Food Funeral For Real!
I think it is very common. I ate everything in sight , and a lot of it, before my preop diet started.

Weighing In? Your Thoughts?
I weigh every morning. If you do that though you have to take what you see with a grain of salt, so to speak. You may wake up one morning and see you "gained" 3 pounds because your body can fluctuate like that. On the flip side, you may wake up and see you "lost" 3 pounds too. If you think about it, you can't lose or gain 3 pounds overnight without extreme exercise or eating. It really is fluctuations in your body. I wish I could weigh just once a week, but I just can't seem to hold out.

Help!
I think you are on the right track with what you did today. I did close to the same thing and lost 14 on my preop diet. Good luck to you.

17 Days Out And It Doesn't Feel Like Anything Is Changed
I think a lot of us felt like you do now. I know I did. As others have said, wait until you get to solids. Especially meat. I had a cookout the other day at work and got a hamburger patty with a slice of cheese and no bun. Just the meat and cheese. I'm 7 weeks out and was only to eat about 1/4 to 1/3 of it along with two small bites of beans and one small bite of coleslaw.

To Tell Or Not To Tell?
I think you should tell only who you want to tell. My immediate family knows but none of my extended family does. I've told a few close friends and some coworkers. Other coworkers now know though as people can't keep their mouth shut. At first it bothered me but now it doesn't. Probably because they've all been supportive. Anyway, my point there is to be careful because some people you tell may tell others even of you ask them not to. Good luck in your journey.

I Feel Like I Can Eat Anything Is This Normal
Yep. Another vote for completely normal. I'm now almost 8 weeks out and have been able to gulp water since early on. My sleeve also let's me eat pretty much anything I want so long as I don't overdo it. There are some things I haven't had yet though but so far so good for everything I've tried.

Toddler Silverware?
Bed Bath and Beyond has appetizer silverware that you can buy in individual pieces. It's perfect size for small bites. You can find it in bins back where the regular silverware is.

Tropical Smoothie
Oops! Didn't know it was a chain. I just thought you liked tropical flavored smoothies. :-) What about making your own at home.? You can pick up a Ninja at Walmart or Target pretty cheap these days and that thing rocks! Otherwise, you could get the 20 ounce one realizing when you do that you most likely won't be able to drink it all.

Very true, but I still don't feel ready for the gym. Maybe after I lose a little more weight then I'll go.

Tropical Smoothie
Well, there are a lot of people here who eat very low carb who would tell you there's a lot of carbs in that. I'm not a low carber. I mainly care about getting my protein in and your shake would help that. However, 20 oz. soon after surgery is a lot to get down before it melts. Heck. I'm 7 weeks, 1 day and don't think I could get all that down before it melts. Is there a way you could make 1/4 of it at a time and space it throughout the day. That way you'd be concentrating on getting 5 ounces down a day?

I am looking for someone to work out with on a regular basis. Anyone from this area who is interested?- Single Serving Blenders
I also have a Ninja and love it. You can get a small one for pretty cheap at Walmart or Target as one poster did from Target.- Surgery Is Tomorrow Morning! :) :) :) :)
Good luck to you. I'm sure you will do great! You won't need much for the hospital. Pack lightly. When you feel like it, check back in after surgery and let us know you're doing.- Post Ops: Have You Ever Got Denied Approval Because You Had No Comorbidities But Where In The Weight Range?
