  1. i had that experience.. nothing worked for me, just taking it easy and waiting for the sensation to go away. i had extra saliva as well.. its not nice. i also have a lot of pain in my back as well as my pouch.
  2. YEP. i sure did, for many days, especially in the early weeks. Im about over that now though . YOuve had a major shock to your body so your emotions, your physical and mental levels are all affected right now. Plus.. you are SO right. It IS a HUGE thing we have done. I really didnt know just how big a change it would be, mainly through ignorance. Not that it would have changed anything but some of what ive walked through i never expected to have to do. lol. my ''old man'' has not been giving up without a fight. lol. but, he IS doomed.
  3. mistake... that should read.. '' im not wanting to look like a scarecrow.."" sorry.
  4. hi there Bea. Youve taken words right out of my mouth.. lol... i didnt realize how much i needed read meat either until the last few days. im just starting to eat more foods now... im 7 weeks out post op. i literally ravished my hamburger.. lol.i havent had steak yet. im just on hamburger. im cooking chicken breasts for my hubbie but for me its the read meat right now. Gotta have it. What wonderful news about your Blood sugar level... way to go. Ive slowed down... no... ive stopped losing weight now. its been about a week since i had any weight loss. im assuming its because im having more in my diet. Im not worried though and neither should you be, the weight loss will pick up again. im having my fill on the 7th may. Im getting hungry now, eating more than before. i would say a cup of food now . im chewing really well but i need that amount of food. I would definately say that im due for a fill. its just in time. How wonderful that your trousers are fitting you like that, my size 18s are loose but im not into a smaller size yet. That will come. Im not worried, i have all the time in the world. i want to lose weight so that im not looking like a scarecrow. lol. judy
  5. well... if it were me i would be questioning whether a fill was necessary?? if you arent hungry and managing the way you are ... losing weight, then i wouldnt worry about a fill. AFter all, you are doing what you want to do... and that is, lose that weight.
  6. well... there you go. im wondering if its all tied in with hormonal changes?/ i know that hormones are affected by this surgery as well. im just thinking though... you wouldnt think that it was be so quick... as it was with me. Do you think it may be hormone related??
  7. thats really interesting.. do you have a craving for lemons as well??
  8. well.. on reflection i think i went in not knowing the full extent of the change that was coming... but, hey, what did i think it was going to be?? im not sorry at all but its been a very deeply stirring experience for me, mostly emotionally i think. Not an easy time at all. IN all of this im finding that some of my old habits and mind sets are still rearing their ugly head. I know its goign to take time for all this to dispel . It has been one of the hardest things Ive had to deal with. Mostly because when i am having a bad day i cant just ''get off the train ''.lol. Discipline has not been one of my strongest points for many years now. Im 66, learning that i have to be renewed in my mind regarding food. Also, im finding that whats equally as important is that i have to change how i feel about myself. I know it will all come together.. its going to take some time though. Meantime the results have been just staggering as far as my health is concerned. More than id ever expected, especially so quickly after surgery. This has been an awesome boost for me. i think that was meant to be to encourage me. All in all?? yes, i would have it done again... a thousand times over. Nothing else was going to force me to confront my ''demons'' thats for sure.
  9. this is great. thanks for sharing. i will watch out for them.
  10. hi all. the first mouthful i had of ice after surgery seemed extra salty to me. To the point where it was offputting and i didnt want to have it. That went on for nearly two weeks. when i got home every liquid tasted extra salty. I did mention it to one of the nurses in hospital and she said that frequently peoples taste buds do go AWOL... lol.. or get very confused. My taste buds are fine now and working over time again. lol. i was wondering if anyone else had this when they came out of theatre?? or was i the only one?? it was very confusing for me to start with. i thought that they had frozen salty Water, and that for some reason i needed it. actually it made me feel nauseated a bit. judy
  11. i had no problem with thicker [protein shakes. i would mix with plenty of greek yoghurt and i loved them. i still do. mind you i didnt drink gallons of it either... they were very filling. the creamy taste from the yoghurt was important for me then. i had such a horrible breath and taste in my mouth. It was a pleasure to drink. i think just fiddle with your consistancy. Everyone is different.
  12. ...hahaha... way to go. i wish id had some myself. i always loved icypoles after having surgery on my knees. i would vomit a lot so they always gave me icypoles. they werent sugar free but it didnt matter. ohh... how i enjoyed them.Ignore your sloshing tummy... lol... when you are finished there wont be much tummy to register sloshing even.... lets all hope, eh?? lol.
  13. i must remember to ask my dr when i next see him. thanks for the info.
  14. ...what site is this on?? i would love to read it all.... thanks. judy
  15. my myfitnesspal tells me i have to have at least 1200.. and my nutritionalist says 1000, so im goign with my nutritionalist. it does cause some issues when filling out my daily quota though.
  16. just love these pics. fantastic. judy
  17. this is very interesting. my surgeon made no mention of it at all... i wonder if he will eventually?
  18. thank you so much. i just love baked custard and i could have it now. i always used to make it, dont know why i stopped. I reckon the whole family will love this dessert. judy
  19. this sounds so good. ive never made cheese cake, my family loves it though. could you please give me the recipe for it?/ i would really appreciate that. judy
  20. youve been through a lot with diet change etc. do you have tummy wind as well?/ is the pain more in your gut than higher in your stomach?? ive had a lot of wind pain since the op. im sure its due to the change in diet. i had more wind last night than normal (tmi.. sorry lol.) after i had my first meal of veges and meat without it being sloppy. im sure it had something to do with that. im not sure how much air is being swallowed as well.... that could be a factor.
  21. i think that if there is no hard lump underneath, no pain, then it should be o.k. i wouldnt continue to put pressure on it though. it does need to heal over.
  22. it is scary to think of losing ones hair. you have lost a huge amount of weight. i hope that taking the vitamins deals with the hair loss really quickly.
  23. yep.. lol.. full agreement here. i had a bad day yesterday, im five weeks now post op. i wont go into details but i have to deal with it, put it behind me and move on. This has been a really difficult period for me , especially the last ten days. Hang in there, we WILL get through this one.
  24. ...good luck with it all... you are so lucky really to be able to go onto foods like that so early. wow.. i was clear liquids the first week, thicker liquids the second, a little thicker again for the third, and fourth, and now introducing some more meats. still finely cut or minced though and not dry . i cant have cottage cheese yet and im over a month out. by the sounds of it you wont have to run the gauntlet of ''lapband hell' like some of us have... and thats great. i hope it all goes really well. Im sure it will.
