  1. I got my appetite back at day 3. Good luck
  2. You need to sip water throughout the day. Even set a timer for every fifteen minutes and just drink an ounce.
  3. I can eat tortillas, but they are usually pretty high calorie.
  4. I don't understand your question? Are you asking How will you handle it emotionally? Because you know you make bad food choices when you're drinking it, you should limit to maybe once per week if not only a couple times a month.
  5. For protein, my nutritionist said to multiply your body weight by 0.3, which would give you grams of protein needed daily. So 150 x 0.3 = 45
  6. Some people are really finicky when it comes to the taste or smell of protein drinks, I know I am. I have settled for Costco premier nutrition chocolate pre-made drinks. I usually blend them with some fruits to get some more nutrition and improve the taste. You should try and go to a supplement store and get sample packs of proteins so you can try before you commit to something you won't end up liking.
  7. Gallstones were not a pre-op concern for me, but my surgeon did prescribe a medicine to take twice a day for six months to help prevent formation after surgery.
  8. make sure to drink plenty of water too.
  9. We should have all get together for a coffee date somewhere. I did receive your PM Staci, I will text you tonight so you have my number. I'd love to know what Protein you use. When I drink a shake, I use the costco premier nutrition chocolate or Atkins Caramel cafe and blend both with fruits for a smoothie. I tried Jay Robb protein and love the orange dreamsicle but found the others to have a weird aftertaste- I don't know if I got bad batches, but maybe I should try them again?
  10. I was told I could take Centrum Chewables and a calcium chew. There are many brands of bariatric surgery specific vitamins too (Opurity, Bariatric Advantage, etc).
  11. Some Dr's only allow clear liquids the first week, but two sounds a little excessive...
  12. Tell them when you feel good and ready, IF you feel good and ready. I would encourage you to find support groups and other people to surround yourself with that will support you in your journey.
  13. My surgeon also recommended the sleeve to me, but I decided I did not want a portion of my stomach removed. They try to steer you towards bypass or sleeve because you will lose weight and you don't have to come in for maintenance, so the patient's compliance really doesn't change their "success" rates. Do as Elcee said and really research. There is a sleeve board, but I would take what they say in regards to the band with a grain of salt- there's a lot of band bashing on other WLS sites...
  14. I would get my records from my primary to show weight at this time and then diet until your consult in August. There you can give them the starting weight records.
  15. You need to work on the emotional eating, it won't go away. I also have this, and when I get overstressed or emotional, I try to occupy myself with other things so I don't eat. If you need to, look into seeing a counselor or psychologist who can help you figure out why you are overeating. Also, if you are going to eat, find something healthy that tastes good (fruit, popcorn, etc).
  16. Drawing a deep breath, hiccups, etc are soft signals.
  17. 1. You should probably call your Dr and schedule an appointment to see about a fill. 2. Have you seen a nutritionist? 3. The band will not stop you from eating crap. 4. If you want to lose weight until you hit the green zone, you need to diet. Last, you've lost 37 pounds in two months! That is great. average is 1-2lb per week.
  18. I am a private person, and so only told those people who are intricate parts of my life. I did not tell casual friends or co-workers because it is none of their business.
  19. The feeling will go away, just do not try to purposefully vomit.
  20. There is a difference. Full is when you can't eat more, not hungry is when you've eaten enough to make the hunger go away but have not eaten the max. If you are getting full after finishing, then you are eating too quickly and need to slow down. If you eat faster than the stomach can send the signal to the brain that you're okay, you are likely to exceed that amount.
  21. I was allowed to take my birth control continuously. I was told by my gynecologist that traditional birth control pills may not work correctly after surgery because some people's body absorb hormones differently. She said the best bet would be to do an IUD or use NuvaRing.
