Counting Calories And Other Things
I went to my seminar on 7/25/11. I was told to stay at 1200 calories, 50-80 Protein, no more than 68grms Carbs, 64 oz Water & exercise at least 3 X a week. I keep that in mind but don't usually get to 1200 anymore! I sure get the protein. I finally signed up for myfitnesspal this week. great way to keep track of your food intake. I exercise every day now, I park far from the store to walk more, it is such a change from the old me! Enjoy the ride!!!

Talking W/husband,family & Friends
you have to start with him. I hope you have been reading posts on this forum, that will give you lots of info to give him. I know my husband was worried. he had heard the horror stories, but they were not gastric band stories. once I gave him some positive info he was fine. when you go to seminar make sure he is with you. you can never get enough information; they really told us a lot! good luck and keep us informed.

Starting My Journey And Looking Forward To What May Come.
start the process, you will know pretty quickly if it is for you. can you make the commitment, are you mentally able, and physically meeting requirements? find the best doc you can. many do the surgery but not all are reputable. you will eat after our surgery, it will be different. the trade off is soooo much better than food. there are so many good changes that you will be shocked! Best of luck, keep in touch!

when I feel like I have gone astray I also start over. I cut almost all carbs, drink whey Protein shakes, lots of Water. I exercise every day, even if it's a short walk. anything will get your head in the right place again. I do this for a couple days, then slowly start a plan. I need to know what I am going to eat. being prepared will help. coming to this site often will help, honesty will help. thus far you are being very honest that will go a long way! we all want to help, really....

Low Energy????
Are you taking a good vitamin? I have recently started taking a liquid vit by Nature's Plus "Source of Life Gold". I feel so good and have energy like never before! I also take a liquid calcium by a company called Tropical Oasis - tastes good and has great amt of citrate calcium. I take a 1/2 T. twice a day. my doc wants me to take 1200 mg. Dr Oz was talking about how complex carbs help with brain function and energy. maybe that would help.

Am I Already Intaking ...
doesn't sound like much but in the beginning I didn't want to eat. I made myself eat and sip lots of water all day long. don't forget the water. I was worried about dehydration. the first weeks are surreal since we eat so little, before you know it you will be on full liquids. be sure to get a good whey protein powder - it will provide lots of needed protein. plus many of them taste good! Eat as much as you feel comfortable with, at this point you won't be gaining anything.
