  1. There is also a nice "cleanse" product on the market that I take every day, it's just a fiber, really but it works wonders!!! I love it. You can go HERE and find it under "products">> "nutritional products">> and it's called "Q Daily Cleanse". When I was having this problem and called my doctor he told me to take fiber and this is my go-to product.
  2. I had my surgery on the 28th of Feb. I'd love to be your buddy : ) Send me a message here or email me- cfalbro@gmail.com
  3. Does anyone have a good recipe? I have a bag and need some ideas please : ))
  4. I can only offer the same advice as everyone else. The heating pad worked well for me in the beginning (it even made my tummy feel better) but after a few days it didn't help much. Somewhere I read to lay on your left side. I know this is VERY difficult for most people, but if you can do it, I found that it actually helped.
  5. My incisions are definitely there, one is pretty big, it's where the port is and the other 4 are fairly small. They're higher up than I expected, sort of closer to my breasts than my waist. I'm not at all worried about them though... I can't ever picture myself in a bikini LOL not even at my 135 goal weight LOL
  6. Thank you for posting this thread. I know that we're all very different and that we will all have different stories, but it has been nice to see that SO many people have had success... and to me ANY weight loss is success. I just keep reminding myself that if I take the slow and steady path I won't end up with a bunch of loose skin hanging on me. I know that is a petty thing to think about but I do want feel good as well as look good : ))
  7. Yes! I wish I would have been warned how much pain I would be in after surgery. I woke up and started vomiting and did that all through the night. My stomach hurt SO bad I couldn't believe it and even told my husband at one point that I would rather just be FAT!!! It hurt until the 3rd day and I stayed pretty doped up on my pain meds but I was still very uncomfortable. At midnight on the 3rd day I woke up and felt pretty good and have just been getting better ever since. I'm 8 days out now and I can do every thing that I could do before and I don't have any pain. I regretted it that very first day, but it has been SO worth it since then and I know that the weeks/months/years to come will be well worth that little bit of suffering... just would have been nice to know.
  8. Thank you so much for the great suggestions. I'm the same way, NEVER used salsa, didn't even like it. The day before it was time for my mushies I went to shop for what I would need and saw some fresh salsa and my mouth started watering LOL. It's pretty dang tastey.
  9. WoooowhoooO!!!! Congratulations, that is AMAZING!!!
  10. If I didn't know better I'd be pretty sure this was something I wrote. I'm 8 days post-op. I've lost 12 pounds. Literally, everything you wrote is me. I'm terrified of failure. I just know I'm going to do something wrong. But it keeps me honest. I've been extremely careful about what I eat. And as for the sweets- well, I haven't had any real problems. I had a tiny bit of fat free frozen yogurt about 5 days post-op and that was SO good, totally took care of the sweet craving I was having. And I froze some 100% fruit juice into ice cubes- they help with the sweet cravings too : )) I hope that helps. Good luck.
  11. I have my first follow up on Monday. I actually am going to ask for no fill if my doc suggests it. I'm terrified I'm going to do something wrong, I'm very careful what I eat now and I've lost 12 pounds (I'm 8 days post op today). I don't feel like I'm done healing yet and would like to feel "healed" and a little more used to my band before the next step. Keep us posted.
  12. Congratulations on your success. Keep it up.
  13. Congratulations!!! That is incredible.
  14. I had my first "mushy" dinner last night. It was amazing. I had some pureed chicken (pureed with some mild salsa, cheese and broth) some mashed potatoes, some apple sauce with cinnamon and some cottage cheese!!! It was only about a spoon full of each but it was so good! I used a saucer size plate and my hubby joked about how from now on it's kid size plates and cups for me LOL.
  15. I have 3 weeks off. Today is 1 week since surgery and I could probably go back in another day or 2 but for me it was more a matter of getting used to my new way of life. At my job I have 2 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute break usually just enough time to shove my food in and get back to work. I know that's not going to work for me any more and it's been MANY years of doing that, so I think of this time as my "therapy" time LOL.
  16. Yeah, the not drinking before/after is hard for me too. Keep your eye on the prize : )
  17. I was just banded Feb 28. I don't know that I would be a mentor at this stage, but would love to find a buddy/partner who was banded around the same time to share stories with.
  18. The body likes to be stable. Remember that. When I first started learning about the band I was told on MANY occasions that weight loss with the band is a series of plateaus. You'll loose some then plateau over and over (which I know can be very discouraging) but just know that nothing is wrong. Be honest with yourself, make sure you're TRULY doing what you should be doing. Maybe start writing down calories in/calories out- you don't necessarily have to write down numbers, but write down what you're taking in (i.e. chicken salad with low fat ranch) and what you're taking out (i.e. 45 minutes of kick boxing) then you have something physical you can evaluate and see if there are places you could have done better. I hope that you start seeing results soon. If you've lost 47 already you can loose another 47!!! I, personally, think you're doing amazing : )
  19. Well at least it sounds like you've figured out the cause, it would be way more frustrating to have no idea. Today is my first day of mushies and I, for one, greatly appreciate you sharing this story, it's good to know. I probably would have thought nothing of it either : ( This is a very emotional journey. Maybe you could try keeping a journal and write about what's going on when you feel this way.
  20. I start mushies tomorrow. I went shopping today. I bought cottage cheese, hummus and salsa (those babies are going into the blender together), a sack of potatoes, a couple sweet potatoes (I'm going to try some mashed sweet potatoes), a bag of carrots (I'm going to steam them, puree them and add some agave to sweeten them), a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (my list includes soggy dry cereal) and of course apple sauce. I can hardly wait for that first bite.
  21. Wow!! Good luck with the up coming surgery, I hope you love the new band. Were you able to tell that the band had slipped? What were the signs?

Incredible story. Congratulations on your success so far.
  23. I'm only 5 days post op and sleeping on my left side is not an option. Sounds like it may never be...
  24. I didn't have a pre-existing problem...
