  1. You can do this! You've already been through the worst. You're obviously very strong, so remember this as you take one day at a time to get yourself back into healthier eating. Let your dad and grandma help keep you motivated --you have some help from the other side now! :) I wish you all the best and I'm also very sorry for your losses... the death of loved ones can be so painful. Again, I'm truly sorry you're having to deal with this at such a young age. Bes wishes!

  2. Yep! There are MANY foods that are "not worth it" to me, or just need a little tweaking. One splurge I like is a tasty Starbucks. A lot of times it sets a mood for me. It conjures up a time in my life when I was responsible for only me and attending school. Like how a good song from our past floods us with memories of a fun summer, etc. Well anyway, once in a while I'll still order a drink. I have a particular drink I usually always order because I know the calorie, protein, carb count and I can easily arrange my meal plan to accomodate for it. Anyway, the other day, I decided I might want to try a different drink for a change, so before ordering what I thought would be a good choice I grabbed their nutrition guide... and, uh, good thing I did... Needless to say, my old standby tasted better than ever. No guilt, better flavor! ;)

  3. Let it motivate, but seriously, don't be disgusted with yourself! Recently (prior to surgery) I gained 50 lbs. in less time, and I was already 50 lbs. overweight to begin with. It's okay... our bodies might be too darn efficient at hanging on to fat, but that doesn't mean we can't retrain 'em. Ha! Maybe our bodies are also fast learners. :) You can do this. And listen to A New Dawn... "We all have to start somewhere!"

  4. It's really rough for awhile. I was HUNGRY too! However, I also have that darn head hunger ... it's going to take some time for me to tame that beast. lol. Nonetheless, everyone tells me it WILL get better, and I believe them because every now and again I have "satisfied" days that produce a glimmer of hope for a controlled future. ha. You can do it! The rewards are too great to let the next several weeks stand in your way. Best wishes! :)

  5. I'm so sorry about the bad band news, but how GRET that you'll be covered for the sleeve. What a relief! Selfishly, I hate hearing about band failures because (obviously) it makes me worry about myself (especially being without insurance. I'm self pay), but I knew going into this that scar tissue is a very real possibility. I love your attitude and have no doubts this next surgery will be just what you need. :) Best wishes for a speedy recovery and noodles of success!!

  6. What are you doing that has your dre office so impressed? I went to my first post op appt today and left feeling sorts like, "what do i do now?" Ha.

I had plication with my band too, but I still have quite an appetite. Kinds hummed about that. The nurse I met with today (thought I was seeing my surgeon!) told me to come back in 5 weeks and not expect a first fill for 3-4 months! Yikes!!! That scares the heck out of me... I can do alot lot of damage in that amount of time. :(
