  1. i cant add anything else the others posted..but i will add this...get off feeling guilty because you ate food. food is not the enemy..overeating the wrong types of food for our bodies is what is bad...so when your dr okay's you to move to reg foods, choose lean proteins/fresh veggies and fruit......food is meant to be enjoyed...embrace it....nothing to feel guilty about in my eyes. and if you are ever scared, call and ask your doctor let them ease your mind...i am 11 months post op and i call them (alot)
  2. well, it was a battle for me also on that pre op i NEVER thought i would survive...but my want power kicked in....i never knew i had it...i wanted this surgery sooo bad (not just to lose weight) but to be able to push my granddaughter around the block in her stroller..that was my aim--my goal.....and then the day my ole man told me to woman up on my pre op when i was whining.. he said you wanted this (surgery) so do what you have to do in order to have it done..and something clicked.. yeah its hard, its downright tough and its gonna get harder in some parts--but you will survive so you ate....so what....cant change that now. follow your dr's instructions from here on out
  3. what a great post how exciting for you
  4. well i walk and started step aerobics 2 weeks ago i do what i can...my knees hurt sometimes but i just keep going thanks for your kind words....
  5. great job chad
  6. so i am on the backside of 40 i found this image and thought, YEAH that sums it up pretty well ..
  7. as long as you (start) ......that is what matters. jackie, thanks for posting some outstanding stuff today. its great
  8. extra push.......lets see you lost 47 pounds so far that is 9 five pound bags of potatoes or sugar that is a success in my book failure my butt......success = YOU you know what to do, so do it eat right...eat your allotted amounts fresh veggies/protein/fruit and drink and get on with it... dont look at what you (think you did bad) think of all you did exceptionally WELL
  9. went to search for something .......and found what i wanted to share with you about your post.....i post it to you with love:
  10. fresh is better than frozen or processed......
  11. any WLS is good. any WLS also has pros and cons. any WLS can have complications but no matter what surgery one gets, they need to remember, its not a guarantee or a miracle to lose weight just because its WLS. whichever you decide to get, research, read, ask questions and keep in mind, the more you do to (help) the surgery, the better your success is. best decision i ever made hope it is yours also
  12. no need to diet. eat your allotted amounts (eat fresh veggies/fruit and lean protein) drink alot and move (any exercise).....its working...you just need to help it..and just because you can overeat doesnt mean you should...hang in there.....and ANY lose counts...no matter the number. tex is right, move it..
  13. how exciting. best of luck. pre op is (hard) but please know you are stronger than you know....and YOU will survive. this is your year. this is YOU..best of luck
  14. well 2 days a week, at a local little dance studio, its low impact step aerobics..just me walking in there was major.....a big big step and a big accomplishment from someone who spends her life worried about people judging her..and so what if i am the (biggest one) but you know what...i am there and i am doing it......and the other days, i use a susan powter dvd of step aerobics..its 45 min and i am heading toward week 3 since i started doing exercise (other than walking)..it feels great.....its 100% mental game....i either do it or i dont.....there is no in between...... thanks for taking time out to respond to me
  15. having it filled so tight is not good and dangerous.. and having it sooo tight, you can only i am guessing, sip/drink high cal drinks or manage sliders.....that being said, eating more calories than you burn off will make you gain weight.....i agree with the two posters, def get a 2nd option or revisit the doctor about checking out if the band has slipped, it may not have..it maybe something as easy as you getting back to eating your allotted amounts and watching you calorie intake vs outake. i have plication but my dr stressed that if i didnt change my eating, no WLS would help me...i happen to believe that and agree with that statement...anyhow, def get a xray under fluro done to check the status of your band....i wish you all the luck.
  16. what a wonderful post......and very much needed on this forum...i compare myself daily and its only hurting ME..like you said, we all are different....we lose different, we see things different, we are different but as long as we continue to lose (that works for us and our bodies) its all good... GREAT post my sistah sharon ps- our 1st year is approaching.....can you believe it already??
  17. if your doctor did not give you a post op (diet) to follow, you need to call them and see about getting one...i am with tom, hard to believe any dr would just leave you out there hanging.....also, a big help would be to call a nutritionist to speak to to (refresh) you on what to eat and how much.....jackie and tom made some excellent points....just remember if you eat more calories than you burn off, you will not lose and quite possibly gain......WLS or not...... best of luck to you.
  18. kinda figured that is what you meant... a def relief though...
  19. i eat about a cup or cup and a half food tops.... after surgery, you are healing and swollen and not as hungry but it returns sounds as if you are eating decent....keep on the lean proteins/veggies/fruit and keep drinking....even if the scale is not moving as fast as you'd like, doesnt mean your not losing..if you are losing inches, your losing
  20. if you are excited, then so am i....
  21. did they give you the little breathing machine? if so, use it...you want to keep your lungs clear..so cough even if it hurts and yes, it will stop ....congrats on your surgery
  22. terry, your belief in yourself is evident you are stronger than you know and its my honor to be your friend your (want power) over rode those (just eat) feelings...i am proud of you. i enjoy all your posts tell mistress band i said hey (that southern for hi)
  23. me loves it too.....dont leave me out yall...
  24. dont look back......looking forward is much more fun
