need a little advise from experienced bansters

My last fill was about a month ago. It was the first time I actually felt like I got a fill. It was also the first time I had a major stuck episode. It scared me and I am afraid of having another one. It took me about 2 weeks before I could eat anything other than mushies. I can eat now except sometimes in the morning I cant even get down scrambled eggs. I have a 10cc band and I think I have about 4.75 cc in there now. I have an appointment on Wednesday for another fill, and I cant make up my mind if I need it or not. I explained my situation to the lady that call to comfirm my appointment and all she said is that it is up to me. I get hungry, but when I eat it lasts for about 4 hrs on most days, and a cup usually will fill me up. Does it sound like I should wait to get a fill?? What if I get a small fill and it is too much, will I no right away?? Some imput on what I should do.

First Post Op Dr Visit

Went to my first post op appointment today. Dr. said whatever I am doing to keep doing it, because I doing so well. I go back in 3 weeks for my first fill, if I feel like I need it. with the plication, I dont seem to have problems with my portion control, although I do get pretty hungry, I get full real fast too. So far so good.

Banded.... Three Days Out,and Feeling Good!!

Got my lapband/plication on Thurs. I guess I did really good. My RN told me he was surprised, people dont usually do as well as i did. I just basically woke up walked to get the xray thing done and went to the restroom ( wished I had went in opposite order lol). Then I got dressed and went home. The gas has been terrible and the port site is extremely tender, but getting better everyday. Planning on going to work on Tues., I can sit around up there just as easy as here. So here I go. Start of new life, Aug,9 2012.

Day 2 Of Liquid Diet

Omgsh, I am only on day 2 of my liquid diet. I am sooooooo hungry. This is so hard, but I know I can do it. I saw a poster of a big steaming pizza. I wanted to lick that thing so bad. lol. I mean, heck road kill is starting to look good!!!!! I am eating 2 shakes and one soup a day. I also have some sugar free fat free pudding I nibble on some, and I hope I am not messing up but I have been putting a couple of whole wheat ritz crackers in my soup. I guess I am lucky because I only have to do a 5 day liquid diet, I have a whole new respect for those of you who have a 2 week diet. Just 4 more days, and I still wont be able to eat, but maybe I wont want to. I actually had a dream last night that at the hospital the Dr forgot I was there and went home without doing my surgery and then he wouldnt come back!!!! NIGHTMARE!!!!! well I know I can do this. I just wanted to vent to someone who wont say "your the one who wanted this"! That coming from a 13 year old, dont expect to much sympathy there. Haha. Well wish me luck my surgery is this thursday, Cant wait.

Now I Could Use Some Advise.

Went to my pre op and good news!!! ( I think), I am also getting Plication. I know very little about this, so any info I could get would be really appreciated. I was not nervous before, because I felt well informed, well not so much now. I am really nervous.

Back On

Following the advice of one of my replies, I called Melissa Jenson at true results and she reffered me to a different Dr. She was great. The other Dr office called me the very next morning. (Dr.Snow). And she already had my insurance co change to him. She already had me a surgery date, Aug 9. and the best thing is they are only charging me half the co pay that Dr carter was charging, and they take my credit card, and no money up front. It will be longer before my surgery,but this just seems like a better deal all the way around. Not trying to be ugly, but I think Dr. Carter is alittle greedy.

Whats The Stinkin Point

Well I had it all figured out.... I thought. after months of driving 40 miles one way for nutritionist appoints, phyc appoints dr. visits, and finally my pre op oppointment. I had my surgery scheduled for this friday. When we get down to the business part of it they say, that will be 2000.00 please, I whipped out my carecredit card and they say.... Sorry we dont take that card. Since I havent got the crapping money thing down pat yet, Its all off. All of this for nothing. I am going to go outside and have a cigarette, I havent had one on 2 months, I quit just special for this occasion. Then I am going to go get drunk. No more shakes or eating slow, life will go back to the way it was. I might even just go overboard. You wont see me on here anymore as we will no longer have anything in common. Good luck to all of you lucky enough to get banded. see ya

Food Getting Stuck

I am a couple of weeks from getting my surgery. One thing I keep hearing about and its making me nervous,is food getting stuck. What happens when it gets stuck, and how do you get it back up?

Almost There!!!!

Well, I finally got the call yesterday, that I have been waiting on. The insurance approved my surgery, and I have my consult with the surgeon on July 9. I am very excited, cant wait.I went to my lap band consultation on June 6. Got my ekg and pulmonary test. They told me how to eat and what I can expect. The next day I called my Dr and got him to call me in some chantix. My last cigarette was June 15 at 8:30 pm. I highly recommend chantix. After a week of taking it I barely had any desire to smoke. At the consultation I weighed in at 244. I immediatley started to incorporate the mechanics of eating like they described to me. Most of the time I eat that way and it is fine. There is still that little part of me that knows I can, so I occasionally cheat, telling myself I wont do it after I get my band. I am now down to 236. I really hope my journey continues to be so positive. I am very excited, and just cant wait till the surgery. Wish my luck and keep me in your prayers.
