Saturday I made it to underland I am 199.4. I thought it would never happen for me and I was actually telling myself if I never get there that I’ll be fine with the weight that I’ve lost so far. Well now that I’m here I’m back in the game, ready to focus on my goal, my doctor would like to see me at 160 but I think that I might be comfortable at 180 or 175, but this might just be me doubting that I’ll ever be 160 and healthy. What a journey this has been, what a trip. No regrets I love my sleeve and I could not have made it this far on my own. I hope you all are doing well thanks for the support.

I'm going to be brutally honest here. I was in traffic court yesterday and there were these two very large women. One had a cane and the other a walker. They were in their 30s-40s. They had to sit down in the seats and they could only manage to turn sideways and somewhat sit on the edge of the seats. One young man in his 20s didn't even really fit through the gate to go see the commissioner.
I was considering my life and how it has changed dramatically in only 6 months. This past week I reached the summit of a 10,000 ft. peak.. Seven months ago, you couldn't get me to walk down the street. I was even starting to avoid friend's parties.
I wasn't rude and didn't stare, but I started looking at these people who have so much life ahead of them. Out in line 1 out of 10 people were probably morbidly or super morbidly obese.
I thanked God for my blessings and just went to work.
Man, I want to tell everyone about this. Eggface is going to be on Ricki Lake, but we need more info out there.

This is why I adore you, Tina! Besides that million-dollar, million-watt smile, you have a million-dollar, million-watt personality! I love the Tina-isms and I'm in awe of your "only" 70 pounds lost! LOL That's an amazing amount of weight lost at "only" six months out!
Your post is also one of the reasons that I love this community. I can remember reading your pre-op posts and trying to give you a bit of encouragment, and look at you NOW! You're the one passing along what you've learned from your Sleevina! I see that pattern every day here and I think it's great!
    Go Tina! Go Tina!!!

Okay... I can hardly believe that it's been 6 months already!!! Seems like only yesterday I couldn't fit into a booth at Texas Roadhouse, but it's actually been over 17 months... Feels like I was just complaining about how my dumb insurance company requires 6 month medically supervised diet... but that's been 12 months ago.. and then I met my Sleevina...
The past 6 months have been the most mentally engaging 26 and a half weeks of my life!!! It's been a challenge to get up each day and not be consumed by the RULES, but respecting them and not looking at them as BAD... but as parameters and boundaries that keep my Sleevina working optimally.... So, this journey is definitely not for the faint at heart or those who are seeking to somehow become whole after losing weight.. Wholeness comes from knowing yourself, outside of physical parameters and having the strength to work hard and change the things that aren't "meshing" with the real you.. Anyway.. here are my stats since I started this journey...
    HW: 384
    CW: 314
    Clothing sizes:
    Highest: 30/32-4X in everything
Current 20/22 - 1X (I still struggle to purchase them!!)
    Pre-surgery Shoe Size: 11WW
    Current: 10W
    Bra Size
    Pre- 48 DD
    Current- 42D
    Exercise Level:
Pre- Nonexistent due to back injury and poor left side dorsiflexion
Post- aqua aerobics, stationery bike, (ELLIPTICAL.. go figure), lots of walking
    Greatest SUCCESS to date:
I'm mentoring 2 young ladies that I met recently..One was sleeved 3 weeks ago, the other had RNY 5 weeks ago.. I get an opportunity to share my ups and downs, give encouragement and advice, PLUS receive it!! Through it all, I don't have any regrets...
Yesterday while biking away in the gym, this guy walks up to me and tells me I have enviable legs and calves... I laughed and said thanks... I wanted to say, please move so I can finish my workout.. This is an NSV because I love men and he was kind of cute.. but I wanted to finish strong and he was being a distraction!!! That's a huge step for me... I'm determined to put on blinders to all distractions, negativity, unhealthy weights (people, mindsets, attitudes, etc) and baggage that seeks to impede my journey towards my goals...They're not worth the time, energy and effort!! BUT I AM WORTH IT!!!
If you are at goals and in maintenance, congrats.. If you are still on the journey to goal, congrats and don't lose sight of it... remember everyday you get closer, if you make the right decisions...if you are a NEWBIE, welcome!!! Trust me it gets better!! And if you are comtemplating getting sleeved, don't hesitate.. but prepare to have your life totally altered in ways you can't imagine...Remember, you have to know that you are worth whatever dollar amount it costs, however long the pre-op diet it, and whatever fiery hoop you have to jump through... Get all the facts, but don't sell yourself and your loved ones short.. Yes, my life has changed, yes... I had to leave some people behind.. but, I found myself again!!! And I have to say... she's pretty darn cool!!! I like me a lot!!
I haven't dropped a huge amount of weight (in pounds), but I have left a HUGE amount of disgust, low-confidence, defeat and many other things synonomous with CRAP along the way...
    A few Tina-isms:
Your journey is yours!!! You can't expect it to be exactly like someone else's...
Don't compare yourself to anyone else.. Compare yourself to YOU!!.. Look at old pics, keep track of your measurements, do a side by side comparison... trust me, you'll see the difference
Enjoy your journey!!! If you do it grudgingly, the smallest excuse is all you'll need not to work out, not to drink Water, not to refrain from high calorie, but delicious stuff that slows/stalls your progress
Find an activity that you LOVE to do.. I LOVE aqua aerobics... I don't see it as excercise (although Jenna the Beast works the HECK out of me!!)... it's fun, burns lots of calories and helps tone the whole body
Affirm yourself!! Positive self affirmations work wonders when you are struggling to finish that last mile or last 5 minutes of a workout.. Yes, hearing it from others is good.. but say something good about yourself.
Extend the same love, support, grace, mercy and consideration to yourself, as you lavish on others.. You're human too right??
Don't make excuses, MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

IDT that it is possible that you stretched it out this 1 time, although you did just find out about a bad habit that will allow you to eat more. I suggest going back to no eating 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after drinking. Don’t be hard on yourself you are learning new habits and it takes time.

Onderland is that chick at the party that flirts with you all night, makes out with you in the laundry room, and then at the end of the night says shes not that kind of girl...
Right now were making out in the laundry room but I have a feeling the next time I step on the scale she'll tell me she's not that kind of girl... Weighing in at 199.8 today but we'll see what Saturday brings!

Man, that does really suck (pardon my french). But... What would it look like if we put a positive spin on it??
I SERIOUSLY PRAY that your mom gets her new heart and has no complications!
After you have your surgery and rock your sleeve, here is what you can do:
1 - know that you would have paid double to get this life altering surgery.
2 - get a kick-a$$ job with your rockin' new look
3 - send pics to your lousy cheating "love of your life" (sorry if you plan to take him back but you shouldn't you deserve better!!!!!!!!) and show him what he's missing out on
4 - spend the better part of some night with a knight in shining armor that won't cheat on you - without taking a cigarette break!
5 - get healthy and walk and exercise and be with your mom for many happy and healthy years to come!
I don't mean this disrespectfully in any way. I know life doles out lemons sometimes in huge quantities. Hang in there, it will all be worth it. YOU are worth it!

I assume you are in solids phase? If so, you can still try some chinese -- very small quantities, and request that they dont use much oil. I tried chinese a month ago and had no issues. Just ordered a chicken manchurian - no/less oil - and shared it with my sis. It tasted great and my restriction hit pretty soon - I only had like 3 pieces.
BUT - if are not in solids phase yet, you may need to wait a bit and confirm with your nutritionist before you start.
All the best with your weight loss!!

Keep some chewable papaya enzyme at home. That's what my Doctor recommends when you have eaten too much and have that stuck full feeling.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen... One week out today and I just ate WAY too fast and too much. OUCH!!
I ate a little more than a 1/2 cup of cream of wheat, and I think I reverted to my old ways of eating and wasn't mindful of taking in a little bit at a time. Now I am super uncomfortable. I'm hoping that this horrible feeling will pass soon. I'm not sure what I can do to feel better other than wait a bit (and burp!).
So, if you are reading this and you are early out from surgery...don't forgot to eat slowly and take breaks between spoonfuls! I hope that I have learned my lesson.
Anyone have other advice? I should probably have been using a baby spoon as well (I was using a teaspoon). And, it would have been better for me to have only taken 1/4 cup to start with... Guess this process is full of trial and error...and lots of practice.

Well at 298, I am finally in Twoterville or Twoderland. Both sound great to me. Uncle Joe votes for Twoterville but just go ask Alice about Twoderland. Was it the blue pill or the red pill? I think it is the Pre-Op Diet.

    Hello my wonderful Sleeve family!!!!
This is my update at 5 months, 5 days!!! It seems like only yesterday I was complaining about my 6 month pre-op program... and now, I'm over 5 months out!!!
Let me say, I love SLEEVINA!!! She's saved my life.. but I have to admit she SLAYS me sometimes... but keeps me in line!!!
Regrets:... Just 1.. well, maybe 2... first, I wish I would have worked a little hard during my 6 month MSWL program.. especially with exercise... the only other regret is that I wasn't open with a lot of my family and friends from the beginning, thus missing out of their support from the beginning...
Reality:... LOL... well, I'm not the same person I was physically, emotionally or socially... I was prepared for the physical.. well, a little.. but the emotional upheaval that has transpired in my life has been healthy, hard and very necessary.. I believe I am a better person.. more grounded, compassionate and active in trying to help others make decisions that will transform their lives... The social aspect is a trip... mainly because.. I've always been a social butterfly, now... it's crazy the attention and stuff.. needless to say, I'm a little flattered and lot suspicious!!! LOL...
I've resigned myself to wearing dresses for the summer!!! I've not lost my luscious legs (Thank God!!)... I'm not including numbers in this update.. I'm doing weight and measurements for my 6 month post op update...
Rules: I cannot miss my water!! I cannot eat cake (I was, not Sleevina doesn't like sweets anymore YEAH!! Boo!!) LOL..
I just want to encourage those who need it... You can do this... Each day, each minute, dedicate yourself to the process of transformation, the work and yourself!!!
    Love and hugs!!
    Tina

So you know how sometimes the weight can't come off fast enough, and we tend to convince ourselves that 1,2 or 3 pounds a week isn't enought. Well today I went for a 10 mile bike ride, and let me tell you, I felt the difference. I'm down 50# from my highest weight, but wow the difference in my stamina and endurance is amazing. I just had to throw it out there get physical and if your mind won't let you see your physical changes your body sure does let you feel them. I love my sleeve.

I have secretly been wanting to run into a certain ex-boyfriend of mine. I dated him for awhile before I had my surgery and he told a friend of mine after we broke up that the reason we broke up was because I was fat. Not that he had a problem with it but that I had the problem with it and I was miserable about it. He told her that if I wanted to do something about it I could and just not eat as much. hahhahhahaha! We all know how easy that is. So I haven't seen him in nearly a year and ran into him yesterday. He took a double take before he realized who I was and walked over to speak to me. The weird thing is no words came out of his mouth. He just stood there looking at me....... I finally said hello to break the tension and still all he could say was "WOW". I said thank you and walked off. This helped me realize two things. 1. All this hard work I put into this was WELL worth it. and 2. He was right. I had to make the choice to "do something about it". I would do it again in a heart beat just so I could see the look on his face again!
