Need Advice on Sugar Addiction
I am 8 months out. My history: In childhood my mother was overweight and we ate sweets all the time. I became a obese child. At 4 ft tall and 4 th grade I weighed 160 lbs. very large. I have been addicted to sugar for over 60 yrs. the pre op diet was very hard. But I managed to not cheat once in the 2 weeks. Then after surgery I did not crave any sugar at all for a few months. Then when I was released to all foods I started trying a taste of this and that. Now I can eat everything and the sugar beast has raised it's ugly head. I have days where I eat too much sugar but I can't eat a whole bag of cookies or a pint of ice cream like before. I am a CARBOHOLIC and always will be so I have to watch what I do the rest of my life. This is not easy but well worth it.

Pre-Op...Day Three
The dr will take care of ins. I could have went home the next day but I chose to stay that extra day. Some have this surgery outpatient and many only stay overnight. You may have a very easy time so don't worry. I didn't need any help at home. You are supposed to walk a lot so not to get bloodclots. So taking care of yourself is your only priority. You will do just fine.

Clothes, clothes, and more clothes
Just load the car. I see your surgery is coming up soon. These clothes won't fit you after the first 2 months. Shopping is so fun after. I gave over 100 lbs to st Vincent DePaul and started afresh. Now I am outgrowing some of the newer things and had to buy smaller again. Just enjoy the trip. I also am tight but I still got rid of everything and started over. I will never be in those large sizes again. Have fun, it is a once in a life time experience.

Hurry Up Now Take Your Time
Who is the SHE you are speaking about. I looked at your stats and your surgeon is a male and your BMI would qualify you for surgery without co-morbidities. Not to worry only hurting yourself. If this is one of the office staff, who cares what she says.

Look what I can do!
I like the shamu/flipper analogy!

Will I fit in the Airplane seat?
You should. Fit but it will be tight. I weighed 275 and am 5'5". It was always very tight for me. Now at 201 I have plenty of room. You will need an extension for the seatbelt. Ask for one when you board the plane. Also try to get an isle seat. That way you have more shoulder room. Last time I flew I took a picture on the plant holding up the seatbelt showing that I had 3 inches overhang.

First Thought and Consultation
I have a few inflamatory diseases and was never told anything like this. I was on 10 rx's a day and besides that I am 66 yrs old. I was told the chances for a leak were at the very beginning like 2-6 months not yrs later. Just sounds like he does not want to operate on you for some reason. I would seek out another dr. By the way I am 7 months out down 72 lbs. I started at 275 . Best of luck to you.

Premier Protein Drinks Review - Chocolate
Are these whey protein isolate? That is what I was told to drink because we can't process the regular protein drinks. I don't know why.

15 days pre- op
Have you tried other means of losing weight. You are what we call a light weight. Do you have diabetes, high blood pressure etc? You have to be ready to change your eating life completely. The sleeve is only a tool. The first six months you can eat very little 600-1000 over the 6 month period. When you have lost all your weight you will be able to increase it and this is when you stabilize at your right weight. You say what happens in 5 years, that is totally up to you. If you go back to your old eating ways you will regain. It is not easy and is a life long process.

feeling down
I guess you are on antibiotics. When I had ulcers a long time ago you drank milk and did not eat anything hard to digest. Just my experience.

I now shop in the regular womens dept. I never realized all the choices you have when you are XL and smaller. Been in the plus size dept for 44 years. So this is so new and fun.
