  1. on my pre op i found out what head hunger was and what real hunger was

    if someone is eating, or its lunch/dinner time, of course i wanna eat..head hunger

    if i am hungry, or think i am, i drink something first to see if its a sign that i am just

    thinking i am or not..........its usually me thinking i am hungry.

    but if i am hungry, i eat protein.


  2. i asked my dr about this very subject

    iget allergies bad, pms etc......and he said to use tylenol...so i buy the walmart or walgreens (cvs) brands if tylenol...i try to buy liquid if possible but i do have caplets that i can swallow (i do break them in half if i fear they are too big)..

    some people have posted motrin and things like that, but id refer to your dr in regards to any insaids just to be safe.

  3. to gain weight, one must take in more calories than they burn off.

    my band will help me (fill fuller) so i need to be aware of what i eat...

    i did the research and i prepared myself to either do it or not.


  4. using my want power, i do not eat when i am stressing or dealing negative people in my life.......thankfully i am able to use other coping measures. at work, with rude people, i take a walk up and down the halls....at home, in MIL issues or TOM issues with hub, i take a short stroll or take a hot bath and lose myself in a book.....come to far to let (food) get in my way.

  5. you and i were banded about the same time. and i recall reading your posts and blogs. i hope nothing i say offends you. so forgive me if i do.

    we all have been there but going back to drinking protein shakes (will help in the beginning but you cannot live on shakes for ever) but really eating food to lose weight is best.

    3500 is a pound whether its ate or drank. and if you take in more calories than you burn off, you will gain (or not lose).

    def eat 1 cup of food per meal..(protein first option and then veggie/fruit)..

    def need to stay away from processed items (as that has salt and that is a water retainer)....if you can, eat more foods to fill you up. and drink ALOT. (to me, eating bread is not a filling item..you can eat the chicken and burger but leave off the bread..just MOO)

    i cant exercise like some because of my bad knees so i have to be aware of my calorie intake but i do try to eat high protein/very fill my tummy up foods. and you being on your feet every day teaching is a wonderful thing.

    and trying to lose 60 pounds in 4 months is way way too much. if you dont get there, i am afraid you will be upset. how about just losing weight without putting a number on it...just do the best you can.

    you can do this. the band is there and its working. now you just need to help it along :)


  6. hugs...I agree some of the dumb not respecting band storys do get maddning....

    I am refering to a post I read where some ones is wishing another cant sleep at night and telling people they get no sympathy,,,,when or if they fail.....

    Some one better then any one on this site or any site will judge us...

    i must not have read that..apparently for good reason.


  7. i agree deedee.

    we all have had a weight problem. and we know how it feels to

    have this surgery. alittle kindness goes along way and compassion.

    i try to have alittle of each. although i admit, i at times can become incensed as the sheer stupidity of those who seemingly dont care.
