  1. dont know about the band h*** phase but you should be eating your allotted amount and a complete taco salad is way over the recommended cup.....just because we can eat more doesnt mean we should....its over and done...eat more Protein to fill you up and eat fruit and veggies...much better than fast foods.........and def keep drinking and exercising
  2. well you didnt say what you did..but i am guessing NO now smile so what, you eat fast food...just dont it all the time..alot of salt and grease...i finished my kids meal...its done, it was good and right back on track
  3. eye candy.....beautiful inside always and now beautiful outside (as always) text me the pic 2 my phne
  4. i eat one (splurge fast food kids meal) every friday evening then its back to healthier options til next time...
  5. i dont eat out much but when we go out my hub does not eat band friendly but there are options......appetizers, salads, Soups etc.....you can even ask them to bring half and box the others... my friend jeannie came to visit me and we went out and i thought the same thing.....wonder what will i eat...and fretted...so i ordered and stopped overthinking....in my eyes, just because the meal was (huge compared to what i prepare myself) did not mean i had to eat it all......i ate my portions and took rest home for hub.. ps, jeannie didnt eat all hers either as she is now sleeved..we thunk the same way
  6. take a time out take a hot bath go for walk read a book come to LBT and blog or post call a friend to vent/b**tch too drink something cold and delicious but ALWAYS know that this moment shall pass
  7. like mis said, and from my experience, my PCD has to write a letter to my ins saying i needed the surgery and why. (i wrote out my entire history with my weight for my PCD as a reference). my hub was military and we moved every 4 yrs so i have a big medical history...different doctors....but i made sure every detail was in there.......it may help you too.
  8. wraps help one lose (water weight) not true weight....just my opinion
  9. 46 when i got banded bmi was 62 when started... i just do what the dr advised me to do (to help) and let my body do what it does..i think larger bmi lose quicker at the beginning but if a person (helps) by doing their part, success is in their hands.......
  10. i bet you thought i'd throw a sammy pic in here
  11. cawa ((hugs and kisses from NC)) this is for YOU:
  12. you can start fixing it when you start fixing yourself (mentally) we were told not to drink while eating for a reason (as you explained) and as mis and tmf and dawg said, defeats the purpose of WLS banding. so if you want to lose weight, really want too.. then you will do what you are suppose too and fix it. eating more calories than you burn off will make you gain weight. band or no band......
  13. seems odd that obese people are rarely seen in the places (they) need to be. why is that? ashamed, embarrassed, fear other people judge.....why i didnt go. but i live in a mayberry small town its alittle tap/dance studio about 1/2 block from my house and i just walk there..to think 11 months ago, i couldnt even walk that far.. and there are about 4 or 5 of us....i am the biggest one and the oldest one (ripe old age of 47) but i am THERE......i am working in my fitness level..looking in the mirror at ME and knowing each step i do with my feet/legs and my arms going up and down, that it is WORKING..... i am burning fat in oxygen and working in my fitness level...the more i do it, the higher my fitness level becomes....just lifting my knees alittle higher or my arms alittle higher ups my heart rate....What a great feeling... and then after 45 min, i merely walk home and hub and kabo the doberman are waiting on porch for me
  14. well if i ever saw a success story and a positive post, this was it. GOOD FOR YOU...proud of you as obviously your dr is also. well done honey.
  15. T i was one of those people (in my days when i was addicted to weighing every 5 seconds) that if it went up, i figured WTheck..i am up so i may as well really be up...YOU are 100% correct in saying its a mind game.....a mind thing....ALL mental...i feel once you really (get it)......the reality sets in that yeah you can truly do it.......if you want too. GREAT POST
  16. from what i understand, the band wont make you not hungry..it helps me feel fuller on less but does not make me not hungry so if its not head hunger, drink and or eat more protein to help until your next meal/snack...
  17. when one falls (off) you just get right back on easier said then done i know but its what you and me must do how do you do it? how do you start? you just begin from basics....from scratch eating your allotted amounts drink alot eat fresh protein/fresh veggies and fruit and BELIEVE in yourself enough to do what it takes. YOU CAN...
  18. from my own experience: TOM stressing at work (over my in laws health issues) me and my ole man fussing (he cant ever find dirty clothes basket after 28+ yrs) allergies me breaking a nail traffic snarls van halen never touring again my band tightens up......so to answer you, yes i dont have any fills (just the primer at surgery) just not hungry...i welcome it sometimes.
  19. why feel bad? why disappointed? if your losing *inches*, does it really matter what the scale says? esp since it varies so much during the day....because if you are buying smaller clothes or have better mobility, then in my eyes you are losing and should be saying YOU GO GIRL when looking in mirror. and if you need something to go to when you feel bad, take a walk, read a book, take a hot bath, jump on this forum and encourage someone...lots of options..
  20. i also have the plication and asked my dr that very question and he told me that liquid goes right through (think of a funnel he told me) because of the insides being swollen, little amounts make you feel (full) the plication helps me feel that way right now when i eat..
  21. OMG............between you and Terry........i am gonna put BOTH of you in a time out in the corner....
  22. you are successful now and will continue to be by eating your allotted amounts and choosing excellent quality foods....i dont anything about fills so i wont comment but the other posters seemed to have hit the nail on the head.
  23. i read and know alot of people on here who didnt have a pre op or had some 2 or 3 days only prior to surgery. i guess it depends on your dr, weight etc..i had 2 1/2 all liquids before and 2 weeks after....i should have been so lucky.....but i will say that me having those pre/post op all liquids taught me what real hunger is and what head hunger is.......best of luck to you on your surgery. how exciting....this is YOUR year
  24. how exciting....i cant wait to see that myself YOU GO GIRL
