  1. if your fill is done under fluro...nothing to be worried about. my doc numbs the area with a quick pinch and then the fill takes less that 3 minutes total..piece of cake compared to the surgery. i just can never watch that big needle or i might pass out.lol
  2. i have a physcial job and i had surgery on a wed and returned to work the following thurs.
  3. i only loss 13 pounds on my liquid diet...mine was mostly water, juice(not much), jello, chicken broth, SF popcicles. be patient with your body it's probably freaking out cuz it thinks you're starving it. best wishes on your journey.
  4. just my 2 cents..but you're only 2 weeks out so your journey is really about healing and not weight loss. so i wouldnt be too concerned that your lack of weight loss is because of the protein.
  5. i think that most people who have postive experiences after a while stop posting, therefore you only really hear the negative. but as with any major surgery make sure you do your research and see what's best for you.
  6. thanks everyone for your comments. i feel soooo good and proud. cant wait till may 20th for my one year picture!!!!! and you know i'll be wearing those jeans!!!! pink.....i dont really think i have any secrets. i probably am not the best bandster when it comes to eating...but i can say i stuck with the gym 4 days a week consistently. i have a personal trainer i see twice a week. recently when i felt stalled..i increased my protein and started more interval training. i also started(just today) a program called supreme 90(bootleg p 90x), so we'll see where this takes me.
  7. ok my anniversary will be may 20th! my goal was to be in a size 12 top and bottom(those of you that follow my blog, know how that's been going). well today i got a pair of size 12 jeans in the mail i ordered and tried them on just to see. OMG THEY FIT! now they are snug, but still comfortable. I COULD JUST CRY! i cant believe i made it and before my year! YEAH ME!!!!!
  8. thanks...do you have a blog on you tube..so i can subscribe to yours as well
  9. i am 11 months out and i still have that shoulder pain. mostly if i over eat...or if i'm hungry. it's sooooo frustrating. i massage my shoulder..i doubt that makes it go away, but i havent found anything they say works that actually works..
  10. thanks to all those who have subscribed already to me on youtube!
  11. my doc told me one week post op i could return. but no weigh lifting till 4 weeks post op and no ab work till 6 weeks
  12. Ok so it's almost been one year since i was banded and i have been video blogging on my phone. i was torn as to if i was going to ever post them. well i decided about a month ago that i would. then realized i had no idea how to post them from my phone to my computer.....lol. well duh! i finally realized yesterday that i have an app on my phone. LOL (yeah me and technology arent' the best of friends. ) anyhow i started posting yesterday. i have about 20 videos i think but i 've just started posting so i have about 8 up thus far. feel free to check out my blog on there. my name is jennypoo6043....just wanted to share my experience with others and hopefully help someone along the way. i cant believe the number of women that have reached out to me for support from this site that i talk to or text. i've found some friends all over the country that i would have never had the chance to meet had it not been for LBT! i would love to plan a reunion one day somewhere with everyone i've spoken with, but for now i'll settle for this. thanks guys and feel free to leave comments on you tube. jennifer

have you been sick or stressed recently. i had an episode where i was traveling by car for over 6 hours and was super tight. didnt get it. i found my band goes thru fickle phases with no rhyme or reason. sometimes, stress, TOM, or the weather can effect it. could any of those be the culprit? jennifer
  16. thank you so much..that really helped put things in perspective. i knew i could count on you to help me see the brighter side.
  17. glad i read your post. i recently traveled in a car for a long period and couldnt figure out why my band was soooooooo tight! hmmmm i'm learning more and more every day. thanks
  18. Ok so my one year anniversary is quickly approaching and right now i'm hovering around a 42 pound lost. my goal was to be in a size 12 top and bottom..if you've been following my blog then you know where i stand with that. so i bought another size 12 jeans but they were petitie and i figured that just meant shorter, but i couldnt get them past my thighs either(but could put on a 12 skinny jeans..tight but got them on and buttoned) WTH!!! i am so frustrated with the whole jeans thing. when i started my journey, my doc told me most patients lose half of their desired weight in the first year, sooo if i go by that i am well ahead of schedule, but if i go by the goal I set for myself...doesnt look like i'm going to make it..ugh! so my question is if i decided to stop stressing about the jeans and be content with fitting 12 dresses and tops..and L scrubs and L tops..would i be a quitter. one one hand i feel like i am and on the other going by my doc's standards i've done great. what do you guys think? HELP!!!
  19. my bad i just saw that it's may 15th..lol duh!
  20. lalaj..when is your surgery?
  21. my doc had me come in 4 weeks after surgery for my fill and then it was up to me. does your surgeon have a protocol?
  22. welcome to LBT..this is a great place for support
  23. i havent had any other surgery since my band, but i did get a throat infection..it made my band tight. i tried to wait 3 weeks but it never loosened up. i had to go in for a slight unfill. not sure where you live, but are there no places near you that you can go. i dont get why this happens, but it seems when we get sick our band tightens. i would get an unfill especially since you cant get down liquids for you are in danger of getting dehydrated and end up with even more severe problems. best wishes, please go see a doctor soon. keep us posted
  24. Scale finally moving in the right direction..not fast but it's moving and i'm happy.
  25. I had dermabond and with showering and ur clothes rubbing it will wear off
