  1. I just sat him down and told him I was ready to do this. Im not sure he believed me at first. Til I quit smoking for 6 months, and then no alcohol..but he was finally convinced I was going through with it when I gave up my caffienated coffee! I just told him, I have yo yo dieted all my life, down big lbs only to gain it all back..you know the routine. I said I have it in me to do it again, but I refuse to let myself gain it back and this is the tool I need to be succesful. Good luck
  2. Follow your doctors orders but I am on full liquids since day 4 post op. that includes milk w my protien shakes, small curd lowfat cottage cheese, grits, cream of wheat and yogurt.
  3. I also used MOM. worked great!
  4. You will be very sore for the first few days. I was sleeved 5-29. Stayed in for 2 nights. The hardest part is getting in and out of the hospital bed. Today is day 10 and I am feeling great! You will be fine. I have never had any kind of surgery before and I was scared to death but it isnt all that bad. Good luck to you Lori
  5. I am doing very well! I have lost 24 lbs since I started the pre-op diet. Surgery went good also. I was in for 2 nights. (standard for them) I had my first check up on Tuesday and all is good. Had an allergic reaction to the liquid vicodin and broke out in a rash all over. That was not pleasant but its going away now. Good luck to you! It took me 7 months total but I did not have any of the co-morbidities that go along with a lot of patients do. I think honestly having that time to prepare was good for me too. I read a lot. This is a good site to get info from. Lori
  6. Welcome Moe, I was also sleeved on May 29th and can not wait for some scrambled eggs too! We have a May facebook sleevers page if you are on facebook. Send a friend request to Sharon Ivanauskas and she can add you. There are 113 of us as of today!
  7. Hi all, I was sleeved 5-29. I had my fist post op appt today and I have lost 20 lbs since May 14th. That is when I started my liquid pre-op diet. I had actually gained some right after surgery but they told me it was all from the surgery. Excited to see where I am at for my full 2 weeks which will be next Tuesday.
  8. Ok you all just convinced me. SOLD! I just put an order in on bed bath and beyond. 20 for 2. If you go to geniebra.com they have buy 3 get 3 free but it works out to the same price. about 10 per bra. Still a good deal! Only problem with the site is you would get 6 of the same size. they dont break them down. So i ordered from BBB and got 2 2x and 2 1x for down the road Lori
  9. Kind of the same consistancy of cough syrup.
  10. I just took a dose 5 minutes ago. It is syrupy but not thick. Its more of a watery consistence. Hope that helps. And ya..it tastes terrible! Lori
  11. Girl you need to say something to them. My guess is they dont even realize they are doing it. I would also set aside a lunch for yourself the next day before you even serve the food. Just take part of it and pack it in the fridge. That way they can fight over whats left and you arent feeling so frustrated. Make sure they know thats MOMMAS lunch and hands off
  12. How ya feeling? I had mine done on the 29th. Feeling pretty good! Lori
  13. I am here to tell you that it can be done. I started the process for the sleeve in October 2011. I quit smoking December 26th. (over 5 months now) stopped drinking any alcohol or caffienated drinks six weeks ago and I was finally sleeved on 5/29. I found quitnet.com to be a very helpful site on my quitting smoking journey. I have learned a lot about myself in the process. I am looking forward to the next year to see my transformation. You can do this! When I first quit smoking i was not happy about it. I thought I would just go right back to it once I had my sleeve done. Not anymore. I have ZERO desire to smoke now. I want to be healthy 100 percent. Good luck in your journey! Lori
  14. So sorry you are going through such a hard time. I am sending healing thoughts and prayers your way. Have faith that they will figure out what is wrong and you will be doing fine soon. Lori
  15. Hello, I went the insurance route and it took about 7 months from my first Dr appt to the surgery. I was sleeved on 5-29. So far so good. Little frustrated right now but I know it will get better as time goes on. I know I made the right choice. Good luck in your journey. I have spent a lot of time on here reading everything I can too. Lori
  16. nope not everyone. There were 3 of us sleeved on the 29th at my hospital. I was the only one who had it. I still am not sure why I did and they did not. They took mine out the day I left the hospital (2 night stay). I plan on asking at my 1st post op appt on Wednedsay. Lori
  17. Wow thats scary! I am glad you are doing ok now. I just today finally tackled all my adhesive spots.I was sleeved on the 29th. The rubbing alcohol worked great but I was very careful to keep the cotton balls away from my staples. Lori
  18. I was sleeved on the 29th. I also have been walking quite a bit. I had it horrible the first 2 days, seems to be letting up a bit today. I was told by the surgeon to stay away from the recliners for 4 weeks due to blood clots. Apparently its where the bars hit your calves. Just thought I would share that. Hope you feel better soon
  19. I just got mine out yesterday. Not painful at all.
  20. I am also getting my sleeve tomorrow. Good luck!! Im ready
  21. My family and co-workers all know. No point in keeping it a secret. I work in a large office building and they way I figure, if its successful and helps just one other person, then thats ok by me. I have not told my facebook friends. Eventually I probably will. Lori
  22. I also have a pool and that was one of my first questions. They said minimum 4 weeks. Its not the exercise they are concerned with, its the bacteria that can be in a pool or hot tub they worry about.

I did the same thing. I started a low carb diet 2 weeks before the liquid diet. Now mind you, I had a few cheats in there, but I lost 5 lbs. Since my liquid diet (that I have not cheated at all on) I started May 14th I have lost another 13! So total of 18 in less than a month. I get sleeved this coming Tuesday. So ready! I am over the waiting too. I just want to be done! Lori
  24. food Porn!! Cracking up! Lori
  25. I show the one coming up is in new jersey? Is that you?
