  1. My doctor fixed mine and did the sleeve at the same time. He showed me the before and after photos...now I don't suffer with acid reflux. The worse was when the acid reflux would occur in my sleep...I do not miss those days!
  2. Wow...I was sleeved on July 2nd and this will most definitely make me follow the correct steps/
  3. I had surgery on July 2nd and I am going to the gym and walking on the treadmill for an hour at 3.5 speed with no incline. This is really fast for me...I am only 5*1 I am trying to see what is a reasonable goal to set for walking on the treadmill. I have to wait six weeks before I can do any light weights. Thanks!
  4. You will love the Puree stage it is so much better than the liquid phase. I have a pot roast in the crockpot now that I plan on whizzing up. I got that idea from someone. I am past due for something that tast like real food! I never realized how much I enjoyed eating till now and I never considered myself a real big eater.
  5. How funny...I am the same way and when I went in to see him I had lost 3 pounds from the day of surgery. My clothes really haven't changed much but everyone at work can tell I have lost weight because it shows in my face. I can't wait for the rest of my body to get the memo...LOL! Well keep up the good work and I am going to try my best to stay off the scale as well!
  6. Well Congratulations! I can't wait to experience that feeling...I am going to the gym at least 4 times a week. I am not sure if I should be aiming for 6 days a week...oh well, slow but steady...LOL!
  7. I have read other posts on this site and quite a few of them said about 6 months out you can stop worrying about leaks...that seems like a really long time!
  8. No, I am two weeks out and feel the same way. I will even go so far as to stop eating and revert back to liquids only! The idea of a leak is very scary!
  9. Too funny I had to laugh out loud...I think you are fine as long as the conversation is innocent. You know when things are getting out of line and if the line of innocence is being crossed. So, ultimately it is up to you to keep the conversation clean and the other party on the straight and narrow if needed. I am far from an expert but I am married and this is something I would tell my own husband...
  10. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
  11. What is a stricture? I thought the term referred to the ability to eat less...I'm confused? Also, what are the symptoms?
  12. I think it depends on what you and your doctor feel is adequate for your body type. Everyone is built differently and some of us are more muscular than others or taller than others, so the recommended bmi may not be what's right for you. I kind of think that at some point your body will stop losing weight close to or within a healthy bmi range and that is where you really should be. I would just consult with my doctor and see what both of you agree on and try to make that goal---that's what I'm doing...
  13. Wow...my doctor told me to try soft foods...scrambled eggs, etc...so I figured it was soft when I chewed it really well. Why is this a bad thing? I am trying to understand if you can tolerate it what is happening by cheating???
  14. I see...the second day I really didn't want to eat. Well I hope that person is doing better now...
  15. Congratulations! You have done well. I was wondering did you exercise and if so, how often?
  16. What do you consider cheating? I ate three shrimp for lunch and was wondering if I was cheating but I didnt hurt and my sleeved liked it...
  17. I have tried malt-o-meal. It is really good and feels me up really fast! I didn't have gas or bubbles but I would think the bubbles come from taking in too much air. I also eat with a baby spoon.
  18. Wow that must have been some type of protein shake...I wonder how much did he take in...I am able to drink 8 oz at a sitting but my stomach doesn't hurt...I think you will know if you have over done anything because you will probably feel pain!
  19. I have United Healthcare as well but bariatric surgery is an exclusion...I guess it is because my employer chose that...but nevertheless, I got it done...
  20. I love your post and this is exactly how I feel! My husband had me laughing so hard yesterday at all the attention he was giving me before I left...it is funny and he knows I am not going anywhere. He was even showing off my picture that I took on my cell phone at an all guys gathering...LOL! Too funny...and its only been 13 days!
  21. Well congratulations! I am glad you are doing so well...keep up the good work! I just joined My fitness Pal but I am just transferring to the mushies stage and don't really consume enough food to make an entry yet. As soon as I make it past these six weeks it will be my new best friend! LOL!
  22. Argnewcan...I had the same experience. Your luck will continue...we have just begun the most significant journey in our lives...
