  1. yes and yes and yes again. i had that also. i called my dr and asked what to do. they said to eat activa. i cant stand yogurt and they said to get align (walmart genric brand 16 dollars),,,i opened the capsule and put in my protein shakes and in about 1 /2 days, my runs stopped. read my blogs, it will tell you!! ask the dr if you want to be sure. it will stop. fluids in means fluids out. hang in therem it gets better
  2. no fill yet but i think my plication makes me feel full as i am very full on 1/2 to 3/4 cup of my mushy/real soft food. only 24 days post op. nervous about eating/stuck etc....
  3. b, so glad to see you back. have missed your positive posts
  4. hi cander, i lost 18 on my pre-op dont focus on numbers, focus on shrinking your liver and getting your body ready for surgery. best of luck to you also
  5. can one do things to avoid this? or is it something that comes with the territory?
  6. how is your band and plication doing? when i eat sometimes, i can feel my stomach constrict slightly. it doesnt hurt. i can also feel that same feeling when i am hungry. i think it is helping me with (feeling full). anyhow, let me hear how you are doing....
  7. tmf, what is the slime you all talk about?
  8. shr, you post some of the most amazing things. thank you
  9. hi pc, from what i understand, carbonation is a nono. but you could hear different theories. i stopped drinking soda from the day i started the pre op and havent had one since and same with beer. i would refer to your surgeon or paperwork they gave you. this is def a change of our eating habits and esp how we eat and think. congrats on doing so well so far, hang in there.
  10. from what i understand, they are ok to help with getting your protein intake. eating is what we are to do and the band will just curtail how much. i intend to drink one for breakfast and eat my protein throughout the rest of the day. but if you are concerned, refer to your doctor. remember, we are eating to nourish.........
  11. my port is now a dark pinkish (maybe 2-3 in line) as it heals, it will fade. mind did. so will yours.
  12. i am scared to eat too (am on mushies/real soft also) small bites and go slow (alot of other excellent posters on here say that also. but we did this so we can eat but eat less. you can do this. i am hoping next friday i can add a wee bit more food.
  13. what did your paperwork say that you can eat? mine gave sample menu's and ideas of the different foods that is the next phase.
  14. hey maria, all dr are different, but mine told me to stop a week prior and a week after.
  15. have 5 incisions and you cant even hardly see them same when i had my gallbladder out (they used one incision)
  16. jim, thank you for sharing your story. you have been my support on this forum since i started pretty much. i am in the (blame myself for gaining it back what i lost also). i dont wanna ramble because you know i can.....what's done is done. there is nothing that we can do to make us what we (were). What we were then is not whom we are NOW. I would rather have you NOW then you were THEN. you are doing so well. I am so proud of you and your wife is awesome because of her support. FABULOUS. Let's look at today and then tomorrow for all the good it will bring us. YOU are almost there. You are such an inspiration to me. I thank you for that sir.
  17. i add milk or water to my protein and put in freezer until it gets to a consistency i like and then drink it up. YUM. def saved me during all my 4 weeks liquid pre/post op diets (and putting in ice cube trays helps also).
  18. miss---------dont waste your time.
  19. well, let me know how the dr appts go and if your in VA, let me know as i am just down the road. where is ty going if i can ask? (sorry if i am nosey)
  20. i would rather have (loose skin) than be over 300lbs again. just my opinion. do this surgery FOR your health. not for looks. looks fade.........good health does not. all the best
  21. pre op was 2 weeks liquids post op was 2 weeks liquids (clear/then full) 2 weeks mushy/real soft---that i am on now then soft/tolerate food if dr okay on f/u next week guess all drs are different in their (diets)
  22. well, as ms j says and my surgeon and from my own experience, we are just drinking our fluids (fluids are coming in and they must go out). i think in surgery they give alot of meds and it gotta all come out somehow......def hit me. they said that yoghurt activa works just like align does but i cant do any so they said to do that capsule (i dont swallow, i open it and use the powder).
  23. jim, i am sorry to hear that. i am thinking also, you dr may be associate with other hospitals also just as mis said. stay positive. i believe good things happen to good people and you are a good person.
  24. Yes it is. Trust me I know. I was ms bathroom queen for about 6 days after surgery My dr recommended me to find align (and i merely open the capsule and put into my morning shake) and it helps me with this issue. Been fine ever since. I get mine at walmart (the generic brand--same ingredients for about 16 dollars a box). Promise this will help. (but ask your dr if its ok to be on safe side)
