  1. Which iPad do you have. I recently upgraded from the first one to the third one. I had to delete the app quite a bit on the first iPad bit haven't had to since I upgraded a week ago. I wonder if there is a connection to which iPad version you are using.
  2. Welcome to VST. You will find lots of information and support here. I'm probably biased, but I think this board is the best support board out there. Best of luck to you on your journey.
  3. I'm 6 1/2 weeks out and haven't tried salad yet. I'm too scared to because the other day I had a tiny bit of lettuce in something I ate. The food was something I'd eaten before just without the lettuce so I know it was that. Let's just say the potty and I were good buds for awhile.
  4. It's the test some have to do to check for leaks. You have to swallow a liquid and then have a scan. Thankfully, I didn't have to do this. My doctor did my leak test while I was still under anesthesia.
  5. In reality we all know that we "don't wake up skinny". However, when you spend much time here, I think you get a skewed vision of how your own weight loss should go. To me, it always seemed like everyone was losing weight at rapid speed but me. In reality though, that isn't true. I still struggle with comparing my weight loss to others and thinking I'm not losing enough. As a matter of fact, I just had my 6 weeks postop visit and I went in hoping I'd lost enough. Ya know, lost what they think I should have. Anyway. I saw the P.A. And she was very happy with what I'd done. Try to not compare yourself to others. It's hard, I know. And remember, this is a journey and you will lose the weight if you follow the rules. You are so early out that your body is still regulating itself. It will all work out. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Take care!
  6. It good that you ate going to reevaluate after you have surgery since there is no answer to this. One person may be okay while another, at a week out, may not be. Good luck to you!
  7. Congrats and welcome to the other side!
  8. That great! Keep up the awesome work!
  9. I am 6 weeks out and was told that I have no restrictions. Well, except carbonated beverages which are a no no for life At my appointment today I was told to eat very little of things that expand in your stomach. Popcorn was one of the examples I was given that does that. Also, PDXman pointed out the most important thing. The hills could get caught in your staple line. That would be detrimental to your health.
  10. My doctor said it varies because he releases his patients to bathe and swim once their incisions are healed.
  11. This is really good for someone like me to know. I'm 6 weeks out and I get a pressure in the center of my chest between my breasts. Knowing this, I'll pay attention for other signs.
  12. My sleeved loves Tuna. I've bee eating it since a few days after being on mushies. Eggs are good with my sleeve too.
  13. I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and have had no real hunger. The ony hunger I have is head hunger but I'm having less and less as time goes on.
  14. Good idea. I hadn't thought if that. Thanks.
  15. Thanks y'all. It was totally fun pitting on a size I haven't worn in years!
  16. The good news: I'm down 2 sizes in my shirts and pants and 1 band size and 1 cup size in my bra and I'm only 5 1/2 weeks postop. The bad news: all that money I've saved on food, went to clothes today I'll probably wear for a "minute". Totally, 100% loving my sleeve. It is my favorite body part. :-)
  17. They also cut through that muscle....or at least my doctor did.
  18. I had the same thing too. I was just glad it was that and not constipation. It will get better.
  19. Try using an abdominal binder or a control garment like Spanx. It was a life saver for me. Also, try using a heating pad. I hope you feel better soon!
  20. You are so early out and what you are going through is completely not unexpected at this point. Just keep sipping. Also, warm liquids go down easier in the beginning. I used chicken stick with a bullion cube and my sleeve loved it. Also, I am only 5 weeks, 4 days out and have been able to take decent sized gulps for almost 2 weeks without pain. However, I can still feel it in my chest but it doesn't hurt. It's more like pressure. And, just one other tidbit of information. It was exactly 4 weeks after surgery that I woke up feeling "normal" and it is the best feeling ever. Give yourself time to heal and you will be LOVING your sleeve. It my favorite part of my body. :-)
  21. I'm right there with you. There was a lady at my lunch table who doesn't know about my surgery. When I put my food away today she asked me if I was done. I said yes. She then proceeded to ask me if I didn't like it. I told her I loved it but I was full and she commented that I had barely eaten anything. I just left it at that.
  22. I was told it takes 12 weeks for the stomach to heal and after that, there is very, very little chance of complications.
