  1. my lapband dr is the one that took out my gallbladder, it will be ok, he can do any adjusting while he is there
  2. all my md was make sure chewable, target or walmart should carry some. I heard someone say Costco has some good chocolate chewable ones.
  3. that's alot of pressure, that you've put on yourself to please your brother, as much as you love him. You have to think about you and whats best for you!
  4. The surgeon said, its alot of weight for the body to lose suddenly and its trying to figure itself out. surgeon said I should stop one of the meds, to see if it helps but its only been one day, and its not fun, cardiologist can't see me till Monday. so I have to 'suffer" till then. I'm gonna try and keep myself hydrated, Toddy and see how much that helps during the week. And I haven't exercised much, could that be a factor? hmmm
  5. same thing happened to me, they found one huge stone in my gallbladder so instead of lapband it was gallbladder removal. and he wanted to put lapband in 3 weeks later. i've heard of some doctors doing it at the same time. my dr said he didn't do that incase the gallbladder opened up it would contaminate the site and I would possibily never be able to get lapband.
  6. Girl, I'm sick and tired, of being sick and tired! Even right now that have lost 33 lbs I can't enjoy it because my head hurts like crazy, my lp md said its the bp meds Ive been taking that are probably too strong now at my new body weight. Called regular dr and they can't get me in for a week ! But as hubby says its like this now, the good stuff will come soon, so I say to you, the good stuff will come soon!
  7. hubby makes my shakes, for now just protein powders from health food store, he sometimes puts 1/2 a banana or a tablespoon of peanut butter. Once summer is here Im sure we will be finding some great recipes!
  8. there was a prior post, saucybandster, that said we would never/should never use straws again, Using straws gets air into our airways, making airbubbles where we don't need them. I'm like you I have a container of straws on my desk. What I have started doing is getting the water in the 8 oz bottles, so it makes it seem that I actually drank something... let me know if that's changed!
  9. I had my check in today and dr was soo pleased, I was the one that was anxious and all freaked out, cuz I know I haven't eaten as I should, added something that I shouldn't of. But Dr. was soo excited and very supportive. You are paying this dr for his services to help you, upsetting you is not helping. He should of asked what seems to be the problem, how can we help? Doesn't he realise word of mouth is a powerful thing? I would let him know how you feel and if he continues with his attitude, find a different doctor. You have enough to worry about trying to get the hang of things. Good Luck!
  10. pretty soon the kitty's gonna need a lapband... hehehehe
  11. That's an important thing, to have your "mind in the right place" I know I wasn't the first time my lapband was scheduled. Second time, there was much better. Sounds like you are on your way to becoming a bandster!
  12. my dr's nurse told me some people can't handle more than 1 a day, (me for one) I was supposed to drink 4, but I was able to drink one and I still lost 26 lbs, so do not fear, if you don't get them all down.. just keep drinking what you can!
  13. pregunatale la enfermera de su doctor.
  14. that now and then in between meals I'll grab a ritz cracker and it will hold me, till my next meal (no fills yet) and he said that was fine, don't go all crazy and start denying all your urges. Life's supposed to be enjoyed. And yes contiue to drink liquids, I go and grab all kinds for during the week so I have a variety! Sobee has some good ones.
  15. I just got back from md folks, have maintained my after surgery weight of 187, (Yeah) but the lightheadedness/dizzyness he said is probably from the blood pressures medicines. My bp when he took it was 110/60. I take one in am and one in pm, the lost of 30 lbs so suddenly can certainly affect these. So if someone is taking any and experiencing same, contact the dr that rxd them to you and explain to him whats going on, Miss Meow, because I was getting lapband, my eye dr, opted to wait to rx me new eyeglasss perscriptions till after because yes, the weight loss can affect our eyes, the change in the water in our bodies has a great deal to do with our eye sight. I tend to be like you all these new little nusisances I tend to blame the surgery, Oh the things we learn on this new journey! But I feel so much better now, knowing it wasn't me being all anxious, it really was something going on!
  16. tomorrw I will be 3 weeks out, and for the last couple of days , I've been feeling lightheaded at different times of the day. I will eat something and it goes away but comes back, I've been doing everything as close as possible to my scheduled meals, but does this meal my tummy is ready for real food??? I have been taking my vitamins.
  17. the proetin drinks help keep me regular, otherwise everything "Just ends up backing up" and I can feel it.. experiment till you find whats right for you
  18. I have the same problem, so used to "shoveling" food in, its easy to forget the small bites and all the chewing we have to do, I go tomorrow for 1st post op check up, Its something we have to learn to do, so the lapband will work for us, good luck!
  19. you have to give your body time to really adjust to weight loss before worrying about the next weight loss. thats what Im doing
  20. I try to drink something before I eat and it helps curb the hunger I think I have. and if Im still abit hungry I drink protein drink good luck.
  21. Me too girl! so far Im down to 188, lost 9 after surgery , scale not moving but my body is adjusting and looking smaller Good Luck!
  22. i havent had a fill yet, but I notice even though the scale hasn't gone down my body is reshaping and yes closes are fitting looser, I'm not in a rush to loose a lot of weight at once, the slower the healthier for me.
  23. I thought it depends on your co-morbidities you are having even if your BMI is low.
  24. I had KFC chicken drumstick and mashed potatoes but I had lost 26 lbs before hand, dr never said a word.
