  1. Hi, you're not alone. I have seen myself as a failure because of my weight. If your lap band is not doing what it is designed to do, it's the lap bands failure not your's. Have you spoken to Dr Aceves on what can be done to hasten the results? My prayers are with you.
  2. Hey, ya'all! Hebron, Kentucky here. Right now Cincinnatti has Thursday salsa ( dancing ) in the square. Too fun
  3. Hi Sara, I have a month left to wait and I feel the same fear. I am a mother of 6 and 3 of them are toddlers. I have been personally torn in this process. This forum is good for me because I can say my fears I can't say to my family and friends. I wish you the best and my prayers are with you.
  4. Love the fortune and love chinese food too! I told my Mom that I would explaine anything about the surgery, but she can't use emotional blackmail or put down my choice of having the surgery if she ever wants me to include her in whats going on in my decisions. It has curbed her tongue and we have better conversations now.
  5. Beach Baby I'm so happy for you to be getting your surgery tomorrow! Tell us all about it later!
  6. My phone contact told me she went dancing 2 days after surgery. It could prove to be a nice anniversary. Congradulations on both the surgery and anniversery!
  7. Hey Shellybellyrelly, I hope to see you there! It's like that old Macy's comercial Open, open, open! I can't wait!
  8. It's natural to miss them, just remember how she will run to you when you come home. Lots of hugs and kisses then!
  9. Have you tried prune juice? Mira-lax is a powder used in liquid. I would try the juice first. I haven't the sleeve yet, so I'm telling you not from sleeve experience. Just what I will be using.
  10. yes, and we'll have clear liquids, lol, sounds like fun.
  11. Yes I'll be flying in to san from cvg. My son plans on going with me if he gets his passcard on time. Where are you flying out of?

  13. Congradulations!!! We will be September sleeve siblings. I'm on 9/22/11
  14. I only told those I knew could keep a secret. Like you my inner circle, the ppl I respect are the only to know. I didn't tell everyone when I got a hysterectomy either. Many ppl feel they have a right to know everything about your body and will be hurt to find out they are not in your personal inner circle ( if someone blabs). In my case, this is my body and I don't billboard my medicines or surgeries.I had also made up my mind about having the surgery and didn't want to invite criticisim.
  15. I love this story, and I love your proud Papa!
  16. I haven't told my gp, my gastroligist or anyone that has said, "Oh, you look fine". I have told my husband, children,a cousin ( she had previous wls) and parents with instructions they don't tell anyone else. I have mean gossips in my family and in my oppion if they don't contribute to my life they don't need to know. I also regret telling my mom, she is afraid for me and cries when we speak of it.
  17. I am heading into vsg surgery next month and I have been watching the forum for anyone who has had the surgery and has advice for those who have Chron's/ Colitus. Does the surgery trigger our illness? I know that soy irratates the bowels, is there a protien without soy? Thank you
  18. I hope so. That would be fun to see you there!
  19. I found out through my childs nurse that caffine restricts the body from absorbing iron and calcium. You may want to get decaf until you can verify this (that way you won't get sick with lack of iron or calcium in your diet).
