momof4- I pray things smooth out for you!
