  1. You will be recovering on my 1 year sleeveavsry with Dr Aceves. I'm down 111lbs and so picture yourself giving courage to someone when you are a year out. Sitting close to your goal, loving life. You can do this, it will be the most amazing ride of your life!
  2. I wish wish wish I had done this in my 20s! You are in the best hands in the world IMO and will be sleeved just a few days after my year sleeveaversary. Imagine yourself this time next year at your goal and GO!
  3. Blast away here are my thoughts. If I go out to dinner I will allow myself a coke. I never drink the whole thing. I do NOT buy it and bring it home though because I can drink my day's allotment in calories in just a matter of hours and I do NOT want to be fat again. I don't buy that it stretches your sleeve. It wouldn't even inflate a balloon and I don't believe that our stomach is as thin and stretchy as a balloon. It's a slippery slope, like ice cream. Your sleeve will not keep you from drinking too much and if you are in the losing phase you should choose your sweets wisely. That said if I want a coke I want a coke, not Water, not crystal light, a coke.
  4. Some places you can order a 1/2 entree but not at all. I worked food service for years and I would let ppl order off the kids menu if they asked. I always add in, "Don't worry, I don't tip based on the bill." Because they are giving the same amount of service I let them know that I'll still tip them as if I ordered an adult meal. As for fastfood I order a Jr bacon cheese burger and leave the bottom bun off and a value size drink. Other places I just order what I want and let it go in the trash, at least it's not going on my backside.
  5. You are so pretty and such an inspiration and light on this board. Congrats!
  6. Funny you should say that, I believe Dr Almanza buys adspace on this site while the other Drs you mentioned kelly and Aceves don't. There used to be a HUGE thread about all the screw ups with Bentacourt and Almanza and the thread got lost when the site was revamped.
  7. I think i'd get enough "sensation" from just looking at my new nipples!
  8. I don't know. I've had great success with my sleeve so far but I worry about regaining in the future. Some days I wish I had the DS to be sure that I won't ever get really fat again one day. On the other hand I've seen 2 ppl I know in the hospital from complications. The malabsorption is very real and so scare of being malnutritioned. Also DS have to plan their day carefully so they don't eat things that gives them gas or if they have to poop because it smells GAWD awful. I'm happy I had the sleeve and I'd do it over again, same surgery. However it is important to decide what is best for you.
  9. My surgery was 8750 if memory serves, call Nina and talk to her. She's great.
  10. Are you allowed to have a cheese burger this early out?
  11. Actually the sleeve has been done for many years for people who have had stomach cancer or other issues. Not totally as a weight loss tool. So in 20-30 years what do you think will happen? You will need to gain back some weight? In what I've seen there haven't been a lot of plication success stories and even it has caused more complications. Research carefully. JMO but no way would i have plication, seems like a gimic to me.
  12. First off hugs to you. Second Get the F out of there. We are adults for him to be treating you this way is one thing but you said he's starting to do it to your kids. NO WAY! Those kids depend on you to make the best choices for you and especially for them. That right there would have my ass flying out the door. So pick up your skinny ass, your great kids and leave.
  13. Okay I change my answer to this. If anyone ever asks I'm totally telling them I wrestled (and won) a black bear!
  14. You can hardly see mine anymore but you could always say you had a hernia or that you got a cut. There is really only one 1/2 inch long scar on my stomach that doesn't look like it could have bene a bad mosquito bite.
  15. I did the same thing and I gained 10lbs in a matter of weeks. Because of that 10lbs I have stretchmarks on my upper outter arms. From my shoulders to my elbows. They weren't there before but after that rapid weight gain they came on. OH how I regret all that food!
  16. I was just thinking about you the other day! You look amazing! Congrats!!
  17. You can see my weightloss in my ticker. I'd forsure be at goal had I not slipped up so many times but hey, slipping up is what I do best
  18. Nah I've heard stuff like that happening before. Not that strange at all.
  19. Becareful, I think i've read another post of your's like this. You may cause yourself to get a leak in your staple line by putting so much pressure on a new sleeve. If you think that's something to sneeze at, it's not. My friend had the DS, lost 40lbs to be put on TPN (iv nutrition) for 3 weeks where she gained back almost 30lbs setting her weight loss back, and that's the least of your worries if you have a leak.
  20. I didn't even know I had one but he repaired it for free!
  21. hunger pains or sounds? My tummy talks to me all the time.
  22. Going through this now with several friends including family members. They say things now they wouldn't have dreamed to before. I suppose they think I lost my balls with my surgery??
  23. Fredricks of HOLLYWOOD! They have amazing naughty/nice stuff and it fits so well.
