For some reason I think you have to have the insurance to qualify for the short term disability. I do not carry any of our insurace since my husband has me on his. (his insurance is better)

I didnt know you had to be employed 12 month or work 1250 hours. I have worked over 1250 hours but was a temp for 5-6 months of that before going perm I am using all 7 of my vacation days for my time off. I do have another 5 days sick time if i feel i cant come back. But i am now worried that my job wont be safe if I have any complications. Anyone else habe some insight?

I read another post here that said some Drs do and some dont. I will definately ask.

Just saw a video of the sleeve surgery and the Dr sewed or sutured along the staple line?? Do all surgeons do this?

That is my fear....to throw out tons of stuff. I just want to know the necessaties. Vitamins ect. Heating pad is a great idea!

What Vitamins, types of vitamins, shakes, foods, ect should I have handy when coming home from the hospital? Anything you couldnt live without? Anything that helped you when you had pain or intolerances? I need a good list going . I am such a freak at researching and being prepared LOL Much love for any help!

Congrats!!!! This was an informative post! I am having surgery on August 21st. *squeeeeeee* I have never had surgery other than my wisdom teeth out but that doesnt count really. I am NERVOUS about the pain. But mostly I am all too excited to get this show on the road!!!! Congrats again!!!

My expierience was a nightmare. I called to check the status every couple days and got a different story each time. paperwork was in the wrong department, then it was in the right one, then it wasnt. They had everything they needed then they didnt. I was so confused. Then they denied me saying they didnt receive the clearance letter / second opinion. Honestly i think that was BS. I had three different opinions I only needed two. Then my coordinator refaxed and they said I would know in 2 days. I kept calling every two days, they kept telling me 2 more days. Eventually a week later they told me I was approved. They told my coordinstor I wasnt approved. this went on for a few days then finally my coordinator got the faced approval.

I have a ninja and it is wonderful. Mine came with individual size cups to blend in.

Myn insurance coordinators told me when I was submitted that Cigna is by far one of the most difficult and I may be denied initially but not to worry. They were right! I was denied but then approved after a reconsideration. Took about 19 days. I am scheduled for surgery in one month. I am sooooo glad she didnt tell me until after I had been through the process, I would have given up and not comtinued had I felt there was a chance I would be denied! I hope you get a Speedy approval and we are both on the losers bench soon!

i have Cigna. I was approved about 19 days after first submit. it was long and agonizing. I suggest calling every couple days to check on your status. I was denied at first, they said they were missing a second letter. I would also suggest searching the forums for Cigna. There are lots of topics about them Good luch and best wishes!!!

i made sure I was wearing heavier clothes and drank a bunch of water so I was over the 40 bmi. I have Cigna insurance. I was aporoved with no problems other than the 40 bmi.

Ok so this is a WAY fun topic. Secretly hoping to get down to 135 pounds. I could care less what my ex thinks about how I look. With the exception of my weight gain, my life has FAR surpased his pathetic existance, I am happily married, have a nice car, home, and a good job. Here goes my secret fantasy....my husband has a friend, well she has become a friend of mine as well, but lets just say she is fabulous! Gorgeous, rich family, so whitty and charming, ....and Australian to boot . Even her name is cool. I imagine meetign up with her and not feeling so out of place!!!! I want to fit in with her! LOL

Im a month away from surgery. It just cant come soon enough as far as I am concerned. To add some to this topic here are my thoughts as of now. I will be fine. More sex and attention at home will be welcomed with enthusiasm. When I posted this I was hurt and mad. It was after a night out. After 5 hours of standing I needed to sit down and rather than coming with me my husband let me go alone. He didnt notice I was gone for an hour. I was upset to say the least.

Iqm sorry you guys are going through this. Maybe have your Doctor talk to him. Tell your Dr. his concerns and ask if he can talk to your husband. Praying for you.

A Lot of peopel had problems with cigna but still got approved. Just stay on top of them and try and be patient!!!

I am so sorry! I know your frustration. I had a very hard time with Cigna. I was denied once for the same thing (needing a recoomendation/clerance from a different Doctor besides surgeon). It was submitted twice and finally went through. My coordinator says Cigna is the worst to deal with and they like to take their whole 30 days. Im praying for you to have approval soon!!!

Also my surgeons office said Cigna is by far the most difficult to deal with. She said they like to take thier full 30 days. On the other hand I have heard people say they are trying to streamline the process. BEST OF LUCK to anyone still waiting..

My expirience with Cigna was horrible, but I did get approved after being denied at first. Total process too 19 days. I called a couple days after and was informed that they had received my paperwork, should know in 5 days. Called on day 5, they dont have my paperwork? When I informed them a few days prior they did have it they put me on hold forever.they found it in the wrong department and so they faxed to the correct department. They said 2-3days i should know unless they required more information. Called again 2 days later. Again, they couldnt find it in the system so I explained the previous situations. After they called the precertification department, they said it was opened that day and they had everything they needed. They said it would be about 5 days. lol ok. The next morning my insurance coordinator called from my surgeons office to explain that I may get a rejection letter but ignore it. when sbe called to check on the paperwork that morning they needed something she had already faxed so she faxed again. She said she believed I would be approved this week. Following week they still hadnt reviewed my case. They kept saying 24-48 hours. I called every few days. No news Then one day I called and they said APPROVED! I was so happy! I called surgeons office. The coordinator called and said Cigna said it was not approved and still pending. So I called again and was told I was approved but they wouldnt email or fax me my approval. So my insurance coordinator called again and they still said pending. UGH I almost pulled my hair out! About 2 days later my Surgeons office called and they had my approval letter in hand! THANK GOD! So my advice is also to keep on top of them!!! Be pleasant and nice but keep calling.
