  1. When you say semi-physical, are you talking about lifting things? I had a 10 pound limit until 6 weeks out. I would be worried about lifting much more than that at 3 weeks out.
  2. I'm glad to know that at least it's just not me. It's hard to remember to subscribe to each post afterward though. I hope it gets fixed soon! Edit...I just figured out you have to subscribe to a post each time you comment on it.
  3. I used to be automatically subscribed to a post if I made the post or if I commented on someone else's post. However, today that isn't the case. Did something change and I'm just now figuring it out?
  4. I'm 8 weeks, 2 days out and can chug water just like I did preop. I've been able to for a few weeks now.
  5. Good deal. You can join us. We have some others in our group that didn't have surgery in June.
  6. The group Toni and I are a part of is a June sleeves group. If you wanna join, send me a pm on how to find you on FB. I would need to add you as a personal friend then I could add you to the group.
  7. Yeah, I think we can offer support without name calling even if someone made a decision that could cause death. Someone wise once told me there is a right way and a wrong way to say the exact same thing and I don't think the right way was said being that it involved name calling. You are not an idiot. You have a disease. An addiction to food. Just like a drug addict has to drugs. And, on that note, there are many dead drug addicts amd alcoholics who ingested something they shouldn't have just like you did and it killed them. Trust me, I see it almost daily in my job. Hang in there! Remember, this time in your life is only temporary. You will get past it and back to eating solids soon. Best of luck to you.
  8. I don't see your response. Moving just the location. Are u good with that?
  9. Thx. I just realized I can track the info on my iPod so I'm good. Toni.....did you see my post or email about moving the get together to another place this month?
  10. I have the original Fitbit but haven't really used it much. However, I am really going to start concentrating on my cardio and my question surrounds that. I get that the Fitbit can track distance based on the number of steps taken over the course of a day. Is there a way to set it just to track distance for a specific workout during that day?
  11. Some people have very little to no pain and take no pain killers once they come home from the hospital. Others, like me, have a lot of it. I was on prescription pain meds until 4 weeks out. I even called my doctor at 3 weeks out crying in pain and was told that some people have bad pain that long.
  12. When you say normally are you talking about the type or amount of food. You will be able to eat normal foods again but maybe not all of them. Some have intolerance to some foods. You won't ever be able to eat the amount you did but the amount you can eat early out will increase a bit over time.
  13. I had a lot of postop pain. I was given liquid when I left the hospital but it wasn't strong enough so my doctor called in a pill format that was stronger. I just cut it in half and took it. I had no problems at all.
  14. What makes your liver bigger is when it has to process carbs. Eating low carb consistently for a period of time will shrink your liver which is accomplished by most of us on our preop diet right before surgery. Some do a total liquid preop diet and some, like me, got limited high Protein, low carb foods along with Protein shakes.
  15. What you are going through is completely normal. Try using a heating pad or one of those peel and stick pads that warm up along with a support garment. If you are a woman, get a spanx type garment that goes up high, as close to your breast area as possible. If you're a man, I'm sorry I don't know the equivalent. I hope you feel better soon!
  16. Congrats and welcome to the other side and to VST. Best of luck in your journey!
  17. I'm actually documenting my journey taking pics every 4 weeks. You should take some too. You don't have to share them but you might want to one day. Till then, keep them private. I know people have said they regret not doing so.
  18. Good luck to you! Check in when you feel up to it and let us know how you're doing.
  19. Your weight is melting off. 18 pounds in 2 weeks is 9 pounds a week which is awesome. Know though, it will not continue at that pace. It will slow down so don't be alarmed when it does. Follow your doctor's plan and you will lose weight. Good luck to you on your journey!
  20. Hang in there KayKay20! I know it is rough, but you can resist. Remember, this is only temporary and one day before you know it, you will be eating that BBQ chicken. As far as cheating, yes people do it. I did it and truth be told, I bet a lot of people did. The diet is to shrink your liver and carbs are what stop that process. My several "cheats" were always Protein and my physician still said my liver looked awesome and he could tell I really followed the diet. What he didn't know didn't hurt him or me either for that fact. Now, for cheating postop. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO IT!!! Cheating after they cut the entire length of your stomach is messing with danger. It could cause a leak which would be detrimental to your health or worse. Good luck on your journey and come here as often as necessary for support!
  21. I'm very sorry for your loss Kimberly but glad your father is not suffering any longer. Peace be with you during this difficult time.
  22. Welcome to the other side Sarah! I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you and that you hopefully get to go home this evening. Good luck on your journey to a healthier and skinnier you!
  23. People lose at varying rates. There are a lot of factors that play into how much weight a person will lose and over what time period so try not to compare too much. I know it is hard, but it can bring you down if you see someone losing faster than you. That being said, I lost 6.8 my first week. Good luck to you on your journey!
  24. No regrets here either. Tomorrow, I will be 8 weeks out. Early on, I had some "regrets" but really those times were when my pain wasn't under control. I wish I would've done this years ago.
