  1. I told a few people and told all of them I would appreciate if they didn't tell anyone. Well, when I came back to work, several people approached me about my surgery and based on their comments, I knew they knew. At first, I was kinda upset. Now, I really could care less who, at work knows. I guess because those who said something to me were very sweet and supportive. Look at it this way, what's done is done. Don't waste your energy on being upset for too long because it won't change anything except keeping you stressed. Best of luck to you!
  2. I've been in the hospital a couple of times and never needed my wallet either. My mom has been in the hospital MANY times sometimes for weeks at a time. She always took things like her phone, ipod, ipod speakers and other similar things and never had an issue with things being stolen and she left her stuff out so it would be in reach whenever she needed it.
  3. As Lea Anne said, try not to worry about the future. I've tried really hard to stay present in this journey and have done fairly well. However, I did have thoughts about failing but at 5 weeks postop, I'm not so worried anymore because my sleeve is awesome and doing its job! Best of luck to you on your journey.
  4. Glad you ate home and things are going well. Take care!
  5. Congrats on your upcoming surgery!

I am 5 weeks, 2 days postop and have had zero true hunger. I've had some head hunger, but mainly during my 3 week postop liquid diet. Are you sure it's true hunger. It could be head hunger, thirst or an over production of acid. However, make sure you ate getting enough protein and calories. Lack of either could leave you hungry.
  7. I was on short term disability. The first 5 days I had to use vacation or not get paid if I didn't have vacation time. Thankfully, I have plenty. Anyway, after that, the short term disability kicked in and I was paid my usual pay for the rest of the time I was out. Check with your employer to see if you have short term disability.
  8. Best wishes! Check in when you can and let us know how you're doing.
  9. OMG that made me LOL once I got to the end. On the bright side, you got lots of exercise in.
  10. Ice from Sonic. I think I overdosed on it during my postop liquid phase.
  11. I have respect for all of you that have had to jump through insurance hoops. I have crappy bariatric benefits so much so that it was cheaper to go cash pay, believe it or not. Yes, I had to pay more than what people using insurance do. However, the huge benefit was how quickly the process went. I made the decision to have the surgery the very end of March. I had sinus surgery April 10th, went to a seminar and met with the surgeon within a couple of weeks after that and they were ready to give me a surgery date of May 15th. I ended up scheduling for May 22nd. Due to a couple of issues, I ultimately ended up having surgery on June 5th.
  12. I know the feeling. I'm 5 weeks out today. Part of me can't believe it's been that long ago. Another part of me feels like it was so long ago.
  13. Congrats on your journey so far. It sure looks like you are getting close to your surgery. Exciting, huh?
  14. Nope, at least not that I know of. If I had it they took it out before I woke up in recovery.
  15. Congrats on your success so far. That is awesome! Best of luck as you continue your journey.
  16. That's great! Keep on keepin' on girl.
  17. The way you are going is a much better way to be shocked! Good luck to you too.
  18. I was cash pay so all my doctor required was lab work and an ekg to make sure I was healthy enough to go under anesthesia and have surgery. A lot of the things (like a sleep study) are required by the insurance company. You might call the doctor's office and ask what they require. It sounds to me like you are getting super close to surgery. Best of luck in your journey!
  19. I think it truly is one of those mysteries if the brain. As you lose weight you probably won't see it. I'm down 40 pounds and people say they see it. I don't. I know its happening because I've gone down a pants size and am not far from going down again, so logically I know my body must look smaller, but I see no change. I'm hoping next Monday when I do pics again, I will see it.
