  1. Thanks ladies. I had some homemade icecream left from a family reunion on Saturday. I love my homemade vanilla. I was good only one snack today- small meals and tried to listen to my body - drink when I'm not sure if it's hunger or not- eat only when really hungry. Thankfully I was able to keep my sugar in control today!! Starting to feel a little better and controlling my sugar better, by being careful to eat more protein and few carbs.

  2. Thanks all! We have a 3 day weekend coming, but it is full. The normal - grocery time and cleaning the house. My BFF had a baby yesterday, so we are going an hour north to see them and meet our new godson. Sunday we are going to my moms, because we haven't seen them in a couple of weeks. Monday I hope to get a little rest and go out for our anniversary dinner. The hubs and I will have been married 4 years on Sept 5, but we know we won't be able to celebrate during the week.

I hit the bed about 8:00 last night and got up at my normal 5 am. I however, feel tired already. Don't know what's wrong with me. All I want to do is sleep and eat. Have a doctor's appointment next week, hopefully they will do blood work and see what's up.

  3. Thanks all- I am my own worst enemy. I had hoped I would have lost more by this point. I have been at the same zone for 3 months, I feel like I may be stuck. OH, well- the stress of my work life at the moment isn't helping much. My NUT said that I need to try to maintain for now until the stress level dies down and then try to start losing again. I guess I need to take that advice.

  4. Yep, Missy a big black bear. I am sure he was just passing through, but I'd rather give him a wide birth. We are use to seeing raccoons and other creatures, but a bear is to much.

Just hit the elliptical for 30 min and got 1.5 miles. Not to bad since it's been months since I've been on it. Sang my way through the 30 min. Now sobbing wet from sweat, but feel like I could tackle the world. Glad I did it. Now just to hit the other days.

    Thanks for the support.

  5. Missy, I agree I must find something I enjoy. While I do like to walk, I fear walking the trail behind the house along- there was a bear spotted on it a couple weeks ago. I don't do bears!!!

Also, I have asthma, while it is better since losing 60lbs, it isn't gone. The extreme heat days and the extreme cold days = attacks for me.

I guess I better form a loving relationship with the elliptical.

I to love to mow my lawn - push mow it. I love working in my garden, but at this point it doesn't need me with the monsoon's we have had here in NC.

  6. You don't have to get stuck. You have less chance of getting stuck if you eat slow and take small bites (peanut M&M size). Right after a fill be careful and during your monthly cycle. Also, for some (me) tightness happens when you get upset and worked up as well as when you fly.

Getting stuck is no fun and it does hurt, but it is nothing to panic about. It is mainly pressure and the desire to throw up. If you do get stuck, just remember to stop eating, stop drinking, get up and move around- it will come up. Most of the time my is already coming up by the time I reach the toliet- I lean over spit it out and I'm fine.

  7. Smart man!! My hubs didn't even propose - we got engaged during an argument- actually we really haven't argued much since. Go Fig.

My hubs also, does buy gifts. I've never gotten flowers, EVER!!!! I keep giving the hubs not so subtle hints- hell I even sent him the damm number in an email, still nothing.

Recreate the way you proposed, or propose all over a gain with a ring or necklace. I would fall out if my hubs did that.

  8. Thanks for the post Shelly- I feel like you are speaking right to me. I have been in the throws of self-pity for a while now. I, too, have been blessed greatly, yet still seem to expect more. But, we must put it into perspective.

Eating less is worth it, it is just hard to stick to it sometimes. I have come to the point that I know I am a weak person and have to work hard to have the strength to stand up for myself. Sometimes though, I need some one to help hold me up.

  9. Dylan- My hubs is my everything, I love him as much as I love to breath. He is the best thing that happened to me, but I think my MIL worries because she doesn't get so see us often so she doesn't Know what is going on. Each time we see her I think she gets a little more comfortable with me, she is sweet, but I just have this desire to please her.

  10. First off, this isn't negitive, but this is what I would do. Sit down honestly and write out- bullited what you have done- food, exercise, ect. Go to a nutritionist, get their take, a WLS NUT is worth their weight in gold. They have a lot of insight into how our bodies work and absorb/not absorb things.

PCOS does make a huge diffrence. My BFF has it and her doc would not even consider the band, but said bypass was her best bet. However, now, while the weight is gone, she is having HORRIBLE aborption issues and is sickly because of it. Find another doctor, one who understands the effects of PCOS. Get there advice and research the heck out of it.

Some with PCOS do great with the band, so do great with bypass- I have a former classmate that has lost very little with bypass and has PCOS. So it is really dependant on the person.

Good luck and hold your head high. If you are honest about what you have done, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Keep fighting for your health.

  11. I appreciate all your post. Actually alot of people have viewed and liked it. Who cares what they think anyway. You are doing most amazing, to heck with them if they have a problem with it.

Preparing meals a head has really changed things for me. It really is helping keep me on track, I am amazed. Why the heck didn't I try this before.

Thanks for all the advice and for the blogs I take bits and pieces and apply it to me and I am making my success plan.

  12. Of course, ask! I had the same issue. I called the doctor's office. I was told that I could get a cup of plain yogurt (not greek and not thick and creamy), and thin it down with milk or a protein shake and drink that. It did help get me through till I could start the mushy phase.

  13. Yep, Jim- I haven't gained, but boy has the loss slowed. It does get so frustrating. Still figuring out where I go from here. Maybe I set my goal to lofty- my goal would put be barely in over weight zone- I just feel like if I got into the size the BMI chart said I should be in I would look bad. Who know where I go from here.

  14. I love doing manual labor. I grew up on a farm and loved working outside. Now I live in the city and love working in my yard. I find getting exercise doing manual labor much more rewarding than excercise in general. I need some sort of postive outcome that I can see right now, I guess that is the impatience in me : )

  15. Is what you did good- No. Is it unforgiviable- Nope. Yes, you boobed up, but you can get back on track. I boobed up this weekend, ate out twice and at a cookie when I baked for my hubs office - apparantly this wasn't good, my weight is up a pound.

We can never truly appreciate success unless we have to fight for it. So now put on your big girl panties realize you messed up and start a fresh doing what you are suppose to. Since those ice creams are a trigger, try not to buy them any more, or if you have to take them out of the box, place them in a brown paper bad in the freezer- that way you won't be tempted every time you open the freezer.
