Exercise - Intense Shortly After Surgery
Sounds like a blast. I was basically cleared for everything at 8 weeks. Just talk to your dr. He will let you know about that.

Thinking About Bypass Instead Of Sleeve?
Transferring of addictions. We go from food to alcohol. Or drugs, or sex. Just something to take it's place.

Normal In An Unrealistic World
First I would like to start off by saying I hate that all of these thoughts are keeping awake and away from taking care of yourself. Sometimes life isn't the pretty picture we all see on tv and in movies. This is the real world. There's going to lots of downs, but lots of ups too. The downs make the ups taste sweeter. All we can do is take one day at a time. Now with your husband... Don't think that because he doesn't look at you like he is mad about you that he isn't. You guys have a history and it goes back a while. There are going to be days that you both look at each other and see that spark and times you won't. I learned this the hard way as well. I've been with my husband for 16 years, married for 10. Nothing is easy when it's worth it. Maybe sit down and talk to him about what you feel. Because when men love, they want to provide. We want to nurture. So his working so much may just be for you. Also, not supporting you. He fears the worse. Mine did too. And mine is also an enabler. I am sure you've heard: "You look fine" so many times. But once he sees that weight falling off of you he will say that you made the right choice. We all have fears about going under the knife. I just have to say that this is the best thing I've ever done for me. From the seminar until now I have lost 65 pounds. I could've never done that on my own. So just breath. This is for you to make the quality of your life better for you and your family. Tomorrow is going to be a great day. You will make it perfectly. I know you just wanted to vent, but I felt compelled to share the little bit I have learned through this. Please keep us updated. We'll see you on the loser's bench. Kisses and hugs.

Food
This depends on how far out you are? If you are far enough to eat them both, then yes. By all means eat some

Any Of You Girls...
I think just about everyone of us has this problem. Sometimes even gain. So no worries. It's normal. Usually when it's over, the next week it comes off a little faster.

Cravings & Hunger Q's
You mentally will want the food for a good month. You'll see or smell it and that's all you'll want. I was like that with a burger. I wanted a double bacon cheese burger so bad. I even googled pics of it. Then just one day, it stopped. You will "crave" a lot of stuff. Things just don't taste the same anymore. Fried foods smell so bad now. Like old burnt grease. Don't worry. Everything will calm down.

Sick
Right now focus on fluids. The protein is very important, but not as important as staying hydrated. Try some broth or tea or even coffee if warm feels good. I see cold feels good, so Popsicles are good. Put Crystal Light in the freezer 'til it's slushy. Every little bit helps. I hope you feel better soon.

No (Or Low) Sugar - Low Carb Protein Bars?
Atkins bars are very low carb. Like 3 carbs per bar. They look like they are high, but what you need to look at is net carbs. The other stuff is stuff like fiber, sugar alcohol, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, and Glycerine, which have little to no impact on a diet. I learned this from doing the Atkins diet so many time. BTW, they taste good too..

Hair Loss
We also have hair loss. I don't think it's as bad. But any surgery, stress, or having a baby does the same. It will come back.

Post-Op Liquids
Exactly Emily. I drank everything room temp or warmer. Also, I was on only clear liquids for the first week. Not even protein. Maybe take a day and do only water, broth, and crystal light ( or whatever clear liquids). This will give you tummy a rest for a minute and regroup. Hope you feel better soon, hun

Hitting The Beach
I like almonds, string cheese singles, Atkins bars, jerky (beef or turkey)... Stuff like that. You can take it anywhere and it has some protein quality to it. That's what I use for snacks.

What's The Best Cardio?
Thank you so much for answering everyone. Maybe I should've told you my normal routine. Day one (typical)- 45 minutes on elliptical. Then to leg weights for about 20 minutes. This includes hip abductions both inner and outter. Leg presses and so on. Day two- 20 minutes on stair climber, elliptical, or treadmill. High intensity. 30 minute ab class. 20 minutes on arms, chest, and back. All weights are low weight, high reps. Repeat one and two. I'm just wanting to burn hard and fast. I had a trainer, but basically he told me as long as I have a good sweat I'd be fine. I was almost 300 pounds. A good sweat took 5 minutes lol. So I dropped him. But the interval training sounds great. Thank you guys again.

What's The Best Cardio?
At least 4 days a week I workout at the gym. I'm torn between which cardio workout is better. I like the elliptical and the stair climber. But then there's the treadmill, which bores me. But I can add incline and speed. Does anyone have a preference or one they see and feel better results from?

Will I Ever Be Able To....
- Holy Fatigue
How far out are you? I know my first month out I was exhausted all the time. I think it's mostly to do with lower calorie intake. Your body will adjust. As for the hair... It's something we have to look forward to. If you search the site, there are lots of threads on this and all have some great ideas. Just hang in there. Keep your eye on the prize :-)- Will I Ever Be Able To....
I was never told no straw or caffeine. So have used them from day one. One cup of coffee in the morning. I use equal but a little sugar in moderation won't hurt. Just add it into your daily calories and carbs. And my dr said I could have a drink. I drink jack so flat coke zero and a shot (75 calories or So) and I'm a happy girl. This is a lifestyle change to teach us moderation. Not to completely hold us down. It gets easier.- July 4Th Challenge
- On Liquid Phase
Sugar free popsicles. They have some tropical flavored one's that are great. 2 oz a piece.- Worried Plz Comment
I lost lots of hair after I had my daughter (still losing it actually). So I think this is a fair trade. I know it will grow back. And worse case, for a few months... A wig lol. I've dyed and cut my hair so much this should be cake.- July 4Th Challenge
Goal is a week away. I weighed in at 219 this morning. 5 pounds to go... Can I Do it... Damn straight I can lol- Drinks Out? What Are The Best Choices?
I like jack and coke zero. Lots of ice to take the carbonation out. Only 65 calories in a shot.- Itchy Rash On Tummy A Week Out From Surgery
They shave your stomach. This is probably the hair coming back.- Post Op..when Did You Start Taking Meds Without Crushing Them?
My dr said 3 months. But the best answer would be whatever you dr says. They all have a plan that works for them - Holy Fatigue
