  1. Oh man I hear ya, I haven't "cheated" or anything, but I still feel like my head hunger is getting the best of me. I sooo badly just want to eat something bad, but I keep telling myself I did not go through this surgery for nothing! There is a reason I'm doing this. I think I may look into that food counseling as well.
  2. Girl!! You are making such a good decision! After a crap load of reasearch i decided to go this route! I am only 19, so I completely understand what you mean about "cheating at such a young age," and unfortunately some people think that way. So many more people have supported me than I ever thought would! I had the surgery this last Wednesday, and between the preop liquid diet a week before surgery, and now (a week and a half) I've lost 16 pounds So you are making absolutely the right choice! You go girl!
  3. Honestly, I would stick to sugarfree and take the occasional tylenol! I would be really afraid of taking in so much sugar and calories after everything! I'm so surprised they didn't give you more information.
  4. definitely no carbonation!! so no soda, beer, carbonated water, etc. You want to stick to sugar free liquids in week one, with the exception of your protein shakes. I'm doing unjery as well, and you need to get up to 60 g of protein a day with 64 oz of liquid (including shakes). I've been living off of sugar free popsicles, unjery, and unsweetened iced tea! Starting this thursday I can eat scrambled eggs and pureed oatmeal/cream of wheat, but only 1/4 cup!
  5. Oh man I have been wondering this myself! I'm only 4 days post-op, but I constantly have dry mouth. I wasn't sure if this was normal or not!
  6. Hey Jan! I had my sleeve the same day!! I too am having trouble getting a lot of fluid down. I have found it easier to get the sugar free popsicles they taste pretty good, and are very refreshing! Not to mention they go down nice and slow. I also have very little energy, and I'm on 19, so don't even worry about it being age! We'll get through this girl!!
  7. YESS the first three days are hard, and I was on the exact same diet as you lol. I'm on day 7 now with surgery tomorrow! You can do it girl!
  8. oh man! You were so lucky. I have to have all liquids, clear broths, protein shakes. Nothingggg substantial blah.
  9. Okay I'm just finishing day 5 of liquid diet, and I'm doing sooo much better. It really gets easier every day
  10. I've been thinking a lot about this also! I'm like really paranoid that having loose skin will make me feel worse than actually being fat :/ but I've come to the realization that I am doing this to be healthy and live a longer life, and I need to remember that! Nothing will stop me from getting this done (:
  11. I went to Charming Charlie's and found a super cute sleeveless dress with lace detail. It is a size XL which is really like a L in normal people size stores lol. I tried it on and of course it was unbearably snug. Since it was on clearance I went ahead and bought it hoping that I'll be able to wear it in the near future! My surgery is this coming Wednesday!! AHH!!!
  12. So I'm doing my preop liquid diet right now. I am only doing mine for a week, and I'm currently on day 3! So far it has been a pretty big challenge for me, but it is totally mind over matter! I am a serious people person so staying in the house the whole time for real would drive me crazy! I decided to not let it interfere with my daily routine, and even decided to go to Six Flags yesterday. I brought a cooler of shakes and tea etc. and they said it wasn't a problem because I needed it for medical reasons! I had a blast and didn't hardly think about the fact that I missed food so much. I recommend staying busy and not letting it interfere with having fun. I mean in the end wouldn't you regret not doing the things you love?
  13. I am on day three of my preop liquid diet and I am going insane! I am so tired of just "drinking." I can never get satisfied. I know it is all completely in my head which is so frustrating. I wish my "need" for "good" food would just go away! I want to cheat so badly, but I know in the end that would just hurt me. So I'm just trucking along :/
