  1. Hi, I'd be glad to be your buddy. I'm in Tijuana and having surgery tomorrow. We can do this together. My email address is gaynor.debra@gmail.com
  2. I haven't had my surgery yet but I know i will need support, encouragment and friendship. I offer the same. i think it always helps to have someone to talk to that understands what you are going through.
  3. That wasn't a silly question. i wwondered the same thing. Thanks for asking
  4. I've told a few close friends, hubby and my children. Most have been supportive but a couple have been very negative. They are worried that it is unsafe or they know someone who had lapband and did not lose anyway. I think it is better to keep it quiet until after the surgery. I won't lie if someone asks but i don't intend to publicize it either.
  5. I'm so excited for you both. Could you tell me about the pre-op diet? how long are you one it and what can you eat?
  6. I've told a few close friends, my husband and children. But no one else. I decided to just keep it quiet.
  7. I hope I'm wrong but that's the way I read it and it is what they put in the letter they sent me and what they told me doc. It went into effect 2/1/12. Sorry to disappoint you. I could have misread it.
  8. I have BCBSIL. Last year I applied and was denied. I appealed and was denied. So I've applied again. My bmi is 37.5, I have high blood pressure, severe sleep apnea, swelling in my feet, spine pain, yada yada yada. I purchased a book called Lap Band Insurance Secrets. The book had all kinds of hints. Check lists. Forms, etc. I have followed all of the hints. I have jumped through every hoop I can find. We'll be turning in my paper work next week. I pray that this time the insurance company will approve. I wish each of you good luck. I was lucky in that I had been seeing my doc. monthly with weigh ins...and i kept a daily log of every bite I took. I gave it all to my doc. who signed off on it. I saw a dietician My sleep doc, my family doc, the dietician, the surgeon all prepared reports to send in. I'll keep you informed. Debra
  9. I love this topic. 1. Tie my shoes in the middle instead of sides...that was a good one. 2. Not have my shorts ride up every time I take a step, 3. Count me in on the intimate postitions. 4. Go on a cruise and be able to do some shore excursiions without being in pain. 5. No more swelling ankles. 6. No more Cpap 7. No more high blood pressure. 8. More energy. 9. Sexy clothes 10. Travel, travel, Travel
