  1. So reread menu..I am craving the grits, I love them with a little salt and light butter, maybe a pinch of cheese. Yeah, that's a problem I love them too much and they go down easy leaving me with a crap load of carbs. I decided to make quinoa with a little salt, light butter (no cheese), poached an egg and it was better than grits'n eggs.

    Better choices.

  2. Cheryl,

I get what your saying. I didn't put in there, but the mayo and cream cheese i use are the light ones. It's not as much fat. The cheese is not, the commissary what out of the 2%, but that is normally what I buy.

Kca1fan: those muffins are awesome. I can only eat one, they are very filling to me.

  3. I was banded on July 16. I began posting my menus a few days ago so would be held accountable and for any feedback. I am still in the learning process, but I am constantly on the computer researching menu plans for lap band. I am a planner, without a plan....I eat a bag of chips. So far so good, I have followed the diet completely.

Good luck, have a plan for the each day and know that this is possible!!

  4. Not sure about any of the other stuff since I'm not banded yet (aug. 23) but the Lipton Diet Mixed Berry Green tea is SOOOO yummy. I buy it all the time now and that's all I drink besides water w/ Crystal Light. I've now cut out all soda from my diet and haven't had soda in almost a month. I'm not even missing it. I love the tea!!!!

Soda was hard to give up, I love the bubbles. The new diet lipton tea packs are yummy too, there are several new flavors. the pineapple/mango is yummy.

  5. I don't know anything about your case, but for me, my nutritionist told me not to drop below 800 calories because I could put my body into starvation mode and not lose weight.

But go with what your team told you. It sounds like you are getting it down to a science. Kudos to you!

I was wondering about that. When I added everything up it didn't seem to be enough calories, but the protein was good. I worry about too much protein, I had a kidney disease and have to be careful with that. I do plan on adding some steamed veggies to the mix tomorrow and tonights dinner.

  6. I can have the eggs, tuna etc...

I speak a good game, but if I am going to do this the right way, I have learned that I have to be honest with myself. I overindulge on even the healthy food and will make myself sick and hurt over it...and I would keep going. Not because I am still hungry, but because I love the flavor.

Oh, btw, the combo of the cream cheese, stick of "real" butter and the PET milk is to die for.

I think I will try to make some for dinner one night using all fat free stuff and see if my family tastes the difference.

  7. Thank you,

I have owned a treadmill for 5 years now and I am just now using it. Sad fact, but true. I am curbing my appetite with walking on it.

I am looking forward to working out with weights. Right now I am using 3lb weights just to start the habit.
