Biggest Loser
I don't know why it is, but every time I see the finale of that show, I always cry. haha. Maybe because it's something I have to identify with. meh. Anyway, Bernie was AWESOME! I'm so happy he won. He totally deserved it.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
First of all, the internet shortening of words and/or phrases is LITERALLY (pun intended) the most irritating thing in the world. I would seriously jump through the screen and punch the bastard in the nose. I mean, I know that taking two seconds out of you EVER SO precious life would be the end of the world, I know, but if the need arises to continue doing this, just remember that anyone mildly intelligent who sees this thinks you're an idiot and you are a pointless existence. At your earliest convenience, please shove the word up your rear. Thanks. :-) *Reason: Stupid people who do the U, RU, NMU? thing give me migranes. haha*

Oh. My. God. *looking for what to say* Holy...wow... and you said I looked good...... Beautiful girl thinks I'm attractive = As Ron White's dog said, "It's gonna be a good day, Tater. It's gonna be a good day." hahahaha.

How soon after can i drink?
Can you? Unless there's another reason why you shouldn't, there shouldn't be a problem. Should you? Small amounts are okay. It's high calorie, so keep that in mind. That and if you eat anything with it your body is going to store all of the calories because your body is ONLY worried about getting rid of the alcohol.

Cost of Shakes and Liquid diet
Stay away from the high carb stuff. I probably spend MAYBE $40/month in groceries. GOTTA love the band. haha.

Exercise
Well, I'm doing stuff 6 days a week. 3 days of weight training and 3 days of cardio interval training. I will tell you, though, sometimes it is a pain in the arse. Seriously, though, if you really want to see results, don't slack. The more muscle you have or work, the more fat you will burn and ultimately be happy.

post op... how long before resuming moderate exercise?
Keeping in mind that EVERYONE is different because we all have different surgeons, but as a general rule, I agree with Tulip on this one.

Alcoholic beverages?
My suggestion is to slow down, but you don't need to stop. The problem is that alcohol is high calorie. I RARELY ever drink anymore, but that's just me. Think of it this way, one or two glasses of beer or wine per day is actually good for your heart. :-)

So, I'll never be 125?
Here, I'll make it simple for you. You will lose as much as you WANT and MAKE yourself lose. Period. End of story. No one says it is easy, but it can still get done. Yes, we have a little help, but it's 98% mental. It's not hard to get in the same amount of calories we used to if we want it bad enough.

1/2 a cup? I don't think so...
Never been to the support groups. You know, I really should have gone and I may go now, but I never had the drive to. I'm a really stubborn guy, what can I say? haha. I hope everything is going well for you!

FREE!!! Any NYC bandsters want some Slimfast Optima?
If they weren't so high carb (50g) and I lived closer, I'd take them off your hands! Good luck!

New to exercise...help
Just take it slow and build up. If you rush things, you'll probably get injured, so take it easy, but increase everything 2-3 minutes every week or so. Give it a bit, then worry about weight training.

How long did you wait to drive after surgery?
What she said. :rolleyes2:

Tell me a story...
Well, I honestly can't think of a better decision that I have made in my entire life. I don't miss eating my HUGE-ANTIC portions and gaining more and more weight. Being down at 211, there are some benefits from being 300 before. haha. Oh, and I know I'm a guy, so I'm going to try to make the benefits as uni-sex as possible. haha. More energy Ability to run WAY longer than before. Doesn't matter what you are, sex gets better. haha. My confidence level shot through the roof. I can shop at Abercrombie and whatever seemingly pretentious store I feel like. People don't think I'm a pig by looking at an empty plate or three. *UPDATE* Ignoring the fact that I have an awesome girlfriend, being glared at now and again by the opposite sex doesn't hurt. haha. I'll put more as I can think of it. :rolleyes2:

Drink some stuff to clean you out
I never had to take any laxative pre-op, thank god. I hate it so much. haha. I would rather just about anything else happen except for GI discomfort.

How soon after can i drink?
As far as physical complications go, I couldn't see any and I haven't had any problems whatsoever with the occasional drink. I rarely ever drink, though. Keep in mind, though, that 1-2 glasses of red wine or beer is actually good for the heart. For what it's worth.

Tylenol Cold preop?
Honestly, a tylenol cold pill wouldn't hurt in small amounts. They are just concerned about thinning out your blood. Any NSAIDs can do it, i.e. Advil, Aleve, ibuprofen, naprosyn, among a few others. To be BRUTALLY honest, it probably wouldn't matter too much if you took a very small amount, but there are reasons why they advise against it. Simply, Tylenol Cold and Sinus probably wouldn't hurt, but if you do take it pre-op, I would cut it out 48 to 72ish hours beforehand. There are things in there that may or may not be good for surgery.

dietition says if I dont follow diet..........
Bingo. The size of the liver has a LOT to do with the surgeon's decision to continue with the surgery or not.

New-Anyone else in Tucson?
This has got to get annoying, but I still think we should do a Tucson meetup. hahaha.
-
So I need a refresher guys!
She speaks the truth...aaaaaaaaaaand begin.

Liquid Diet = Stupid!! Why????
I know for a fact that you do the 48 hour pre-op diet for an empty stomach before surgery. A lot of times, the anesthesia will give you diarrhea RIGHT after surgery if you had anything in the GI tract. As far as the 2-3 week pre-op diet, from what I know, it's for patients who have a really high BMI and subsequently have a large liver because of it. The less that the liver is used, the smaller it gets. The liver makes for a more difficult and complication ridden surgery. I could be wrong, but this is what I've heard from TONS of surgeons.

OMG I finally ate sushi!!
I love sushi, but sashimi (raw fish) is better. hahaha.

My doctor told me no blood pressure medication?
I used to have a bit of a high BP, but now that I'm down 80lbs, I'm hovering right around 120/80. Yay for the band. hahaha.
