These 3-4 Pounds Keep Stalking Me!
I am so frustrated. I have been looking at onederland for about 3 weeks now. it's soooo close i can taste it. i havent changed my routine that has caused me to loose thus far and recently had a small unfill. i just cant seem to get the scale to hit 199! i stay jumping between 201 and 204. WTH! it's so frustrating cuz i'm so close. once the scale even said 200 so just knew the next time i got on it was gonna be 199. NOT! just not sure how to make this stupid scale move. any suggestions?

Lidocaine/prilocaine Cream?
my doc gives me a quick shot with a needle that i say is air compressed, cuz that's what it sounds like. which feels like a quick pinch. the needle used for the actual fill is so huge i REFUSE to look at it when he's doing it. now mind you all i feel is pressure and nothing else but just the thought really freaks me out. lol

So You Think I Can Start Regular Foods Today??
my doctors office gave me a booklet with how am was to progress with my foods..once week in each phase..liquids, pureed..soft..then regular foods. i would hold off on the regular foods for now. dont want to do any damage this early on. i'm sure maybe you can find some foods there that go with the consistency you are allowed to have at this stage. best wishes

What Is Good Restriction?
Good restriction for me is being able to eat about 1/4 of what I would eat pre band and not being "hungry" for another 4-5 hours. Jennifer

1St Fill Soon....will Food Change?
when i had my first fill i didnt get any restriction. but everyone is soooo different. you will find that even when you dont get a fill what you can eat may change from day to day since so many things effect the band like weather, your cycle and stress. so i feel like everyday it's a new adventure. lol you will learn as you go what foods are a definete no no. at one point i couldnt eat rice, but now i can... i could eat bread, then i couldnt..now i can. so as you see it changes....lol best wishes.

Freaking Out About Surgery
i pray that God's peace would begin to surrond and engulf you as you are on your journey. it's natural to have some fear, for you are human. i had to same fears, and i think mine were magnified since i work in the health care field and see a lot of things. but i want to encourage you to try and let those feelings go, you want to go into surgery with a clear heart and mind because once you are banded you will find out that stress definelty effects your band. my prayers are with you my sista as you start your journey to a new and healthier you. jennifer

Junior/misses Section
Just wanted to drop a quick note. I got my unfill last monday and so far so good. it takes me about 4-5 hours before i'm "hungry" and my portions are controlled. needless to say I still am figthing that 1-2 last pounds to get to onederland. however i went shopping yesterday because i needed an outfit in a specific color for a womens conference. well i went into a little cheapy store and asked where the size 12's were since i saw the plus sized section started at size 14. she told me in the junior/misses section. I JUST STOOD THERE FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY. ME GET CLOTHES OUT OF THE JUNIOR.MISSES SECTION. my heart started racing. i know this sounds crazy but i was totally freaked out for a minute. I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT CLOTHES ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE PLUS SIZE SECTION. so when i bought everything from that side of the store it was soooo weird. i was happy but it was so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that i could. i even bought a tank top in a medium from that side of the store. ok just wanted to share that experience right quick. hope all is well with everyone. s/n from our conference. WHATEVER IT IS...LET IT GO!!! peace and blessings jennifer

3Rd Unfill
ok so i went in to te get a small unfill on monday. i feel sooo much better. my doctor is very pleased with my progress so far..that was nice to hear cuz at one point he said "we need to get this moving.". i'm so glad he listens when i tell him what i feel i need. it was sooooo crazy after the unfill as soon as i got to the car my stomach was growling. WTH! i havent heard that noise in months. it was so weird. so far right now i think mentally i still think i cant eat and might get stuck, but i have tried like a salmon burger(just the burger) and it went down fine. i am happy that right now my appetite is staying at bay adn i'm wondering if after an unfill is there swelling since he takes the fluid out and puts it back in to make sure it's all still there. i made sure i had no slippage as that was my biggest fear. so now i'm trucking back along and i'm hoping that once TOM leaves I will be in onederland. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED. jennifer

A Cautionary Tale.......
I love the fact that my surgeon listens to me...yes he has been doing this for years and actually trains other surgeon..but I know what i'm feeling in my body..i'm so glad my surgeon doesn't have a set schedule for fills but let's u have some say so in it...now getting an appointment isnt easy but he does listen.

Too Tight; Miserable; Not Losing
Your story sounds like mine...I was doing fine..got sick and my band tightened..I like u waited thinkn it would loosen up but 3 weeks later and it was getting worse..went in for a slight unfill on Monday and I feel sooo much better...I too am deathly afraid of gaining since i'm so close to goal..i'm praying that I can stay on track and really workmy band right...best wishes to all

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
It's so easy to become obsessed...I would do it everyday and when it fluctated in the wrong direction I would be devestated..I now know that it's not healthy to do that and try to do it once a week on Monday mornings..now do I slip up and jump on more than that sometimes..of course..but not nearly as much as I used to..I finally realized that I had a goal size in mind and not a weight..so I go by my clothes instead...that's kinda hard to obsess over...lol

Psycholgical Support After Banding
I was self pay so I didn't have to do the psych eval..my question is for those that did..was it a one time deal or do u check in with the psychologist once and a while...the further I go on my journey the more I realize how "mental" this whole weight loss thing is...was in the store today looking for size 12's and when I picked up 18's and 20's my old sizes and looked soooo big to me..then looked at the 12's and still have a hard time believing I can fit them until I actually put them on....just thinking how helpful it would be to have a professional to speak to about this whole mental thing. Any thoughts?

Dumping Feeling And Discomfort
i know the feeling you're talking about. i have it if i'm too tight..i also here gurgling if i'm too tight. my advice is to chew.chew chew. i cant trust myself to take small bites, so force myself to cut my food in small bits.

2Nd Fill
i wish i was that smart and not have ended up in the red zone. which i'm in for the second time..but actually not my fault. first time fill was too much..this time after i got sick it tighten up. i used to think i want my band really tight so i cant eat. WRONG! I am miserable. wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. i think you are smart to take it slow cuz being too tight is some garbage! lol
