Day 6 Post Banding

Well, today is day 6 post-banding. I am feeling a little guilty this morning because I ate two bites of pudding and potato-salad with tiny chunks of potato. That is a big no-no. I have an appetite now for the first time since the surgery...but I feel like I am starving to death. I want to eat everything in sight. I have notice no resistance. But, they claim you won't start feeling resistance until about your third fill. I have not even had my first. I am going to go back to clear liquids for the remainder of the day and possibly tomorrow. After that, I will begin cream soups mixed with some broths. I think the first several days of not being able to eat at all has thrown my body into starvation mode. That may be the reason for the extreme hunger today. I did not even feel like drinking broth for days and had to force myself to sip on water. I hope this becomes less of a chore.

the reason you are hungry is because you are (hungry).

sip your protein as that is your (fuel) at the moment. it will help you

with the feeling of being hungry.

its best not to cheat on the post op liquids as you are very much still healing inside and very swollen. eating before your are suppose could be serious. i am glad to read you are gonna go back to your doctors instructions.

as your swelling subsides, you will get more hungry (i know i sure did) and this is when your mental aspect of using portion control and eating protein laden options come into play.

as far as the restriction, i dont know if what you said is correct. i felt restriction from the beginning and i dont have any fills but i eat as (though i am at full restriction).

hang in there. you are doing well.

treat yourself like the queen you are.

It's really rough for awhile. I was HUNGRY too! However, I also have that darn head hunger ... it's going to take some time for me to tame that beast. lol. Nonetheless, everyone tells me it WILL get better, and I believe them because every now and again I have "satisfied" days that produce a glimmer of hope for a controlled future. ha. You can do it! The rewards are too great to let the next several weeks stand in your way. Best wishes! :)
