  1. I had a salad from Chipotle at 6 wks but I had them leave off the rice, sour cream & cheese. It tasted heavenly & I had no problems. It was enough for 3 meals.
  2. Have a sugar free popsicle or busy yourself with a good movie or call a friend. I like to get on this website for encouragement so you are already coming to the right place.
  3. I get weighed every two weeks. I find when I do it more frequently, I get disappointed. I like to see a nice number change.
  4. I asked my doctor what a healthy weight for me would be. I would love to be skinny but I am more interested in being healthy & realistic. 150 would give me a good BMI.
  5. Good for you! I love my sleeve & I'm sure you will too. Your weight related health problems will be gone in no time.
  6. Perhaps you should try hot liquids such as hot tea or broth. I was told plain water can create surface tension and can give you that stuck feeling. If you mix the water with lemon or a drink mix it shouldn't happen. The more fluids you can get in, the better.

The pain is different for everyone. I still have some soreness 7 weeks post-op & it was really hurting bad for a few weeks after surgery. I just got checked to see if I had developed a hernia since I "shouldn't" be having pain at this time but I am fine. The doctor said some people are more sensitive & I probably had an allergic reaction to the stitches & glue he used since I also have redness at the incision sites. Make sure you tell your doctor about your pain but know that you aren't alone in feeling this way. My pain is going away more & more everyday.
  8. What a great start. I found drinking pop was a major problem for me, I was totally addicted before surgery. Giving it up was the best thing I could do. Good luck with getting an approval!
  9. Even though your husband isn't on board right now, I'm sure if he understood the benefits & the procedure he might come around. This isn't an "easy way out", the easy way is doing nothing. Good luck, you will find tons of support on this website.
  10. Wow, so happy for you! Seeing that number had to feel amazing!
  11. The soups I bought were already pureed. I always strained everything just in case. These were convenient since they came in a recloseable carton that i poured into a cup to microwave as I needed them. They really tasted great and were inexpensive.
  12. I would try walking briskly everyday to start out with. I'm sure your you will see a change in the scale if you get some exercise. That really helped me.
  13. I bought some soups from Trader Joes in cartons that were pureed such as black bean, corn chowder, sweet potato bisque. I strained them to make sure but there were no bits & pieces and it actually tasted really good.
  14. You are a whole new person, so pretty & I would never guess by looking at the "after" photos that you were ever 100 lbs heavier. Congrats on such a dramatic transformation. I bet you feel so much better. I love my sleeve too!
  15. Stay calm & try not to stress. You won't regret making healthy changes in your life. Imagine all the health problems and surgeries you will be avoiding by lowering your BMI and weight. I knew I would eventually end up having a heart attack or stroke so I looked at this surgery as a lifesaver & so far so good. I am down 45 lbs in 7 weeks and looking forward to my healthy future.
  16. I hit a stall in the 3rd & 4th week (only lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks) but i upped my walking to a brisk 3 miles every evening & the weight is coming off fine again. I am 7 weeks post op & down 45 lbs total. I'm sure you will drop more weight very soon.
  17. So happy for u! I remember how relieved I was when I got my approval...your future is looking bright!
  18. Wow, that is a tremendous weight loss. So happy for u!
  19. I work with inmates & it is verbal abuse everyday. My coworkers tease everyone (helps us get through the stress) & I laugh but the jokes are never funny to me when they are directed at my weight but I laugh it off to hide my pain. There is a man at work who likes me & he is overweight like me. Someone asked if we hang out & watch the Food Network together. It was in front of a bunch of people & very humiliating.
  20. Yummy that sounds like something I need to try tomorrow. Thanks for the great idea!
  21. I lost 25 lbs the 1st 2 weeks, then 5 lbs the 2nd 2 weeks. I was upset too but I was told by my docotor's office that everyone hits a stall. Your body is adjusting. I don't own a scale so I won't find out if I lost anymore until my next doctor appt. Don't stress, just keeping doing what you are supposed to be doing & the weight will come off.

Congrats on your weight loss, that is incredible!
  23. So happy for you! I am proud of you and I'm sure your mom would be too!
  24. I am so glad you posted this question. I was feeling a bit down earlier today because I lost 25 lbs the 1st 13 days & 5 lbs the last 2 weeks. I thought I should have lost more but that is 30 lbs total in 27 days so after reading the posts, I seem to fit in with what is "normal". At least the scale is going in the right direction
  25. Good luck to you, your weight loss is amazing so far! I sure can relate with feeling like the biggest person in the room. Where I work, we wear uniforms and I am well aware that it isn't flattering on me. Congrats on making the decision to be healthier & happier!
