  1. Same here, protein shake in the morning. Usually a salad with grilled chicken. I found whole wheat high fiber tortillas at Costco, so usually have one of those with something on it... often it's ground turkey, but have also used chicken salad. Sometimes I'll have an apple for a snack (and extra fiber) or a frozen greek yogurt bar.
  2. Same here. I get my second fill on Monday. I'm looking forward to it. But as the poster above me said, it is really important not to drink with your meals. I thought it was going to be impossible too, but I wanted this band more than anything and have done exactly as I've been instructed to ensure success.
  3. The day I had the surgery I would have said NO WAY! It was pretty painful afterward. But today, I would most definitely do it again. I'm very pleased with the results I've had so far. I know they're nothing like some people have had, but for me, it's pretty dang good.
  4. The more weight you lose the more you have to exercise to lose weight. Maybe try pushing yourself a little harder to get past the plateau.
  5. Wow!! I get that too and had no idea, in my support group they said that it's residual gas from surgery, but surgery was a month and a half ago. I'm glad to see this, I'm going to start paying more attention when I get that pain and see if it's after I've eaten.
  6. That sounds yummy!! I will definitely try it. I've made something very similar and loved it.
  7. Yep, you're right, we rock and we'll get there : ) Sometimes I wonder if the people who lost 100 pounds in a year had these slow periods when they first started... you know, until they got to the "sweet spot". I go back for my second fill in a week. I'm looking froward to it and hope that I'll get some better results after that. I'm fast approaching my first goal- to be 250 pounds by May 1. As of today I have 8 to go, but tomorrow is my "official" weigh in day, we'll see what it looks like tomorrow.
  8. Glad to hear of your success!! How much do you have in total now?
  9. Same here. been 2 weeks since my fill, no restriction. I'm bummed. Looking forward to another fill in 2 weeks. I really hope that's going to make a difference.
  10. Wow!!! That is incredible!! What a success story. I didn't know that they did both surgeries at the same time. Where did you go to have it done?
  11. Congratulations on your success so far, that is awesome. I get my first fill today, I'm really looking forward to it.
  12. Welcome to LBT. This is a great source of information and inspiration. Good luck to you as well.
  13. Good for you for telling. I told everyone I know. I haven't had any negativity about it, only support and it's been wonderful having all of that support. I hope you get the same response. Good luck.
  14. congratulations, that's awesome
  15. I've read that anything that your family is eating is fine- just throw it in the blender. The consistency should be so that you can put it on a spoon, put it in your mouth and swallow.
  16. Wow!! I don't really even know what to say. I'm not trying to be negative, but I don't see how you could possibly say that 100 pounds in a year is not a success. Huh...
  17. I use an all natural (liquid) anti-inflammatory called Qi Nopal (www.nopalworks.com). I started taking it as soon as I got out of surgery and it helped me heal up quickly. I take it every day as part of my vitamin regime and it really helps. It even tastes good : )
  18. Congrats on the first fill. Are you feeling any restriction? My first fill is on March 26th. I'm looking forward to it.
  19. You rock!!! Keep up the good work : )
  20. Thank you for the tips. Sounds a lot like what I'm doing : ) Thanks for the reassurance, I think I'm on the right path : )
  21. That is amazing!!! Would you be willing to share any of your tips? I would LOVE to be down that much at my 6 month mark.
  22. Congratulations on your success!! That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing, it's very encouraging.
  23. I was told no straws and when I just went in for my 2 week follow up my doctor actually asked if I've been following his orders. I don't use a straw because I was told not to. I don't want to do ANYTHING to screw this up LOL.
  24. I'm sorry to hear about your husband : ( That's not cool. My husband has been a rock for me. He wants to loose about 20 pounds, so he's been doing the same things as me and been successful in his own weight loss journey. I hope things turn around for you.
