Got complacent.. and I need to move forward!
I'm right there with you. I lost 50 pounds and have Sat at that for 2 years since my surgery in 2012. I'm going to a family reunion in July and it's crunch time. The thing is, if just east right I lose weight but I'm addicted to junk food and in my mind- if I can eat junk food and not gain weight why not do it? Well, I'm no longer comfortable at this weight. I'm getting to the point where I'm as uncomfortable as I was 50 pounds heavier. So... Here we go. Back to the basics. Tonight I'm picking up stuff for smoothies and mooshies and I'm in it for a 3 day jump start.

Eating If You Don't Feel Hungry?
I agree. I went about 20 hours recently without eating. Had an early dinner around 4pm, went to bed early, got up late, was busy with stuff going on- errands appointments, skipped breakfast, wasn't hungry and suddenly around noon realized how long it had been since I last ate. At that point I did have something... it was time LOL.

I was wondering if any of you have tried to eat popcorn and how did it go? I don't recall my doctor specifically saying that I can't eat popcorn...

Too Much Water
I've read that you should divide your weight by 2 and that's how many ounces of water you should be drinking. So I'm 238 pounds so I should be drinking 119 ounces of water.

When Did You Feel The Weight Loss?
I'm only down 39 pounds, but I already feel like I've lost weight. I can move more freely and my clothes are starting to hang on me (haven't bought anything new yet) so I can definitely feel it. But I'm kind of weird, I never thought of my weight as an issue. I never felt over weight. I'd see people who were my height and weight and be like "Wow, that's a big girl" and never thought I looked like that. So I guess that in my mind I've never been a big girl, even though I've been overweight since I was a baby. I think that so much of our weight issues are mental and by thinking that we're big we ARE big. Does that make any sense?

**newbies** Think Outside The Box
Great tips Steve, thanks for posting this. I've found that if I eat the cracker thin crust I can have pizza. I've yet to try to eat bread, my doc told me not to so I don't. Also said no rice or pasta, haven't even tried. Why people would do it I will never know. To put yourself through this surgery (many paying cash out of pocket to have it done) and then not do what needs to be done to lose the weight. Simply amazing!

Pant Sizes
I'm 5'6" 241 pounds I haven't been clothes shopping yet. I have 3x scrub pants that I wear to work but they're HUGE! My 2x scrub pants and almost too big. I have size 22 jeans that I could barely squeeze into before surgery and now I can slip them off without unbuttoning or unzipping. I'm waiting to lose a little more before I go start trying stuff on.

Sex Sex
Same here, much better sex. I think it has a lot to do with the hormones. Before the band I didn't care if we did it or not, no sex drive. Now I can definitely say it has returned.

Lump Below Ribs?
I'm embarrassed to say... I went to the doc's on Monday and found out that it's my port! Doh!! Yep, I've lost enough weight that I can feel it just by running my hand over my skin, not even pressing. The doc says I have nothing to worry about, just to brag LOL

Swallowing Pills
I was glad to see so many of you able to swallow pills. I've been getting killer head aches and been too afraid to try to take whole pills. My doc said liquid caps should be okay, so I finally got some today. We'll see how it goes.

Lump Below Ribs?
Thanks for the reassurance. I'm trying to not worry about it, but of course the mind always goes to worst case scenario.

Lump Below Ribs?
Anyone else have this? And before you say it's the port, let me tell you, it is NOT. I know where my port is, I can feel it too, but this lump is right at the base of my ribs where my incision is. It's about the size of a quarter and it's hard like a rock. The port is about 2 inches lower than that. I started feeling it Friday night/Saturday morning. Today I called my doc and he called it a "wound tumor" has anyone heard of or had this? He says that when there is surgery causing a wound that a bunch of collagen is dumped into the wound creating these really tough fibers that can take up to a year to go away. Huh. So basically, I have a huge ball of scar tissue in there rubbing around on my ribs. Makes it a little uncomfortable to bend over or put on shoes. I'm seeing the doc on May 7 to verify that is what it is. It's otherwise unremarkable, not sore, red or feverish.
