  1. i work at a desk job, and took a total of 8 days..i was very tired on my return for 2 days but it does get easier...just go at your own pace and you will know when you need to rest. all the best
  2. you just (start). as TMF said, no diet needed. eat better foods (non processed is best, eat fresh veggies/fruit and lean proteins) leave fast food where it belongs.....and drink alot ......and exercise...you just do it....that is what i did..i either wanted to lose weight or not this time......i failed horribly in my past (dieting) and always gained it back by eating the wrong types of food and in huge amounts.....it boiled down for me to want power.....did i want to lose weight bad enough to stop making excuses and do what i had to do.....i guess we all got to decide that for ourselves. all the best.
  3. best of luck....you will be fine....SIP and rest and SMILE
  4. (((hugs from nc))) seems the ones we forget about is ourselves when we got SH** going on...i never meant to imply you give up, far from that in regards to your exercise ethics, you make me so WOW.... i do know that when stressed, i find it hard to eat and drink..i wish you all the best..i love your profile picture and you are doing so well....i wish i could say something to make you smile or feel better..hang in there okay.
  5. sharon you are my shooting/shining star (always)
  6. yep, as others said, liquids in and liquids out.....my dr okay'd me to take immodium (as maddawgs did).......i still have a change of clothes here at work just in case.....i also found taking a daily probiotic helps also (i still put one in my protein shake every morning)....
  7. during the work week, i work out when i get off work.....and on weekends, when i get up.....i started my step aerobics 2 weeks ago, def feel a difference in my body and def now in my thinking.....i know it is working....and its me wanting it that is making it happen. no excuses.
  8. dont feel down......heck we all get that way.....look at how far you come...and fitness boot camp, YOU GIRL GIRL...if you dont feel well, or your head hurts or whatever, tell your doctor. have you told them how you feel yet??
  9. you were banded less than a week, gas/farts is going to happen..its major surgery so its gonna hurt/be uncomfortable.....and you need to stay hydrated because you know if you dont, it can make you not feel well..and because you are still swollen from surgery, its hard for liquids to go down and hence why you need to sip all day long.....you need to help yourself by doing what you need to to make this work. its not a walk in the park or a quick fix....you have to heal, you have to maintain a positive attitude (even when it sux or it hurts) and really as m1 said, way too early for you to be giving up....the band will help you, but you gotta help it and yourself first.
  10. best of luck to you........
  11. yes I had that also (and with a hernia repair too) it hurt to take a deep breath....keep moving, and if you do get overly concerned, as the other poster said, just call the dr and let them know ......congrats on your recent surgery....in 6 months, you will be on here telling people the same thing, that it does get better
  12. from my surgery on to now, I have a prescript of that anti naus meds .....only used it one time so far......as I hate feeling like I am gonna you know.....see if you can call your dr and get them to call you in a prescription....feel better hon
  13. what if the surgery works and you lose weight and get well?
  14. nothing wrong with starting right now....the future is ahead of you..not behind
  15. well, I am guilty of comparing myself also to others. I have a great friend who has the sleeve also and you know what, I have lost MORE than she has..she is saying to me here lately, maybe I should have got the band....the point is, you lose at your rate to fit your body. the larger you are, the quicker you lose...no idea why but its true....so who cares (like miss and tmf said) who loses why before you do..does it matter? did you have a time limit set to lose before your arms fall off? ......what matters is you are losing weight.....end of story........and just because someone has the sleeve or the bypass, it is not a guarantee they will lose, you still need to change what you eat.....the amounts and have a mental attitude of wanting to lose weight, not just have surgery to lose weight....sorry if this is rough, but come on. it just burns my gears to see you not even giving you and your band a chance to work and YOU WILL....you just started your process...do what you have to do to lose weight.....and it looks as if you are..i see no issues...I see only success so far
  16. i also have a 14cc band i felt (restriction) from the beginning...when i eat (more then my allotted) it gets uncomfortable and i feel (full).....i do look forward to fills in the future... so until that happens, i will just eat like i am suppose to and stop ..
  17. i miss home too.......miss edisto beach more howdy neighbor
  18. this sounds like fun
  19. we have all been there so no need to kick your butt from experience, we seem to be our own worse enemies so you stated you lost 100 pounds...to do that you had to be eating less calories which is awesome..so stop eating crap food...its that simple...nothing wrong with having pringles every so often, but healthy lean Protein, veggies and fruit is way more better for you than high fat, high calorie junk foods.. sure it tastes good but that is what made us obese in the first place. so start drinking alot......stop eating at 20 min and dont eat more than what your doctor allotted for you and your band.. so stop doing what you clearly know is not right and do what you know you have to...make yourself well. ps: i grew up in charleston...graduated from berkeley high
  20. well, like my friend texas said, no food is off limits there are just better choices to be made
  21. whats done is done...never to return so you fell off the pony ride....get right back on it now giddyup and go
  22. a loss is a loss and when it slows down, and it will you will wish you could still lose this fast.. congrats on the surgery and also the great loss
  23. which ever surgery you get, its not a miracle you will have to learn to eat better foods and have a entire mental attitude change so many people go into this WLS and expect it to drop off...its not easy any WLS has pros and cons.....dont get it if you are just gonna expect to wing it... i see it all the time on here, someone get a band and in 2 months, they are wishing they got the sleeve.....little do they know, if they just tried...the band could work and just because they got the sleeve, it doesnt guarantee weight loss. have the surgery if you really want to lose weight and that means want it bad enough to actually follow how to use it and then do it..hemming and hawing will only keep you big and most likely get bigger.
  24. usually a small sign for me that i have had enough....also a sign i am drinking too fast
